  1. Pretty sure he put Rhule on the clock the day Pelini was fired.

  2. Are you putting Rhule on the clock before he's even played a game?

  3. Please find some new material. The buyout shtick is getting stale.

  4. No kidding. People need to chill the eff out. I have said this is a long re-build, which can be sped up a tad through the transfer portal, but long-term, consistent programs are built through high school recruiting and development, not the transfer portal.

  5. I don't think either fit. If Nelson was from any of the other 49 states no one would give a rats butt that he is moving on from the program.

  6. Wait, you're saying teams can win 6 games in just 1 year?

  7. Plus if rely on portal too much, you can easily be Michigan State. There is NO foundation if you lean on the portal too much. If you truly want to BUILD culture and a winning foundation, it’s started with recruiting high school kids and develop WITHIN. Unfortunately, this isn’t quick. Those who expect a quick turnaround are either unrealistic, out of touch with what true winning looks like, or willing to sell their soul ( fandom’s soul) to the devil by pulling a Mel Tucker. Now, I am not saying we can’t get bowl eligible… bc we can. I guess it depends on the person’s idea of success

  8. Yeah, that's a bit hyperbolic and misleading.

  9. Is there anything in the dominant culture of the United States that's been around for 150 years that doesn't have at least some entanglement in a racist past?

  12. Need him, a WR, another OT, a DT, & maybe an ILB

  13. They hit the jackpot with Walker Jr….. a lot of the programs listed above already had foundation. The danger of relying on the portal too heavily is that when you hit, you can hit big and win 11 games…. If you miss, you win 6 games…. Such a crap shoot unless you truly build a program and “supplement “ with the portal. I used MSU as a quick reference, bc they are the ones a lot of people use as an example of how quickly a team can go from horrible to top 10. It worked for a year, but then a hard fall in year 2… not saying they won’t be back in year 3, but there is NO quick fix in culture building and consistent winning

  15. There are 10 extra Covid year guys left. How many of these end up on the fall camp roster? I'll set the O/U at 4 and I would lean towards taking the under. QB Thompson 6th year RB Grant 6th year WR Washington 5th year OL Anthony 6th year DL Wynn 6th year LB Reimer 5th year DB Brown 5th year DB Clark 6th year DB Johnson 6th year DB Newsome 5th year

  16. You said at "DL we literally have nobody, not even walk-ons". We have three guys who were regularly in the rotation last year - Robinson, Hutmacher and Wynn. We are over-stocked at QB but throwing three walk-on QBs in there is kind of misleading. We have six scholarship QBs, or will when Sims gets here. Though two of them are out for most if not all of the spring. I'm not sure where all the defenders will shake out position-wise in the new scheme but it seems safe to say that we'll have at least six DLs when Jeudy gets here - Robinson, Hutmacher, Wynn, Buckley, Jeudy and Gunnerson. Then probably Wallin coming from JUCO plus 3-4 more high schoolers on the way. So it's kind of misleading.

  19. Sure I’ll miss some of these guys and I think some of them could still contribute but, based on these past years results, I don’t see how a lot of turnover is not a good thing. I’m hard pressed to name anyone we don’t have a very good chance to improve upon. Might be a few rough spots for one year but a big reset would seem to be warranted.

  21. Don't know what everyone is complaining about with the McCaffrey foul on Griesel, he clearly threw his body into Griesel and was pushing him off his spot. If anything, it was probably called too late.

  22. At the Russian airfield 600km from the Ukrainian border where Ukrainian's have had 2 successful attacks, destroying bombers and killing pilots, the Russians apparently got antsy and last night they accidentally shot down one of their own fighters headed to Ukraine as it flew overhead. They also accidentally shot down several of their own missiles from locations inside of Belarus and Crimea.

  23. Plus, the constant changing of down linemen and formations by the front 6 can create confusion by the o-line and they may struggle with figuring out who to block, which enables the fast defense to swarm around the ball carrier for limited gains. It seemed like Chin’s D was basically the same formation play after play, especially in the front 6-7, and the opposing line knew exactly where to block each play.

  26. I'm watching Minnesota and Syracuse right now, and Minnesota isn't dominating Syracuse on the LOS. Syracuse is creating confusion on the offensive line by mixing up their alignments, bringing different LB's to the LOS, and then backing others off. Minnesota has the lead at halftime basically because their QB's and WR's have hit a few big plays downfield. From what I have seen on film studies of the Syracuse D the past few years, their DB's are susceptible to deep passing teams.

  27. I really like PeLLLLini the man, and he was a good coach with 4 non-conf games and playing crappy teams each year, such as ISU / Colo/KSU/Baylor/Minn/Illinois/Purdue/NW, etc... even OSU was awful one season, Wisconsin was horrible a few years, Penn State & Michigan played below average a few seasons. But I liked him and the bottom line was that he couldn't take the team beyond a certain ceiling with certain circumstances (ridiculously easy schedule). The pressure to win, the media, and also his NFL style to chew the clock with a lead the entire 4th quarter was super boring and exhausting.......just so they can beat an average team or whoever.... It felt like a 2 1/2 - 3 quarter game followed by a snooze fest. Woo. NFL style. I don't know if Sanders will lose 4 games each year throughout his 3 year contract, but he is taking over a super s#!tshow of a program for 15 years, with the exception of them having one or two good Pellllini years there. I think they just finished 1-11 (and several years of 3-5 win years). What makes it exciting for football is to see what it will be like in year 2 and 3. I think Colorado could pull out some wins next year, but I seen his son play QB and he floats a lot of soft passes that will get picked in a P5 conference. He's not bad at all, but I think there will be growing pains here and there. I guess to answer you question, I think Sanders will have CU becoming a top 25 team soon and will get 10-11 wins without playing 14 games to do so. If I get fooled, then we all getting fooled.

  28. No worries @Farms... Im guessing most of us understand what you are saying and agree... there are some on here that will just be argumentative "literally" and others that are so lip locked to them that will comment even though its clear they have no clue... enjoy your day...

  29. Exactly! 100% agree. If we assume that people change their gender for the right reasons (which they clearly do) then we have to assume people would change their age for the right reasons. If you don't assume that, you have no become part of the problem.

  31. I’m guessing that home, in that location, has not appreciated near that much. I can’t imagine that was built for anything less than $1M to $1.2 and it was prob more than that.

  32. I was still shocked by the amount of money they would give me when we refinanced our home last summer. It would be a horrible idea, but they would give it to me, about 5 times more than I refinanced for. Point being is you just never know what folks are doing financially and home values have tripled in my area in a decade, not sure about there specifically.

  33. It's a dumb headline. The article isn't saying that exercise was rooted out of racism. It had a couple of sentences about how women were encouraged to be stronger to "have more white babies". Now we both gave clicks to an article solely because of a misleading headline. At least I'm assuming you clicked on it and actually read it before bringing it here.

  34. If Grant wants any shot at the NFL, he needs to go this year. He's already older than a handful of starting NFL RBs. I would guess Anthony and Wynn are gone. They were 1 year mercenaries brought in by the other staff. Unless the really love playing FB, why would they stick around for a 6th year on a "rebuilding" team? For DB, I think we keep 2 at most, maybe Brown and/or Newsome. Clark is a career backup and Johnson has never been a factor, I just don't think they would want to stick around for another go (or Rhule will let them...).

  36. I can't believe how they completely let Whipple bring in his guy as the 2023 QB recruit when everyone knew Whipple was going to be a short timer. There were five top 25 QBs from either Nebraska or a border state in this class. We basically didn't recruit any of them in favor of the #43 QB from Massachusetts. #9 QB Avery Johnson from Kansas #12 QB JJ Kohl from Iowa #15 QB Lincoln Keinholz from South Dakota #20 QB Brayden Dorman from Colorado #25 QB Zane Flores from Nebraska https://www.on3.com/db/rankings/consensus-player/football/2023/?position=qb

  37. My question is; who do you think would be the better head coach, Bo Pelini or Deion Sanders?
    2 points
  38. It is? By my count we are currently at 8 and 4. IF you want to Include EDGE, that would put as at 8 and 7, currently. QB- Cooper Hausmann, Chubba Purdy, Mikey Pauley, Logan Smothers, Jarrett Synek, Heinrich Haarberg, Richard Torres, Casey Thompson. DL- Nash Hutmacher, Jacob Herbek, Stephon Wynn Jr., Ty Robinson Edge- Braden Clover, Blaise Gunnerson, Jimari Butler.

  39. We got 10 inches of wet, dense snow last night. Snowblower motor was audibly slowing down in the deepest parts, but just barely made it through my driveway and sidewalks before the batteries died. I did notice that there was still 20% charge in the batteries when I put it on the charger. I think the motor was pulling enough power that the battery undervoltaged at 20% charge, so keep in mind in heavy, deep snow you might not get the full charge of the batteries. (FYI, my neighbor was struggling with his gas snowblower. It would bog down and he'd have to restart it.)

  43. Really ugly was the whole Frost era. Husker nation should file a class action lawsuit against him for appearing like he didn't even give a s#!t. Spent more time being drunk, stupid and whoring around. Hell, if we would have had someone who gave a crap, we would have been to a bowl game. Heck, a trained monkey could have done a better job.

  44. There is a difference. There's a lot of differences. Also for clarity, that 200,000 number isn't people - it's encounters. And according to the CBP about 20% of the people crossing have done or tried it before (Title 42 has directly led to thousands of migrants to cross multiple times). DHS officials estimate that the recidivism rate during some parts of the year was as high as 38%. That number is also not the number of people that "successfully snuck in" - it includes everyone who presented themselves for asylum, and everyone caught and turned back as well.

  45. I heard the current staff met with him at his HS to congratulate him on a great year and wish him luck at OSU. How our previous staffs missed out on In-state kids baffles my mind.

  46. Guys like Feist and Nelson only had another year of eligibility because of the COVID year. In my opinion, they just aren’t choosing the use that extra year, and that’s totally fine. Unless a guy is getting crazy NIL $ (like Thompson), it’s probably good for these guys to move on with their lives when they reach 23-24 years old.
