Why anyone would vote for these "LETS All FREAK OUT AND RAGE" Republicans is beyond me. Rather have someone who can keeps their witts in these situations.3 points

Not sure the best place to put this, but I just talked to someone that works where Ochaun is working out preparing for the draft. He said he is making gains way faster compared to everyone else and the trainers are laughing about how bad our strength staff must have been. I'm sure that's common in a lot of industries to call out the previous work as shoddy but a lot of smoke that the previous staff was meh.3 points

True, but it's equal folly to be certain that if Rhule doesn't win the program is doomed.3 points

I think everyone did. A lot of people also thought a drunk monkey could get us 9 wins after Pelini got fired....3 points

So....I'm confused and really don't know anything about weight training for a sport like this. Are they supposed to be doing squats, cleans and snatches? Are they supposed to clean their snatch after they squat?3 points

I agree with you that companies have layoffs way too early and many times didn’t need to do them and instead ride out the tough times, but you most certainly can measure performance in most jobs.2 points

Cue the next MAGA/Q conspiracy theory. It wasn’t our military that shot it down, rather it was a good ole GOP white boy with an AR-15 (that Biden and the China loving dems want to ban). Video proof is on Hunter’s laptop.2 points

I am under the assumption that the U.S. has enjoyed the capacity to identify an article of laundry on the roof of any building in China whenever it wants.2 points

Classic Archy: get debunked? Create a strawman! I'm not claiming a specific way the grid went down. The fact it's not the same cause as the last times the grid went down doesn't change the criticism. Abbott (or any of the Texas politicians) could have addressed the previous ways the grid went down or even used some fore thought about other ways the grid could go down and then set about looking at ways to prevent those things from happening. I mean, you could argue Abbot or the other politicians couldn't have foreseen ice storms causing branches to down power lines, but that's pretty weak since as you point out it has happened elsewhere.2 points

Yes, I'm aware of this. Nothing about this changes the outcomes that Texas power grid keeps failing during cold weather events. I'm totally fine with criticizing any politicians that are not trying to solve this problem regardless of party. By all means, show us what those politicians have or haven't done. Abbott (and the state government) can pass laws requiring the power companies (or others) to take different actions. Yes, the state could pass laws requiring tree management near power lines (example). The state could also pass laws for burying power lines where ice storms are likely to down power lines or bury existing power lines that get downed by an ice storm, which Abbott could be proposing right now in order to prevent this from happening again.2 points

Introducing the MAGA approved spy balloon gun. I’m absolutely convinced a person would make millions simply by purchasing these, wood burning Trump or MAGA on them and then reselling them for 4x the price. Wanna take it a step further….2 points

This is a really good interview by Bob Wachter with Ashish Jha, the White House Covid Response Director, on where we are at with Covid funding, research, vaccine and treatment development, testing, when to wear masks, long Covid, etc. Jha has always been very pragmatic about his approach to mitigation steps based on science. One thing that stood out in the interview is you could see his frustration with Congress and their lack of funding for next generation vaccines particularly the mucosal and pan-SARS vaccines. There will be another coronavirus that jumps to humans in the future, it's only a matter of when not if. These types of vaccines would most likely reduce the chances that the world goes through what we have been going through the past three years. But the anti-science, anti-vax mouth breathers like MTG and Desantis are driving the bus and slurping up disinformation simply to please their intellectually challenged base. It's worth the hour to listen to this interview. The first 15 or 20 minutes are more about the politics in DC that JHA deals with. The rest of the interview deals more with where we are at now in dealing with Covid as a society. I know 2023 is the Year of the Ostrich and everyone is done with Covid. If that's you then move on. Unfortunately, a virus doesn't give a f#&% about that.2 points

I don’t buy it as ochaun was only in our program for half a year. Our S and C program may have been terrible, but ochaun wouldn’t be the right litmus test at all.1 point

Not having a 149 available is inexcusable. I mean what are we even doing here!? I was excited to see Andrews at HWT but holy smokes, he can't weight more than maybe 210. He looked like Eric Schultz sized out there. I did see on another forum in interesting thought on perhaps Pinto/Allred moving down a weight class each next year and Andrews going to 197. No idea if that is possible or not given what those dudes weigh already. Really nice effort out of Labs at 174. Ruth is going to be an absolute PITA for years to come. Extremely long and dangerous, just like his brother.1 point

Rhule might get it done, I like him. All of you saying winning will definitely happen again, and fan support is an unlimited pool that will never run dry should think twice about speaking in absolutes. Nothing is certain, and nothing lasts forever. To declare otherwise is folly.1 point

Fan support survived Callahan, the waning days of the Pelini era, Mike Riley and Frost. I don’t think we need to worry about it disappearing on Rhule’s watch. Now if he fails miserably (not gonna happen) and the next hire is a complete dog, well, then maybe we can talk.1 point

Mav you are right. I must have been in a bad mood when I wrote it and another post about coaches not visiting Sam Foltz's parents. I'll put my back on. Thanks for the 'rebuke' - I needed it.1 point

He told the Oregon 247 site that he has is planning to visit Tennessee and Michigan State. Said Oregon is high on his list. He said Oregon, Oklahoma, Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri and Kansas are schools that are recruiting him the most.1 point
