  4. Actually it isn’t accurate at all. Historically that word was used as a pejorative for people born with mental handicaps such as Downs syndrome. They don’t like it, it’s hurtful, and it took quite awhile to get people to stop using it. MAGA and Trump supporters weren’t born with a condition they couldn’t overcome or grow out of. Actually, using it for MAGA is not accurate at all and it is a disservice to truly handicapped people. There are numerous better and less offensive (to unintended groups) words that can be used for Trump supporters. Dumbf#&%, idiot, moron, bootlicker etc. Maybe try those instead.

  5. How about ya don't be a moron and stop using the word unless you're talking about engines, flames, or some physical phenomenon. It went out of style for a reason.

  7. Of course I thought the Trump as Pope meme was a joke, proving how far you have to stretch the truth to land some satire. Now I find it came straight from the White House. There really is no place left to go.

  9. This deal is extremely favorable for Ukraine, which I'm totally fine with. It's pretty much what Zelenskyy wanted earlier this year. A fund is set up for investment in future mineral and hydrocarbon projects, defense equipment counts as contributions to the fund. Ukraine doesn't have to pay us back for any military aid we've given so far. US gets first right of refusal for minerals or hydrocarbon to be exported, or they get to designate who the buyer is. Ukraine gets final say on if and where new project are under taken. US will get 50% cut of profit, but no profits can be taken from the fund for 10 years. The only question is who is assigned to the board to manage the fund... That will be interesting. For all the pissing and moaning about the Biden's and Ukraine, this one could be sadly ironic if Trump Trumps. It will be funny to see how the regime spins this since the major sticking point of Ukraine paying us back is non existent, and there is effectively no guarantee to actual minerals or profits.

  10. Please make it stop. Someone give that man a loaded gun to clean or something. A syringe and clorox? A little bit of the stupid now and then was sort of funny. But this abject ignorance and stupidity, 247 nonstop….it’s too much for any sane thinking person.

  12. tl;dr: The Republicans want to make it: Easier to get guns Harder to report government ethics violations Easier for companies to pollute and harder to report it or get information about it Harder to understand the relationships between businesses and government officials vis a vis the fees they pay to get mineral exploration rights In short, the Republicans are using simple majority measures to expand corruption, pollution and malfeasance and at the same time make it much harder for the citizens to learn what they're doing.

  17. From your article….. United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby put out a statement Friday about the delays, saying the airport’s issues seem to be a combination of technology failures and “over 20% of the FAA controllers for EWR (Newark Liberty International Airport) walked off the job.” “Keep in mind, this particular air traffic control facility has been chronically understaffed for years and without these controllers, it’s now clear – and the FAA tells us – that Newark airport cannot handle the number of planes that are scheduled to operate there in the weeks and months ahead,” Kirby said in his statement. The Department of Transportation rolled out more financial incentives on Thursday to hire air traffic controllers and an incentive package to keep controllers from retiring, the latest move in combating an ongoing shortage of the Federal Aviation Administration’s critical work group. The new staffing-caused delays are just the latest development in problems plaguing the Newark airport as a busy summer travel season is fast approaching. Last July, the FAA relocated a key control facility responsible for Newark air traffic from Long Island to Philadelphia in hopes of enticing new hires to join the hard-to-staff facility.

  18. I contend that lower priced steaks are still better than tons of other entrees, and you can still make a big a$$ steak at home for a lot less than you'd pay at a restaurant, especially after they gouge you for drinks and tips. My wife is a good cook but she likes to eat "healthy." Yikes. That puts me on dish duty. My biggest motivator for eating out is that they agree to do the dishes. I hadn't had a Quarter Pounder with Cheese for years before I got one at a drive-thru a couple years ago. I was shocked that it was over $6. But it's also hard to find a hamburger at any sit down restaurant for under $15.

  19. Some of our conservative posters don't like to use the word retarded to describe the Trump movement when it willingly punches itself in the face in order to appeal to the cranks in the Republican coalition. In order to make this a safe space for @Archy1221 I think we should instead use more inclusive language and call Trump and his supporters 'embarassing s#!tstains in history', thoughts? I'm old enough to remember when Trump went on national TV and said immigrants were eating pets in a moment of historical and international embarrassment.

  24. Living wages has nothing to do with it. That's a BS excuse that almost every corporation goes with. Their profits have continued to go up every year since COVID despite paying their employees more. They're just one of many companies that is realizing, or about to realize, they are squeezing too much from their customers pockets for the s#!tty products they offer. I can get a Big Mac meal, or pay 5 bucks more and go to a sit down restaurant with a larger portion, better quality food, better service, and a better atmosphere. That's a no brainier.

  25. It’s not two different standards. Biden was providing assistance to help prevent Russia from running through Ukraine. Basically a proxy war that helped both of us and Nato. Honestly I don’t recall if Obama did anything when they took over Crimea. But it was a quicker less involved deal that, to me anyway, seemed to be more related to the boundaries established when the USSR splintered rather than an out of the blue invasion of sovereign territory. The reason I don’t feel I’m holding Trump to a different standard than Biden is simple. Biden did things to help Ukraine. Trump has done things to relieve the pressure from Russia, actually making it tougher for UKR to succeed. There is no standard to compare. It has been two completely different approaches and for different reasons. Biden helped the victim Ukraine. Trump has been effectively helping Russia the aggressor and seems to be overly concerned about any money that can be made. That doesn’t sit well with me.

  26. Oh it’s related. At some point people/countries have to decide how much they’re willing to take from an aggressor. I’m not advocating for boots on the ground but there is a lot more the US could do that would be the right thing instead of just f#&%ing the victim out of some mineral rights. And I also believe a unified Europe could walk right through Russia. But yeah, it gets real ugly that way.

  27. Why didn’t Obama get that land back if you are expecting Trump to get the more recent Russian expansion land back? Or why didn’t Biden get any land back in a deal? Don’t get me wrong, I hope Ukraine gets as much as possible back, but isn’t this 2 different standards?
    1 point
  28. Unrelated. Im sorry. Also doesn't make a ton of sense considering the Soviets pretty much were the only reason England wasn't obliterated. France got the s#!t beat out of them. Still though they are just not going to reclaim that. I wish they could. But it is not feasible. The last counteroffensive showed as much. They are better off being selective and playing a defensive style role at this moment. It would be another world war. I was more so meaning Ukraine doesn't have the manpower. They certainly do not have the equipment either.

  29. Even Europe hasn't given Ukraine the equipment to do this. They physically do not have enough men or equipment for this. It is a literal pipedream. Morality aside.

  31. Probably. But it makes you question exactly what kind of person could knowingly go along with something they realize is so wrong. Really, that is much worse than somebody that’s just too stupid to realize it. And currently that is every single person in Trump’s administration. Willfully destructive to the detriment of the country or brain dead. Nice.

  32. That’s literally impossible. Everyone told us Trump is a Russian stooge, only does Putin’s bidding, the US will be part of Russia by summer (that was a good one). No way is Trump choosing Ukraine. That wouldn’t fit the choice narrative.

  33. Lmao what a joke. There was a full car so he was human trafficking. Incredible police work. No wonder why there was no arrest or no charges brought. It's easy to have your hands tied when you are pulling things out of your a$$ with no evidence. Also and more importantly, the Supreme Court of the United States of America has ordered his immediate return to the US. Do you disagree with the Supreme courts unanimous decision? Your whataboutisms doesn't change the fact that he should not have been sent to the el salvadorian gulag and the Supreme Court has ordered the US government do everything in their power to have him returned to the US. That is the official final say in court as the Supreme Court is the last stop of any court case.
