  1. In the ESPN article about Mackensie, it mentions how he never took his final OV. It's a longshot, but what if his old buddy Terry Joseph convinced him to use it at the last second and grabbed his commitment while he was here? Thus the 48 hour tweet. Again, this is all speculation, but fun nonetheless.
  2. His last few tweets... "Tough Decisions Tough Decisions hmmmmmmm." 8:29pm "Ima just have to sleep on everything and keep evaluating the pro's and Con's about both programs both are really great schools. ?.?.?.?" 8:30 "At the end of the day it's still my future and my decision and where ever im at i wanna make sure im comfortable and needed." 8:33
  3. Russell Wilson is a bit of a different example because he was playing both sports at almost the exact same times, while the other guys, (Henson, Weinke, Weeden) all gave up football to pursue baseball. Not a big deal, just sayin'.
  4. That was a whole different deal. Kid did not do some things that the staff let him know he needed to do in order to keep his offer (a lot like a MInter this year) and thus the offer got pulled. Turns out it was a good decision: http://espn.go.com/c.../shawn-bodtmann Thanks, couldn't remember that guy's name!
  5. People are overreacting big time to this. Pulled offers happen. Beck should have called him sooner, but at least they told him before he made a decision. This doesn't mean Nebraska is going to go "SEC" and start oversigning and pulling offers everywhere. The last time this happened and it was a somewhat significant deal I think was in '09 with the Pennsylvania kid who played FB/C, and if I remember right, he had actually committed and we pulled it. Recruiting sucks sometimes, but that's just how it is. As others have said, this probably spells good news for someone who would be just as capable as Vandenburg, but would be a true freshman.
  6. It's 18 to get into Lincoln as a football player, but you can score as low as 16 and still get into the university, you just aren't cleared for athletics.
  7. nevermind i just heard that they would remain on PSU scholarship and play for another school, WOW! I think you misunderstood it. They are free to transfer, yes. If so, they would need a scholly at the school they go to. They can decide to not play football and still remain as a scholly athlete at Penn State. The NCAA did not say you could still have a scholarship, transfer to another school and remain a scholly athlete at Penn State ... as I heard it. well thats what i initially thought, but Lou Holtz said they would remain on scholarship at PSU while at another school. So maybe he was wrong, i have no idea. well there's your problem, don't listen to Lou Holtz. He has no idea what he's talking about. Every year he still thinks Notre Dame is a darkhorse for the National Championship.
  8. Damnit! I post my first ever topic and I'm a couple minutes too late.
  9. Name: Allen Lazard Hometown: Urbandale, Iowa School: Urbandale Position: WR Height: 6'4" Weight: 190 40 Time: Offers: Iowa, Iowa St, Nebaska (LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Wisconsin showing interest) Rivals http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Allen-Lazard-139650 Scout: http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=6249707 ESPN: http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/162082/allen-lazard 247: http://247sports.com/Player/Allen-Lazard-21011 247 has a teaser saying he made an unofficial visit and picked up an offer today, supposed to be super athletic guy. Couldn't find any highlight film other than a couple of dunks from his freshman year...
  10. Which comes first, winning at an elite level or getting elite recruits? winning at an elite level with coach up players.. catch a few breaks... etc...... Both are actually correct. Some schools end up becoming elite programs because they had elite recruiting staffs (and also probably live in recruiting hotbeds) and some schools nab top recruits for elite success on the field, even if it's (initially) without 5 star talent.
  11. We didn't get a chance to speculate whether he'd choose us over Eastern Michigan. I was expecting this thread to reach Owa/Peat levels... guess not Bad jokes aside, good to know we'll have a very strong long snapper for 4 years.
  12. visited for BRW. Rivals teaser about it today.
  13. This is the guy I want the most of any current or former QB recruit we've pursued this year.
