  1. I think Seth MacFarlane or somebody at Fox has some connection to the state, have you seen the Cleveland Show thing about WI. It was pretty funny.
  2. I agree on Michigan, they're hard to judge right now but until proven otherwise I'll stick with them. MSU might be tough too but they're at home and I think you'll win it. Wouldn't surprise me if you won out. On the sig...yea its a cool picture but I feel like an ass for having it and being a guest. I'll change it, no need to rub it in.
  3. You guys will be fine. A very favorable schedule awaits with the toughest game probably being at UM. Long term might be a little rougher, might be tougher to recruit with the conference switch...at least thats what everyone in the media seems to say but they're often wrong.
  4. I can already tell this Nebraska-Big Ten marriage is going to be awkward.
  5. Bucky > Your To-Catch-a-Predatoresque secondary mascot. I respect Herbie, lil red is weird.
  6. Most of us don't care because we have the Packers when it comes to National Excellence...13 NFL Titles baby! This kind of ticks me off. Wisconsin fans need to start recognizing the Badgers for their success. There's more to Wisconsin than just the Packers. Case in point: the Packers fourth preseason game drew higher ratings in Wisconsin than the Badgers' season opener against UNLV. Which was at night. On ESPN. Yep, its just the nature of the state, if I remember right the ratings weren't even close...the Pack had like three times as many viewers.
  7. Eh, the Badgers used to be AWFUL, just horrible, that's part of the reason you see such a difference between our middleaged fans and the "younglings". Badger fans that remember pre-Alvarez are much more humble. We just appreciate the success we're having now and enjoy it. Allow us that. Most of us don't care because we have the Packers when it comes to National Excellence...13 NFL Titles baby!
  8. Hey now, remember that time Nebraska won a national title....yeah me neither....see I can do it too. ok that was stupid...say what you will about them but they used to be pretty good, kind of like Minnesota. Ask your grandparents about it. If you have to ask your grandparents about the last time Nebraska was good, you must still be in the womb. http://en.wikipedia....l_championships Excuse me, let me clarify...I meant that about Minnesota and their 5 national championships in the 30's and 40's...oh how times have changed.

  10. Remember last night...oh I do. 48-17.
  11. Yea, I was wondering that too, he gives me the "uuh ooh" feeling.
  12. I dislike Chicago, but I have the utmost respect for them, whereas I outright hate Minnesota. If Ziygi Wilf decided to dismantle the Vikings and discontinue a franchise in the cities it wouldn't bother me the slightest..I'd have a party whereas if Chicago got a new stadium or if the Bears moved I'd be pissed. oh and no one cares about Detriot...at least before this season.
  13. Porn Cheese and Fireworks? haha It's been a few years since I lived in Wisconsin and in that time it sounds like things have changed significantly! There'd always be firework stands around July but I've never seen an Adult oriented store in WI...NEVER. I'm sure they exist, as they do everywhere but I dunno....cheese part is definitely true, cheese and beer.
  14. Of course you do, but then again, that's probably the Viking in you. Does it suck to root for an NFL team that's an embarrassment to the league and will never, ever win a Super Bowl? Dude, take it easy. These things tend to be cyclical. Just a few short years ago that "embarrassment" was in the NFCCG... Hehe, they also really learned what it's like to have Brett Favre as your QB... Wow a mud duck doesn't like Wisconsin fans? Thats surprising, jealous much? Minnesota sports are awful. Here's an example, gophers got pounded yesterday, vikes lost to an awful KC team today, while the Packers are about to follow UW's example. I feel sorry for you, it sucks to suck.
  15. Right? :rolls eyes: A friend of a friend maybe? Some cousin you knew? Sounds like sour grapes to me. Whenever you lose, someone has to come on here and in their anger turn the attention to the fanbase of the team that just vanquished them...how terrible they were...how (insert winning fanbase) "they threw beer at us and spit at us and it was terrible." So typical. Your post is false bud. And if it were true; your friend should stop going to CFB games. He obviously is more suited for a Teletubbies concert. I would accept your skepticism if this was the first time I'd heard something like this about Madison, but when fans of Iowa, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State and Purdue are all telling you that you're going to get harassed - badly - at Camp Randall, I think it carries a little more weight. Camp Randall is not well-respected as a game experience throughout the Big Ten. That's not sour grapes, that's an earned reputation. Now, the caveat to that is that I saw a TON of folks really enjoying their stay in Madison on local news last night, folks who met and got along with Wisconsin fans very well. Plus we've had I think a 100% positive bunch of Wisconsin fans register here at HuskerBoard who were both welcoming and friendly to us as the Big Ten n00bs. So clearly there are some very good, quality people rooting for Wisconsin, and the bad experiences are not wholly indicative of your fan base. Just be real. There are bad apples. Don't pretend there aren't, just like we won't pretend there aren't classless Husker fans out there. Longtime lurker first time poster, Let me start off by saying good game last night. I've always respected the Huskers and used to root for them in Big XII play so its great to now have you in the conference. You guys came out playing well and while it fell apart as the game wore on I wouldn't take it as the end of the world. We had a similar feeling after the Badgers changed up play for the Rose Bowl (passing like crazy) and we lost it, if the Huskers get back to what works for them they'll be fine. That said I just wanted to chime in on Madison Gamedays.... Yes, we, like every fan base, have some classless fans, unfortunately for us its a very large population and is for the most part students. The students are a mixed bag, they're loud and bring a lot of energy to the game but they're also vulgar and rude at times...yea we know that, we're sorry, we've tried to stop the Eat poo, F you chants...it doesn't work, they still do it (btw that chant isn't directed at visitors but at other students). Those fans aside I promise you we're not all so inhospitable. As far as the gameday experience not being well respected I don't think this could be further off base. Madison gamedays are nationally recognized as being some of the best around, maybe not toward visiting fans but look at it from our perspective...we're not used to being invaded by 20-30k opposing fans who think they're about to teach us something so yes, you're going to get some hostility. Be big boys and suck it up. You're not going to an out of town church service you're going to Camp Randall. What do you honestly expect, hugs and kisses all around? It's Wisconsin, we have nothing to do but drink and watch football, its going to get nasty. That's pretty much it. In closing I really do hope you have a great season. Now go beat the Gophers and Hawkeyes and we'll see you in Indianapolis.
