  1. Its a complete rebuild yes. However, I think that we will see a vast improvement in "want to" as early as the spring game. My prediction is we will beat Wiscy as early as year two and therefore be in the mix for a shot at the conf. championship by then. I do think it may take up to 5 years to truly compete for the playoffs. But along the way I think the blowouts will be a relic of the "wilderness years".
  2. Highly motivated teams rarely get blown out. They often punch above their weight and beat teams they shouldnt have.
  3. ouch, thisthe worst we've loooked all year, and that's saying a lot
  4. the success Tfraz had was all on him. Yep, totally
  5. south parks examination of Mormonism is all it takes to answer this....
  6. the University of Ne....I mean Football exists to provide one and only purpose: National Championships. It is and always has been this way, amiright? Not Degrees, not research, not personal growth for those that spend gagillions of dollars to get a sheet of paper that says my wah-wah squad was better than Saban's wah-wah squad. Manziel would have too much character to represent this state.
  7. well at least its clear who comes down on which side of one my questions.... what is this "college" you speak of?????
  8. If ever there was a time for the CLASSY FANS we are known to be to buoy this program, its now.
  9. because this isnt war, its a game. And it is a university's job to earn that money(SCHOLARSHIP OR NOT) by providing what they offered to the children they promised to turn into adults.
  10. Nebraska: Irish-German ancestry. Thinking that alcohol was always our friend...
  11. The players have the coaches and each other, as fans we have this board. If they don't like what we are saying, don't visit the board. They should care more about each other and the team than what a bunch anonymous; fans, posters, and armchair coaches have to say. Fair point. However, I keep seeing stories in the real press that mention that everyone of those kids has ipad. If i was that age, with that ease of access, dont know how I would avoid at least taking a peek. Ever gone down a wikipedia rabbithole? Im only saying that this team is young, with lots of potential. And its not helpful for this fanbase to be this toxic. Good on ya, mate! I know this is easier said, but those guys should be playing for the team, each other, and their coaches. If they aren't disciplined and mentally tough enough to leave this and other sites alone, then maybe we shouldn't be surprised at their performance on the field. I think a better analogy would be to compare this sites impact on the players, with WebMDs impact on a hypochondriac. you made my wife laugh at me Thanks.

Im just not gonna pay to say it. those kids are better at seeing AAALLL of the internet stuff, just a guess.
  13. ya im trying to post the keanu reeves quicksand speech.... but my web-fu is weak my masters....
  14. I did not blame the internet, but i dont blame u for getting that impression.

  16. Hey Everyone, First off, hello to all of you. Im not a big poster here, or anywhere for that matter.(especially if i have to pay 20$ a year to do it) Second, Im as torn up about what happened today as anyone. It really hurt to be sooo encouraged by the level of play in the 1st half, and then watch the wheels come off in the second. Third, I dont have any answers other than this: NONE OF US ARE AS BROKEN RIGHT NOW AS THOSE KIDS ARE! They are just kids, and the first half showed that they put alot of their hearts into prepping for this week. And they still didnt figure out what it takes to play a 60 minute game of football. Can you imagine what that must feel like? Look, my point is this: The players have the coaches and their own thoughts to break down how they failed today. Those kids read ALOT of what goes on sites like this, and I truly think they let it get in their heads. Especially at a time like this. Its time to stop and take a breath folks. Its time for us as fans to evaluate ourselves. We love College Football, but there are two words there: College & Football. As a Husker fan, which of them matters more to you? As the lifeblood of this proud program & tradition, isnt it us, the fans, who should be thinking long term about these young mens lives? Shouldnt we be the parental figures that pick em up, dust em off, and keep teaching them what it really means to be from Nebraska? Thanks for your time. My name is Tony. I dont always have answers, but when i do, Its because I always ask questions.
  17. Thanks for dropping a line D1! It was a great game, very exciting! I have always had a lot of respect for Mich. St., always scrappy. I have always thought it would terrifying to face a defense with a Dennard on its roster, turns out to be true!
  18. i cant be the only to see KB and think: Rubber Band Man! I love this offense
  19. halftime nerves...sheesh But wow Taylor looks great! and they werent joking about our receivers. Defense is giving me hives though. Happy Football Season everyone! GO BIG RED!!!!
  20. just adding my two cents as im kinda new here.... But i have always had more respect for the more traditional uniforms in college football, ie. notre dame, pennstate, the Huskers... i really dont want anything but the old red'n'white. heck, id prefer it if we could puh-lease take the names off the jerseys! The only thing I really liked in the pics provided was the font for the numbers on the jerseys. As for black in our color scheme, 1) That is only for practice jerseys, and thats the tradition, and 2) whats with wanting to be like Georgia? Also, I liked it better when teams only used two colors, college, pro, or otherwise. Finally, I will admit that first time i saw the photo of that black helmet(with the traditional 'N') earlier this year, I was intrigued, but I still take a silly sort of pride in the simplicity of our look. So, at most, for me at least, maybe every now and then, but thats the depth of my comprimise.
  21. just checking to see if im doing this right. its been a hard couple years...whole lot of dead goin round. this tune helps keep me from becoming a liabilty to those who rely on me.
  22. these huskers havent given up yet and neither should we. When the kids quit, thats when I worry
