  1. Congrats to Dan S, J Banderas and J Stanton on their bumps to 4 star land. Our coaches have a good eye and great ability to look under every stone for players.
  2. With Hannon committing, the ball is now in Boyd's court. The Huskers haven't fared well lately trying to do package deals with recruits. It's time to break that string and get Boyd on the Husker wagon. Pull the trigger Jamone!
  3. A very nice summary of recruiting this year. We are filling quite a few needs with some quality kids. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say we are in the 8 range. Sandland and Johnson would push us over the top and address 2 serious needs. We seriously need a couple more good/great O linemen. The LB position is well stocked. I'll look forward to the season and the kids that eventually sign an LOI.
  4. Mr Redd to USuC. Hope that works out for ya.
  5. It has to be fun for Josh Banderas to be able to play his senior season with a new friend. The SW coaches probably had to pinch themselves to see if they were dreaming. Tough for the kid who was going to be the starting DE @ LSW. I wish Christian a great senior season, his sister also is moving and I hope her transfer works out well. On the other hand, what would we say about a highly touted recruit for another school whose mom found a "job" in the university's city. It has happened a few times recently and we weren't so kind. I don't doubt everything is on the up and up with Christian and his mom's employment status and I'm certainly not saying our coaching staff had any role in this situation.
  6. We've had good luck with DB's named Brown (Mike and Ralph). Lets try for a third.
  7. I've been looking for some new music and I'll look for more of them.
  8. Dobson's input seems to be one more piece of the puzzle to getting the Huskers where they want to be. Another glass of Kool Aid please!
  9. The important thing is as always....Johnny "fits" in our program. I think our coaches, starting at Bo and all the way through to the most recent hire, want to develop a culture at Nebraska that fits the state. These kids come to Lincoln from all over the country and have varying experiences....some good, some not so good and some come out of great families and great programs. For the most part they are all high achievers, good work ethic and have the integrity our coaches want. It sounds like the coaches also have a Nebraska way of recruiting as well. As some of the kids we recruit fly under the radar of a lot of other programs, our coaches want more time to develop a relationship with those kids so when the other big schools come calling we already have a leg up. "Day by day we get better and better. A team that can't be beat won't be beat." GBR
  10. I have no problem with changing the unis once or twice a year and I'm 60 years old. I hope the players had considerable input into the designs. I root for the team not the jerseys, so whatever they come out of the locker rooms wearing is fine with me....unless they are pink....gosh I hate seeing that color on the field.
  11. Something tells me that not many of the current players will jump ship. I see them riding this out together. New recruits however may not want to be a part of the dumpster fire that is PSU right now.
  12. It's quite ok to talk about retired quarterbacks....just please do it in a thread about retired quarterbacks. If there isn't one feel free to start one.
  13. I am often too harsh on ratings services I think. We have to realize Stanton has only played one year as a Qb. His first two years of high school he was a def back. All the more reason for them to reassess him soon. He should mature a lot and grow by leaps and bounds in his understanding of the game. He has a great coach who will push him hard too.
  14. At the rate they are going there might not be a Miami to play in 2 years. USF might be the premier team in Miami by then.
  15. Had Johnny committed three weeks ago to a school like USC, Stanford, Alabama or LSU, then he would have made a jump to light speed to a 5* already. Doesn't matter to me though, I think we have a good one in JS and I'll look forward to hearing what his high school team does this year. Enjoy this year Johnny.
  16. Looks like the conspiracy theorists will have to be put on hold: http://www.reuters.c...E86J0AM20120722 I saw that too and am happy the police were able to disarm the apartment. Let's hope they can dig through his records and discover enough evidence to answer the questions we all have. If he had help in the planning, I hope they can find the person. No amount of answers will remove the pain from those who lost loved ones and must go on with their lives.
  17. It would seem that anything or anyone that touches the Hurricane program gets slimed. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ncaaf--hurricanes-coach-al-golden-s-staff-used-booster-s-associate-in-potential-recruiting-violations.html The NCAA has more issues to sort out. I have a feeling the NCAA doesn't want to issue the Death Penalty again but if there is fire under this smoke how could they not come down hard?
  18. I don't believe in ET or any of his relatives. I think it is a function of todays governments to keep the people occupied with junk news. It gives all the obsessive/compulsives something to obsess about so they won't be digging into government business. I have no doubt our government has weapons and flying devices that we (others...not me) occasionally see in the sky. It sells newspapers, fills tv time and gives anyone so inclined, endless hours on the internet. I'll happily spend my spare time here on HuskerBoard! :-)
  19. I was of the understanding that this weekends event was the Elite 11 finals and not a regional?
  20. I just read a news flash that said the Aurora Police would use a robot to detonate the apartment where this young man apparently booby trapped. It's understandable that no bomb expert in their right mind would want to do this job, but the conspiracy theorists will say that doing this will destroy most of the evidence and cover the tracks of "anyone" who may have helped him.
  21. You forgot your sarcasm sticky but I get your drift. I'm afraid a lot of people will jump on the bandwagon to limit/eliminate gun and ammo sales. With over 300 million people in our country, it's not hard to see that 2 or 3 a year would go psycho enough to want to live out the video games they have been playing for 10 years. Unfortunately it is part of the society we live in and attempting to take away guns under the guise of making society more safe is futile.
  22. We may not know who or what teams are still contacting him....especially after the good showing in the Elite 11. It sounds like he loved his experience here and likes the coaches, players and our offense.
  23. There is a lot of potential for Beck to make this offense a very good one in years to come. The longer our offense has the ball the less time the other teams offense has to do the same. It's time for a few high school receivers, running backs and O Linemen to step up and see what Nebraska has coming. Get on the bandwagon and play in a bunch of BCS Bowls, Conference Championships, and National Championship Games. There I said it.
  24. Interesting...along with Harlow, other OL recruits Quessenberry and Hinnant are within an easy drive of Stanton. Stanton would be south Orange County along with Harlow...Q is north San Diego County and Hinnant is north Orange County. Thinking Stanton should take these guys out for a lunch or dinner soon! Good call, he already had lunch with Harlow, and he set up a second visit with his mom. Looking good for us. Me likey!
  25. It's easy to see why a few PSU players/commits might get cold feet with the discussions around the Big 10 this week. If Ross is going to jump, there is a great place in Lincoln Nebr he could spend 4 or 5 great years.
