  1. Noah Vedral commits to Scott Frost and UCF this morning.

  2. Brandon Vandenberg, former football player @ Vanderbilt was declared guilty of aggravated rape at the 2nd trial for this case. If I read correctly Tennessee has a 15 year minimum sentence with no possibility of parole.

    1. Decked

      Decked

Almost landed him too. Real great guy.

  3. Prayers to the Nebraska family that lost their 2 year old child to an alligator attack at a Disney resort last evening. I can't imagine the pain they are feeling today.

I've got a 1.5 year old and a 3 year old and this story has been tearing at me all day. It'd be an insurmountable tragedy if I were in the father's shoes...

My thinking is that I don't want a former coach, who wants to be a comedian, who isn't funny, trying to bring humor to an important game like this. Save it for the "Directional State vs Sisters of the Poor."

  7. After watching tonight's 30 for 30 about the Duke Lacrosse team, I wonder how much money Duke Univ had to pay to coaches and players who were hung out to dry. I'm guessing (multiple) 10's of millions.

    1. QMany

      QMany

The three main characters as well as 38(!) others reached undisclosed settlements. I doubt it was cheap.

    2. killer cacti

Duke bought the house where the party happened and immediately turned it down. It was right down the road from where we almost got married.

  8. The fix is on. The first hands to the face call was bogus and that was not a TD. His heel was on the line.

  11. I find it funny that our last two OC's now work at Texas and Ohio St and fans of either school would be happy if they were gone.

    1. Count 'Bility

I remember being told i was wrong about beck. Urban meyer hired him said all we beeded to know. Yet, they have considerably regressed in both offensive production and qb play. The ONLY difference is Beck.

    2. NUance

      NUance

Both Beck and Watson were probly better than what Husker fans gave them credit for. OCs are always get too much blame and not enough credit.

    3. DrunkOffPunch

      DrunkOffPunch

I'd say the loss of Herman hurt them more than the addition of Beck. Add in what seems like some locker room drama and rotating QBs and it's not a huge surprise.

  12. In what universe is the "Dan Lebatard Show" with "Stu Gatz" even mildly entertaining or informative? I've tried several times the last few weeks to listen to the show and within 5 minutes I want to push a screwdriver into my ears.

I was just thinking the same the other day. All the time they interview athletes, ask stupid questions, athletes don't play along with their stupidity and they blame the athlete for a bad interview. I don't know how they have jobs.

Can't listen to it. I listen to The Ticket in Dallas now. ESPN chose poorly in replacing Cowturd.

Is there something about the east coast mentality (in this case Miami) that their humor works there? I don't see it working in the midwest or west coast. And what is the deal with Stu Gatz and the Italian accent?

  13. King Frazier scores for NDSU. I always liked this kid.

Yeah, glad to see him doing well up there.

  14. On a recent trip I drove from Wash DC back to central Nebr. Two states vie for the title of worst interstate road conditions. Indiana noses out Illinois. Both states were pathetic. Spent the night in Columbus OH and drove to see the stadium before leaving.

After living in Michigan three months I will rarely bitch about streets in Lincoln from now on. In fact idk even know why they're tearing up 70th street.

    3. TonyStalloni

      TonyStalloni

The interstate between Omaha and home were easily the best hiways I drove on. The worst stretches are better than most states best. I agree with you hammerhead. States can't be spending their gas tax revenue on road repair.

    4. ZRod

      ZRod

They can, it's just wildly expensive to repair a road correctly.

  15. Today Britney Griner filed for an annulment from her wife of 28 days who yesterday announced she was pregnant. Bout all that would make this even more convoluted would be if Bruce Jenner was the father.

I don't think Schefter was pointing out that he got overpaid. He just got out fast. Seems like a smart move. Although he missed out on potential millions, given his production.

"We can run on anybody" is patently false. An FCS team proved that.
