  1. His girlfriend has a scholarship with Alabama already, which unfortunately probably had alot to do with it. Imagine the hostilities between those two women YIKES. I wonder how she was feeling about the start of the 4th quarter last night......
  2. It's unfortunate that Carnes didn't get more playing time. I realize theres an injury factor to it, like anything football related, but you would think there would be a way to get Carnes in a few plays a game. Wouldn't have to be at QB, but maybe spread out wide to catch a reverse and throw, keep, etc. At least that way the kid could get some PT and feel like a bigger part of the design. Incorporate him into an option play like the handoff to Rex with a pitch to Abdullah, etc. Just something, throw the kid a bone. Hell, a play like that could mean the difference between winning and losing in a close game. If he's one of the better athletes on the team, which he probably is, then find ways to get him out there. He looked great in the spring game. I know I know its just a spring game but I know what i saw with my own two eyes that day. I saw a kid that could make this offense even better than it was.
  3. I have the same feeling which actually means he goes on an unprecedented run of greatness. Damn my gut instincts always being wrong!
  4. Arky or Georgia would be good games, drop back passers are Bo's specialty. Wouldn't mind Texas either.
  5. Was it exciting? Not really. Was it a win? Yep. I'll take door #2.
  6. Is it crappy football? Yep. Instead of complaining about it, if I'm a coach (offensive coordinator specifically), I'm going to do my best to exploit it. When the player goes down, a backup has to come in, someone who's cold from standing on the sidelines. I'm running a play specifically at that position EVERY TIME it happens to send a message. Hopefully in the process, a big play occurs because of a lesser player, out of position, mistackle, etc. and the opposing coach reconsiders this tactic. whining about it just sends the wrong message.
  7. Jimmy Johnson once took a national title contending team into South Bend to play Notre Dumb. The game was close and late in the game Miami was driving and a ball was fumbled as a Miami player stretched it across the goal line. It was ruled a fumble and Notre Dame took possession of the ball. There was no instant replay ruling, even though by viewing the replay it seemed obvious that a) the ball crossed the goal line b) the player was down c) the ground caused the fumble Miami lost the game and it cost them the national title as it was their only loss that year. Now I'm not a Jimmy Johnson fan by any means and quite honestly, I despise the guy. But I totally respect what he told his players after the game in regards to the play that many of them were saying the refs "cost them the game" on. "Don't put yourself in a situation where a ref's decision can determine the outcome of a game that YOU can determine by the way you play."
  8. Which would be a terminable offense if I were his boss. That is a very bold, and a very unwise, move by Paterno. Nothing he has to say right now can be of any benefit to anyone. This needs to go to trial. He'll have ample time to tell his side of the story at that point. I cannot imagine what he has to say that is worth taking this step. Unless he's wanting to say he's stepping down. That is highly likely, but still stupid. Today is not the day for Joe to go rogue. Although if he did step down (thus the reason he's trying to speak out), he could alleviate a lot of the pressure directed at the University by being the sacrificial lamb similar to what Tressel did for OSU. It would allow for some healing before the weekend to allow the focus to be put on him as opposed to the University and the team. Americans have always loved to pin the blame on the lone shooter.

  10. Did they stop having mass when the catholic priests got busted?
  11. Did anyone else hear what appears to be a sawing sound around 17 minutes? I thought I was going nuts (nuttier).
  12. NW offense shouldn't have been too difficult to figure out. The play generally involved Kain Coulter in some capacity.
  13. Bowfin nailed it. 100% accurate description of Bevo fan.
  14. I'm on Shaggybevo quite a bit. The impression a year ago was that we were obsessed with losing to Texas. That may have been the case, I don't know. To me it doesn't seem like most Nebraska fans give a crap about Texas anymore. Interestingly enough, it seems now that the Texas fans are the ones obsessed with Nebraska. How the tables (appear) to have turned.
