  1. Not playing this year to save eligibility and graduate at semester. Pretty much down to Nebraska and Utah. Visiting Utah in two weeks then making a decision. Says if Utah's academic programs don't measure up to Nebraska's, he'll pick Nebraska. If it's close, he'll have a tough decision. Also hearing from TCU and Oregon State.
  2. Instead of Cockrell, absolutely. Haven't been impressed with him since he got here. At all. Gerry and Williams should be the starting safeties.
  3. So your assertion that the play wasn't legal isn't founded on the rule, it's founded on the argument that MSU put forth about what they think happened? Interesting.
  4. Yet the word "initiated" is no where to be found ... except in your posts.
  5. Led the team with 14 tackles tonight - 9 solo. 4 more than the next highest player. Added two pass breakups (team high). He hasn't played as well as I expected him to but the trashing on his is completely over the top.
  6. Link So ... the word "force" isn't even in there. All there has to be is "contact". There was definitely contact. Correct (non) call. The catch is if it is judged that Rielly initiated the contact. The defensive player is entitled to his position. If the offensive player continues to run into the defender that is not considered contact by the defender causing him to go out of bounds. Its a judgment call for sure. I think its a bad call. But, I also don't care. I think we were going to score anyway and plenty of calls have cost us games that were alto worse. Michigan St. did not lose because of that play. They lost by not putting us away and leaving themselves in a position where a judgment call whether something like this or PI could cost them the game. Kick the field goal in the first quarter and this doesn't lose you the game. Don't throw a pick with great field position in the first half. Sparty had plenty of chances to win this but at the end of the day we made the plays when it mattered most. Over the course of 60 min. we beat them. Where are you getting any of what you just posted from the rule above?
  7. Here's a couple questions for those who like to point out how many walk-ons we have playing (aside from showing how much different the current team is from past Husker teams): Which receiver that we've played this year would you trade for Brandon Reilly? Which fullback/special teamer that we've played this year would you trade for Janovich?
  8. 9 catches for 143 yards and a TD. And took a beating.
  9. Through the first five plays of the fourth quarter, we ran 32 running plays (for 176 yards - 5.7 ypa other than the kneel down) and 24 passing plays (13 completions - 54% - 180 yards - 7.5 ypa - 2 INTs). So when we actually COMMIT to the running game (for the most part), we can run for 176 yards in just over three quarters against the #19 rushing defense in the country. For comparison's sake, Oregon - they of the #6 rushing offense in the country - ran for 123 yards at a 2.9 yards per carry clip for THE ENTIRE GAME. After that, we were down by two scores and running out of time so passing was necessary and expected. But we CAN run the ball. It's just a matter or WANTING to run the ball.
  10. Here is the actual rule: Link So ... the word "force" isn't even in there. All there has to be is "contact". There was definitely contact. Correct (non) call.
  11. Yep Remember when we weren't getting calls because bo yelled to much. That was a fun story
