  1. If you knew when and how I became a husker fan you wouldn’t say that. It is definitely amazing. You’re basically arguing that playing Illinois, Purdue and Minnesota far worse than we played Oklahoma, Michigan, and Michigan state is ok and a sign of progress because the first three have a combined 14-11 record. if it’s ok to lose to halfway decent teams, why even try? Why recruit and prepare? Why compete? what kind of opponent in division 1 would you consider it unacceptable to lose to?
  2. That wording definitely indicates conversations are being had, and some studies and reviews are being conducted. It also likely means the three of them are not all in agreement right now on what they should do. Get blown out against Ohio state with fans leaving early, and it’s over in the bye week.
  3. Only way Scott frost should come back is if he agrees to step down to become offensive coordinator. he just doesn’t have the correct skill set required to succeed at this level. Either that or he has seen and knows what it takes, but refuses to do that because he thinks his way is still ok.
  4. that's called having a terrible defense. that's not quite the same as having a terrible team. its amazing to me how nebraska fans could ever justify being at the bottom of a conference 5 years in a row because other teams are supposedly playing better.
  5. When you lose to every P5 team you play, regardless of how close you play them, it's called being terrible at football. Arkansas and south carolina aren't getting credit for being doormats in a tough SEC.
  6. the sellout streak is DOA if we go to northwestern with frost.
  7. Doesn't matter. if we were truly improved we would have better showings against illinois, minnesota, and purdue. lets stop the straw clutching. same reasons we weren't competitive and couldn't close out games in year 1 and 2 are the same reasons in year 4.
  8. if Trev brings frost back, he can say byebye to the sellout streak. At this point, i really don''t think he can have both for next year, unless he convinces ohio State, Iowa, and Wisconsin to forfeit their games.
  9. if that's what it takes for frost to come back, and TA signs off on that, then UNL Athletics is in trouble.
  10. He’s currently taking classes in the frost school of discipline
  11. How do you know we can’t get a power 5 guy?
  12. Looks like we spent the bye week prepping for that opening drive, and that drive alone.
  13. I think we will know by the end of the first quarter of the Purdue game.
  14. Given that frost has way more talent than Maryland to work with, in a worse division, I’d say he’s the worst. As far as unpopular hot takes go, I think frost is probably the best/smartest play designer. For those who might get this analogy, frost is a genius level football engineer, where being a head coach means being a football foreman, of sorts.
  15. you sound miserable, by your own definition.
  16. there really isn't much to justify nebraska beating any of the teams left on the schedule.
  17. so... calling out incompetence and asking for excellence is now being miserable? lol you must be fun to work with.
  18. well, self-deception is far worse than being whiny. hopefully you at least admit that to yourself.
  19. As you should be. But there is no reason or justification for optimism whatsoever. at least not with any of the things that the Head coach is directly responsible for. if he could not find it in himself and his program to make sure he showed up ready and motivated for a poor Minnesota team that has given them heaps of bulletin board material, and has destroyed them 2 years in a row, then he probably just doesn't have the necessary skills to do so.
  20. Frost is 1-2 against them, and has dropped 2 in a row against Illinois, Minnesota, and Purdue.
  21. lol i'll bet you said this exact same thing last year. but, let's play along. if it is true that "any potential candidates are going to scoff at the idea of coming here", then what will suddenly make them not scoff if scott frost gets fired next year? potential coaches worth their salt aren't looking at the schedule thinking it's hard or easy. it's the Big Ten. it's always hard.
  22. the argument isn't that it's Martinez' fault we lost. the argument is that when he gets into a position lead a game-sealing or game-tying drive, regardless of how well or poorly he has played all game, he chokes. at this point, its reality. it's why nebraska is 5-17 in one score games. can the team do better on defense, OL, and ST? of course. but the point is that when Martinez is put in those positions against any defense with a pulse, he crashes and burns. all by himself. regardless of the playcalling.
