  1. We are 5 games into the season and I am not calling for anyone's head. That being said could we see some changes to the staff for next season? Some possibilities: Josh Martin- replaced Wager but felt like he was filling the void more than being hired for the role. Does Rhule hire another coach. Raiola- I don't believe Dylan was the sole reason Raiola was retained but did it play any part at all and after 2 season at Nebraska, does Rhule make a change. Possible replacement: Jake Peetz- almost came on board last year but appeared to be a better nfl opportunity that seemingly never materialized. Does he join Nebraska this off-season?
  2. Recently wondered what would have happened had Nebraska joined the SEC instead of the BIG 10. The SEC would have provided better recruiting. Nebraska. During Covid Nebraska would have fit in better with the SEC wanting to play football. With Texas and Oklahoma joining the BIG 10, schedules could include more natural rivals games such as Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and LSU every year. The BIG 10 is the ohio state michigan conference and will be even if ohio state and Michigan falter and other teams rise up. The SEC has more teams that have been good so if Nebraska had a good season they would get more attention than being in the big 10. The big 10 has prided itself in its prestigious education and white collar way of doing things. Nebraska's blue collar hard-working agricultural identity hasn't been a good fit.
  3. I like rhule but don't believe in offering a bunch of 0 star kids scholarships. I know he has some experience getting lowly recruited guys to the nfl but was hoping to see Rhule develop 4 star players. Will this be our lowest recruiting class ever? Tell me what I am missing?
  4. He wouldn't be my first choice, but how about will muschamp? He is a great defensive mind and had some success at south carolina before getting canned. If paired with great offensive coordinators could be interesting. Muschamp 5 million a year contract Offensive coordinator: Monken or chadwell at 3 million a year. Or someone like Tom herman or Dan mullen
  5. Our wide receivers and running backs have improved dramatically. I hope both coaches are retained when a new coach is hired.
  6. I doubt we go after him but Mike tressel would be a home run hire. He has experience with both linebackers and special teams. He currently makes $667,385 at Michigan State.
  7. Over the last 2 decades one pet peeve of mine is that whenever the current coach at the time isn't succeeding (to expectations) and some fans start clamoring for changes the rebuttle is always no one would want to coach at nebraska or no one could succeed at nebraska. We need to give frost a chance to get this done, but if in a couple years the results are not there, I hope we stop hearing this. Nebraska out-recruits all of its divisional opponents nearly every year. Nebraska can pay more than most coaching jobs. Nebraska has more history/tradition than most schools. Nebraska's facilities (especially with the upgrade) are amongst the best.
  8. The difference is that frost has had a top ranked offense (in his career) whereas chinander has never had a great defense. Also as far as talent and depth, one could argue we had more talent on defense with guys like lamar jackson, daniels, davis twins, etc than on offense. On offense in addition to youth, we had injuries all over the place and had very little depth. I don't think it is fair to give chinander a pass because we slightly improved. If you take a test and get a 50% and then take another test and get 55% you dont congratulate yourself for improving. You fail the course. Same could be said of a couple other assistant coaches. I think frost may be able to turn around the offense (based on his past success at other programs) but he is still responsible for the whole team. Miniscule improvement isn't going to cut it in any faucet of the game.
  9. I would love to see mike tressel from michigan State. Frost could always do a co-defensive coordinator type thing as well.
  10. With Arkansas getting a new staff any chance turner would come back to nebraska for some sort of analyst or assistant coach role?
  11. *We wont lose on black Friday *Iowa won't end our season next year *Wont lose to atleast 2 teams that beat us this year.
  12. What ever happened with this guy? At one point thought he may be a grayshirt.
  13. For those who don't think Chinander is getting it done, who would you take? Muschamp?
  14. All the rage right now seems to be moving to a 8 team playoff. Frost is for it but I am against it. Here's why: I want the season to matter. Yes you have to have a good season to get into playoff position but lose a couple games and as long as you play good at the end of the season, it will not negatively effect you. p5 champions should not automatically get in. All the talk is about 5 p5 champions and 3 at large, but what about when your conference champion has an average/poor record? what about the last team left out: There will always be a last team left out that is arguably as good as the last team in. 4 or more post regular season games: add up your conference championship and your playoff games and to become a champion you have to play a heck of a lot of games. other bowl games mean even less:woohoo you get into the orange, fiesta, rose bowl, etc with a terrible record because all capable teams are in playoff. less undefeated champions: Tom Osborne went for 2 against Miami because he believed to be a champion you had to beat your opponent. Adding to the playoff will increase the chances of teams having 2, 3, or more losses. Hype: Certain teams seem to get overranked because of their name (not their performance) i.e. notre dame higher chance of playing teams multiple times same season. Imagine a year where Nebraska beats ohio state in the regular season only to lose in the conference championship but gets an at large bid and play again in the playoffs Wrong champion: Coinciding with the first one. Is the champion the best team or the team that played the best at the end of the season? hard on fans: unless they are going to move games to college campuses, how many of you super fans can travel 3 or 4 weeks in a row to watch nebraska play?
  15. So I am not sure why this is so challenging for Bill Moos and the Big 10 conference but our schedule should be Iowa on veterans day weekend and Wisconsin for black Friday!
  16. Why is Michigan always considered a premier program and Nebraska not? I completely get Nebraska has struggled the last 20 years but truth be told so has Michigan. In fact it may interest you to know that since 1997 when Nebraska and Michigan shared the National Championship game, Nebraska has won 171 games to Michigan's 165. Our win percentage is 66.02% to Michigan's 65.48% and we have beaten them head to head 3 out of the 4 times played (since 1998) including the last two. With this being said why is Michigan continually placed amongst the elite teams and Nebraska not?
  17. Part 2 of the husker QB poll. Who do you take?
  18. Interested to see the most beloved/most despised husker QB in nebraska history.
  19. We haven't named a head coach yet but a change looks to be coming. Whoever we hire as the head coach, who are some of the big name assistant coaches you would like to see?
  20. Listening to 1620 the zone and they mention that husker fans don't want an offense like Scott frost's. Sure Nebraska fans have fond memories of Tom Osborne offenses but I think husker fans realize that we are not going to that type of offense and when fans say they want Scott frost they know what they are getting. Heck, I have watched several UCF games. I think an offense like Scott's would be helpful because it is geared toward speed. We have several wide receivers who would already fit his system (Lindsey, Spielman). His system is one that helps the qb out because it is very fast moving and with a struggling line a qb isn't stuck holding the football too long. Hopefully this would allow time for a new line coach to develop a line. His offenses have a mobile qb which I think Nebraska fans appreciate. One bright side of today's loss was seeing a qb willing to tuck the ball and run when no wr was open...The play calling was still atrocious. Walkons- we have had a few big name walk ons under Riley but I would only see this improving with a coach from wood river nebraska. Demeanor- Scott frost always seems to have an intense demeanor while remaining cool and collected... One coaching moment that sticks in my memory is Scott frost dragging Oregon player Blount off the field.. He also lined up as qb in practice to help prepare UCF fir a game against an option qb. I have no doubt he can gain the teams respect and they will play hard for him. Hire Frost!
  21. When we hire our next coach I hope we don't go discount bargain shopping. While I don't think it is wise to throw exceptional amount of money on an unproven coach, in today's age of football you have to pay any one 3-4 million to stay competitive and if it is a proven coach perhaps more. Too often i feel nebraska makes itself less attractive not because of unrealistic expectations, or because of location, but because we try to get a "bargain" and expect them to do their job as good as people making 2-3 time the amount. As a result it seems likely we will be paying 3 coaches salaries; riley's, pelini's, and the new coach. If I was ad, for my next hire, I think I would right a contract where there was a base salary of 3-4 million then a million extra for every win after 8. This way every year a person would earn their paycheck.
