  1. I'll agree with you, this is awesome. Though I am thinking we have to wait until Sunday, not today.
  2. bigredinsd may be approaching Donny levels
  3. I bet we know within 36 hrs From what I've been told from my boss who played and worked with some players from the 80's they said to look for half time at the Creighton v Lincoln game for the announcement. He also mentioned that big money boosters are on board with Tressel/Frost.
  4. They have all those championships before WW2, really appealing to kids these days.
  5. Ya, i think it will be one of those 7 or 8. doubt you'll see a Cally hire none of us saw coming. I still think the staff they assemble is far more important than the HC. So I want an HC that is able to put together a rockstar staff of quality assistants that recruit well. The rules out Frost as HC IMO. Del Rio could put the staff together, but I don't think he could do the CEO side of things as a college coach. Kirby Smart is intriguing, but I doubt he's plucking anyone from Alabama and his entire coaching tree is centered around Saban and most of those guys are either coordinators or HCs already. Not sure what kind of staff he's bring together. Dan Quin and Greg Roman are just downgrades to Del Rio. Mel Tucker is intriguing w/ his ties to the B1G and the upper midwest - but we're still going to be recruiting the south. Graham, Hudspeth, and McElwain are interesting in a "jerry kill" sort of way - in that they'd like bring the bulk of their staff with them. That continuity would help with the transition. Agreed, I posted somewhere last year that I thought Del Rio would be a good hire. I think with the connections and stuff that he's got from years of coaching would set us up nicely in the coordinator department. I could see a similar transition to what UCLA experienced with hiring Mora. The CEO part is the major question mark, but I do like how he fits. Plus we all know that recruits love to play for someone with any sort of NFL background
  6. I think he named every coach in the country so that he can say 'i told ya so' when we make a change. I read clear to the end when he said to keep Garrison but didn't list Brown. Most of this article is a pipe dream that completely discounts the fact that whoever we hire likely will not have a relationship with any of these guys. Especially when he pushes for Frost as HC and then lists a multitude of coaches that he pulls out of left field. I don't like the nepotism that existed within Bo's staff, but don't want this next one to be a hodgepodge of people pulled from around the country with little to no experience with one another or the scheme - which is my primary concern with Frost - his lack of connections within the coaching community. He's not bringing staff from Oregon, he's going to bring a handful of grad assistants with him instead. Sound familiar? Towards the bottom he kind of sums it up. Thought there were quite a few similarities from what you see on the board, no saying the article is gospel, just that it was a decent read.

  8. Blanket response, I think everyone just needs to take five minutes and write them a quick e-mail, flood their inboxes.
  9. I'm Mr. Sanders Wait, I thought I was Mr. Sanders.. or am I Tim? I think we're in the Matrix
  10. Article on Huskermax that just lists several coach possibilities, I understand its Huskermax, but I thought it was a decent article. http://forum.huskermax.com/vbbs/content.php?818-Pernell-Coaching-candidates-Eichorst-should-consider
  11. I just brought up points that I thought would show our disgust from a fans stand point, e-mail one yourself I am actually curious to see if they are truly flooded and are just using blanket responses
  12. I too am totally against BB, not sayin that he isn't a good coach, but it's everything else I don't like. I can think of several other coaches that I would place higher. No order: Jack Del Rio Hudspeth Tressel Holliday Whittingham
  13. I am all for Jack Del Rio, from what I understand he interviewed for the USC Jo. But was passed over.
  14. I like the idea of going after someone like Jack Del Rio, from my understanding he interviewed for USC(alma mater) but was passed over. I know that it is worrisome to go after another NFL guy but Del Rio did a lot with little in Jacksonville and would definitely have the connections and smarts to get able bodied assistants
  15. Agree almost completely. I think the situation at runningback going forward in an interesting one. From everything I have Adam Taylor is a force and would have been in the mix this year, I can't say because I've never seen him on the field but it will be interesting how we maximize our each rb's output without making things confusing. I hope that we see two back formations without having to utilize the jet sweep, like knapp said we have the personnel, it all comes down to the execution and coaching.
  16. I think Clare's is tclare@nebraska.edu, same follows suit for the rest, first initial, last name and then @nebraska.edu. I didn't think there was much sense in e-mailing hawks or schafer as they're big Bo supporters.
  17. You guys are actually both correct I'm Colonel Marvin Sanders
  18. Good morning Mr. Clare, As a life long husker fan and proud supporter of all things husker I had a couple questions I would appreciate if you could take the time to answer them it would be greatly appreciated. 1. Myself and many other husker fans are wondering if there are plans in place to make changes to the football team? I ask this because after a disastrous end to last season and the way the coach was caught talking about our very loyal fan base in such a negative way we were assured that things would be better but this season feels eerily similar to years past. 2. Our coach is quoted as saying the the national perception is worse locally then it is nationally, does the board and AD Eichorst also feel this way? 3. Lastly, though we are regarded as one of the more loyal college football fan bases in the nation how long are we expected to put up with mediocrity and to be disrespected by our head coach?
  19. I e-mailed regent Tim Clare is regards to concerns I collected from huskerboard and Twitter. The response I got was generalized and a bit of a blanket response. I don't know why I originally sent it, but I do hope I am not the only one, here is the response I got. Mr. Sanders: Thank you for your e-mail and for your support of UNL. I have confidence in our Athletic Department and Shawn Eichorst to do what is necessary for our entire athletic department, including the football program. Again, we appreciate your input. Tim
  20. Just two examples of coaches who failed. I mean it's totally possible our next coach wins 6 games regularly and flames out. But at some point you have to take the risk, right? Agreed and as bad as Hoke is/was he still succeeded on the big stage once and won a BCS game.
  21. Never realized there was this dude kissing going on.
  22. could it be that he was just resonating the feelings of the truly important folks? I e-mailed the regents and kind of went off, said that any of Power 5 conference school with a fanbase as devout as ours would have fired the coach last year after the tape recording, but all that we were given was a forced apology and the same mediocre football we've grown ever so sick of. Two out of the four as Bo-lobbyists though. This whole process would already be over had Smith beaten Schafer in the election.
  23. Seen a lot of names thrown in the ring by a many husker faithful, one name I am stunned that has not been mentioned.......Carl Spackler, search over, you heard it here first!
