  1. good one!!!! How long did it take to think of that one?
  2. There is a mass exodus going on at USC right now!!
  3. We actually ran this some against Georgia and it was working until Ameer fumbled it and we lost momentum. With Adam Taylor and Newby coming in this year. It would not surprise me if we saw a ton of the pistol. I don't think we use it exclusively though.
  4. My assumption is that Nebraska will be running the zone read a lot more out of the Pistol formation next year which is a much better way to run the offense in my opinion anyways. Think about it. In the Pistol you run it with 3 backs and 2 wrs. In reality you would think taking a TE off the field and replacing him with a back makes it a less powerful running game. That is not the case however. First of all from the pistol you can run the zone read to either direction, plus you can also had it off up the middle. This will spread out the defense. In addition you can run some misdirection with it. Also you can have two lead backs blocking as well. It is a much better way to run the offense. Plus if you run a back 3 times in a row you don't have to take him off the field, cause you have two other backs to hand it off to. You can also don't a lot of different things motion wise with it. So you don't need a TE in the running plays. In the passing plays most of the time TE are your check down receivers. In a pistol your back run check downs. They can run screens, wheel route, flares, ect. So you don't need them for passing plays either. You have built in max protection with it as well. Don't think that this offense is purely running. The passing game in a pistol is very potent, it is an extremely balanced. It is a high powered offense you need a lot of good players at skill position which we have. It also focuses on cutting down on turning the ball over as well. Ran correctly with the players that we have it is virtually unstoppable by any conventional college defense. It is very high speed since you don't have to run backs and WR's on and off the field so it wears down defenses extremely fast. Beck wanted to run 10-15 more plays a game, this would be the way to do it.
  5. I was told he had problems spelling his name on the application.....
  6. Benches 250 he would need a year or more in or weight lifting program to even see the field
  7. Yes a lot of people have said he is a project otherwise he might be a 4 star. I am thinking by the time he is a Junior he will start. We have some depth right now at CB so taking a guy with a little more talent but more of a project is a luxury that we have right now!!
  8. Yes I wouldn't cry to hard if we loose out on Clark but land this kid. I wonder what this kids 40 is
  9. We will if things go south with Clark
  10. If you guys want to get back at the admissions I could go done there and explain them the 4-2-5 defense. That would teach them!!
  11. I get the feeling Bo might be willing to reach a bit for a JUCO DT
  12. Only thing I see him as is an end in a 3-4. Which we may be forced to play next year.. This one has me scratching my head... Is he not as big as listed? I could see him inside in a 4-3 with that size. Did he visit? Seen him listed at 270. Well it would matter what his actual size is. Rivals 6'5 270 247 6'3 290 Hudl 6'4 260 Yeah we need to know a little more about this guy before we will be able to know what the staff is thinking. I highly doubt they are going to bring in a JUCO kid only to play in the 3-4. 5 snaps a game at DE
  13. We do not have the size at LB to run a true 3-4.
  14. Only thing I see him as is an end in a 3-4. Which we may be forced to play next year.. This one has me scratching my head... Is he not as big as listed? I could see him inside in a 4-3 with that size. Did he visit? Seen him listed at 270. Ugh 270 I thought he was 290. I am scratching my head now too
  15. He would be less of a stretch to slid inside then Cam and that's for sure. He has a similar size as Baker. What makes sense it that Bo likes to occasionally run a 3-4, and has had some success with it. I would assume he would play mostly DT for us. If he goes pro. He would be a 3-4 DE like Baker. Should have slightly better leverage then Baker. Slightly shorter slightly bigger
  16. I think if we are going to look at jucos in the future we need to get on them earlier and make sure they know we are interested and let them know wat they need to qualify. We have been pretty high on him all year. I think it is more of the JUCO's not getting on it and making their decisions earlier. Waiting to the last min to make your decisions on where to go when anyplace you go your going to have a hard time transferring in classes is not an intelligent move on the part of some of these kids.
  17. how athletic is VV? i know he's huge but i hope people dont think he's gonna come in and put up crick or suh number i think most of what he does wont show up on a stat sheet At his size he is just not going to be overly athletic. He is a pure run stopper though which is what we need.
  18. 102 total tackles, 43 TFL, 15 sacks, 5 FF, 3 FR. His total tackles are linebacker numbers. The sacks is a DE type of number. He was considered a sleeper surprise at the Missouri camp over last summer. They said out of all of the attendees at the camps he was one of the most impressive. The more I see and read about him the more I like him.
  19. What were his stats, did he just not make a lot of plays? Did he get owned in a couple of games? Cause he looks as good on film as any of our players, and I can't understand why he is rated higher!?#% He has a lot of the attributes of all the highly touted DT's. We might have found ourselves a diamond in the rough.
  20. Where is Guy and Williams on this list Guy was big, but Williams who is undersized seemed to be disruptive. I am wondering if that list could change if Williams was able to add 20 lbs.
  21. Isn't Vandenberg coming on the 11th as well?
