  1. Hutch has an agreement with all universities in Kansas as well as American University.

So UNL does not have to accept all classes Bradley has taken. He may have a course that does not transfer to a course offered at UNL. If that is the case then there is nothing that can be done nor should be done from an admissions point of view. Gotta have the correct workload to get N to UNL. Unfortunately that may not have happened here. Very well could be the reason Mizery is out in the cold too

A tenured head of a department can many times override a class not being able to transfer in. I have done that before. They can look at the class description and sign off on it.

  2. I say forget this guy. I'm sick of this crap. We all know these high profile players aren't going to SEC schools for anything other than getting to the pros. Forget it! I would take a hundred Lavonte Davids who come in and work their ***es off and go in hard week in week out during practice and the game than kids who come here expecting a starting spot on a platter than leave when they get beat out. If Ben Bradley looks at these boards here's what I can tell you...."If your heart is not at Nebraska, that's fine. Just don't come into our house, wipe your feet on the floor, smile than leave. Don't tell reporters we're the "team to beat" than turn your phone off when we come calling on two separate occasions in the same week. If we aren't what you are looking for, I hope you enjoyed your visit, man up and say you aren't coming here."

    Rant over.

a lot of recruits visit and never commit thats kind of the point of taking your visits to see where you want to go

He is just saying man up, and act like a man. Not answering the phone is the chickens way out of things.

If you have to have your daddy tell you where you can play then you're not a man. So, i dont see him manning up since im not so sure hes a man.

i see what you guys are saying just not sure why people get upset or suprised by this anymore it happens all the time, its not like a lot of these recruits grow up diehard fans like us they are gonna change their mind every ten seconds when there's a bunch of schools promising you the world

Well yes if the guy is turning off the phone cause he wants to just rest a while maybe finish up his online classes who knows that is perfectly understandable. If he is doing it cause he is trying to avoid the coaches and recruiters that is a little different. I think people are a little suspect that he is leading the coaches on, which is what happens when you change your commitment dates several times.

After hearing that he won't answer or return his phone calls from the coaches and recruiters, I have cooled on this guy. Do we really want a guy that can't be accountable to the coaches?? Maybe there is something else going on here time will tell

  4. Any time now Ben...

I agree, but the good thing about the way he is announcing is he doesn't seem to care to much about the attention. Some people make a big spectacle about it. Setting a time, some of them set up there own press conferences and video record it. This guy seems to be a little more down to earth I like that. I remember how Devin Fuller did it last year I was kind of turned off by it.

  5. Hey there Husker fans, long time no see. I used to post on here a few years back, but forgot my username so I made a new account. Haven't been around much since we've gone our seperate ways.

How are you feeling about your chances at Bradley? I've got a really good feeling for us! Wanted to hear what you thought. I think he's got a great chance to shine on our team playing against those great SEC teams week in and week out, but I'm sure he'd do well with you too. You've got some pretty good tradition with DTs recently.

    We probably won't sign him.

I like the way this guy thinks!

    troll alert!!

  6. So we basically run a 2-4 except our DE's are down? So it isn't a 2-4 at all...ok continue

You really think the DEs we are recruiting are made for this formation? Look at McMullen look at Gregory look at Natter. These are not OLB hybrid DEs. Martin played due to his motor and inability to be a solid LB and our deficiencies at the DE position this season. he is the exception not the standard.

Except for when they actually do stand up when they are pass rushing. Think before you post Hedley!!

Gregory is actually only 240 pounds and is more of a hybrid 3-4 OLB, but I agree with you that those guys aren't the standard.

He is also 6'6", I don't know about you but I see a pure DE in him not OLB hybrid as was implied by ndobney for his 2-4 scheme. Of course we have experimented with different formations etc but we are nothing close to a 2-4 as our base package. We need big fast bodies on the DL to slow down the run IMHO.

I know you aren't agreeing with the 2-4 junk though so no worries :-) happy holidays!

http://www.omaha.com/article/20121101/HUSKERS/121109951 Hedley PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU POST. Obviously Rick Kaczenski thinks he is a hybrid and so do I, and we both know a lot more about football then you. Facts buddy FACTS!!!!!!

  8. I think you might see a lot more of the end standing up in Randy Gregory which will make it into the "3-4" than last year. Primarily in passing downs. I think you would have seen Martin do it more except he said that he was more comfortable rushing from a 3 point stance. Could be wrong about this though. I might be reading into Martin's comments too much

  9. I wouldn't stand up the ends unless on passing downs. I was pointing out that the only deference in what we run and a 2-4 is that we don't stand up the ends. We do have a hard time defending the run with the peso. That is why I favor having DT's like Toby and Ben. There size and run stopping ability more then makes up for it. They can stuff anything up the middle, while still having the speed on the field to stop the runs to the outside.

  10. Yup. Quite a difference between a specialty package, designed for obvious passing downs, and a base defense.

I wasn't even calling it our base defense I was simply comparing our 4-3 base defense to the 2-4-5 defense, which is where you all missed the point!! In our defense Eric Martin is called a DE even though he is really an OLB. You all jumped on me cause you all just wanted to gang up on someone, and you should all feel ashamed of yourselves. I just wanted to talk real football with you guys, and you guys just bashed me all day. Sorry if I got defensive but you guys are all really mean. I hope you are proud of yourselves!!

I like Ben the more I research him the more I like. A lot of people were thinking that we were going with a 3-4, but what I realized is that we are basically going to a 2-4. The OLB will most of the time be in a three point stance, but all you have to do is stand them up and it is a 2 -4. It is a combination of a 3-4 and a 4-3. Cause we already run a two gap with the DT's. Instead of having a DE NT DE. We have two DT's. Honestly though. The type of DEs Bo is now recruiting are Eric Martin like. The are basically OLB's and will play that at the next level. So I think of the defense as a 2-4 with a peso like players in Evans. soon I believe Thomas Brown may be our next peso type guy. But with that type of defense. I would think you would need a NT/DT hybrids at your tackle positions. You want them big because you are giving up size for speed at the LB and DE positions. but you also want them to be agile enough for willing in the gaps not only up the middle but the guard/tackle gaps as well. A DT at 310 would be a perfect size for that. I think Ben and Toby would be perfect for Bo's scheme. Any combination with these guys and VV would be great especially due to the fact we are in the Big ten

Basically but not a real 2-4 I was simply pointing out the similarities!!

  11. Martin may be slightly undersized, but in our base defense, he is most definitely an end and not an olb. They do move him around and even stand him up in some obvious passing downs.

I will say that bo values versatility and packages, and employs stand up rushers at times, but what you describe is not viable against the run and is solely a specialty package.

See now that is a real discussion. I kind of agree and disagree cause I have thought about this. I think it could be viable against the run. But you would need the right kind of DT's to run it. The DT's should be coving the A and B gaps. The weak side DE/LB would play the 5 technique. For strong side DE I would put a little bit bigger DE like an Avery moss and run a 6 technique. On running down you could use your nickel or peso to support the run, possibly even the Safety. I think that could work against most if not all of the Big ten offenses.

  12. People are worried about DT because even though we have a lot of bodies, practically every single one of them are young and unproven. The only 2 players we have coming back with experience are Randle and Rome. A JUCO DT would be a good stop gap. That and we've swung and missed on every single DT we've tried to grab in recruiting.

We have also had a lot of injuries there as well. Peat with his back. Randle knew. etc etc I believe all the DT's the original posted mentioned has been injured except for VV

  13. Yup. Quite a difference between a specialty package, designed for obvious passing downs, and a base defense.
