  1. I agree! Your Jayhawks just completely kicked the crap out of the huskers. I can't deny it. I don't think that even the best apologists can come up with a plausable "excuse" for this one. Out played, out coached, beaten soundly by a better team.
  2. They smell blood and they are going to go after us like wolves after a lame caribou.
  3. Except they regularly start the game by giving up 3 scores... I won't buy this 'tired' crap.
  4. You'd do the same thing. Get real. One in 36 is definitely worth celebrating! Congrats to KU. Remember the ND game a few years ago? The little Fighting Irish guy with a corn cob up his butt? Yeah, we'd do nothing like this. "Sal is dead, go big red." But that shirt... THAT is crossing the line. And, yes, congrants KU. They're definitely becoming a team to worry about now.
  5. You're kind of offering some false choices. They should have given Solich and his new staff a chance. What kind of an evil jerk lets a head coach hire a new staff, gives them one year (with GREAT improvment) and then cans him at the end of that season? I REALLY disliked solich, but his second staff was getting some things done-- not perfect... but at least I felt like i was watching huskers play. Now I don't know this team... I don't just mean "option" or "power O", either. There are no nebraska/husker roots on this team, really... They could be playing anywhere. The red N doesn't automatically trigger a pavlovian response in me. I liked the huskers because the staff had roots here. Until solich started losing, I think I had one piece of husker gear that had been given to me. Once he started sinking, I found myself buying stocking hats, shirts, sweatshirts, and all kinds of things. It was the proudest I have ever been to be a husker. Then, in the final year, I was elated that they were doing well. Now, though, I don't feel any attachment to this team. I want to, but I can't. These aren't huskers. Maybe they will be someday, but now... meh. I like some of the players and I enjoy it for them. This is an occupation of the husker football team by a foreign power.
  6. "If you don't like Callahan, you will find anything and everything to possibly throw his way. Objectivity be damned." However, if you DO like BC, you'll be able to make an excuse for all of his screwups, bad decisions (throat slashing), and player-blaming. Objectivity again being damned. His press conference was destructive.
  7. "Just wait until the year after next if you're wondering what Lucky can do behind USC's OL. I think after this season, he's as good as gone! I'll give you two guesses as to where he goes, and the first one doesn't count!" Word to that. After BC's "Let's blame the players" press conference (which I'm sure he thinks is some kind of motivator... I don't remember... did he get a "dumbest team in america" blast out this time?), if I were a player with ANY marketable tallent (and there are a number of them, you friggin BC apologists) I would be out of here immediately. School spirit be damned. What in the hell happened to team spirit from the coaches? How in the HELL could I be expected to have any confidence in that B@$t@rd after he more or less said that the situation is hopless? And before anyone jumps in and says, "Find a quote where he says that it's hopeless! I don't know how to read between the lines!" let me simply say that if a coach says that the players simply don't have the ability to win games, that implies that there is nothing that can be done regardless of his amazing coaching skillz. BC should be canned for that crack and the players should strike.
  8. "- ... KU, the WORST team in all of the Big 12." Not anymore!
  9. I so glad that we finally have a coach who isn't afraid to step up to the plate and soudly blame the players. Even though his D coordinator came from a scool with a rotten defense (until he left, that is), and he and his staff have been the common denominator in his road losses, he is able to fight through that adversity and bravely point out that he has bad players. Huzzah! BC! Huzzah!
  10. Yeah, I've never seen so many head tackles and facemasks in one game. It almost looks like they practice that move and intend to take players out of the game in dirty, filthy ways. That was GREAT, though, when Ross dropped #36. I don't know if you could see it on TV, but the guy kept shoving and pushing him after the play was over, under his shoulder pads, pushing them up in his face, then ross just turned and popped him on the bottom of his face mask, a nice quick upper, and dropped the guy flat on his arse. Made me so happy. TT is a damb dirty team. Oh, and I do blame smith (?) for running the ball back... either him or the coach-- d tackles should never try to run with the ball... it's not what they do and they should be taugh just that... fall on it, get down. You're NOT going to run it back... meh... best and worst game I've ever seen.
  11. And Frost would issue a severe beatdown to Crouch... There. Now I've finished this thread's regression to 'my qb could beat up your qb' :-)
  12. Heh. the point wasn't that Buckhalter was/is an equal to green, it was that 7+ yards per carry isn't exactly a "lack of talent".
  13. What?? I can't STAND Jim Rose... Give me Pavelka any day. I love it when ESPN or any other national sports station plays local radio broadcasts and the announcer actually sounds like a fan of the team he's announcing for. Rose seems like he hardly cares more of the time. Sure, if he worked for ABC and was calling for a national audience, I woudln't want someone who is clearly biased... it sure would be great to have another excited, yelling, husker-loving, critical caller on the air. Still, rose is better than that last tool they hired.
  14. Did everyone forget that crouch had Buckhalter? Apparently solich did. CARRIES YDS YDS/CARRY 1 Correll Buckhalter, Nebraska 106 750 7.08
