So you are saying you don’t like a differing of opinions.  That’s fine.  I’m old enough to remember when that was a bad thing.

I don’t have Spotify not listen to Rogan outside a few clips that get shown on other platforms.  I have no dog in the fight.  Funny how others that don’t listen to him either get so upset by him though.

Don't bother listening to Rogan on Spotify.  I watched the McCullough and Malone interviews.  It was just hours of information I never heard before backed by scientific studies- boring.  If it's not something I could get from a few minutes reading headlines on CNN it can't be worthwhile.  And Rogan, don't get me started on him.  Always asking questions when he didn't understand something or thought what he heard didn't sound right.  Sure it made things easy to understand and interesting but it makes you start thinking.  Rogan is a Bernie bro so his intellect is probably above mine.  But he is a cheeky fella.  I don't know if you saw his apology video where he pointed out that suggesting masks are ineffective was considered misinformation but is now well known.  How dare he make me think my masky might have been nothing more than a security blanket.  Rogan is obviously dangerous.

Disruption seems like doing away with it…or rearranging maybe. And why Western? Is that referring to Western culture? Seems like “us vs. them”. Western culture is bad.

That does sound like they are implying dads are bad.  I wonder if it has something to do with BLM founders being lesbian marxists.  I'm surprised that is one of their goals considering many studies have shown fatherless homes are highly correlated to children turning into criminals.  It's almost like they are trying to hurt blacks.  Huh.

  3. We seemed to have progressed from the " a loss is a loss no matter if it's 1 point or 60 points (who cares that we were embarrassed on primetime TV)" Pelini mentality.  We still have the  loveable loser mentality Riley instilled.  I'll sample Husker football again next year to see if things have improved.

There is nothing nice about a MAGA rally.

People have a great time at them.  Nigerians appear to be having a good time.  I was going to go to one this weekend but since 25% of the attendees are Democrats I figured it's more important for them to attend and see for themselves what the MSM tells them is bunk.  Biden's drive-in protests are quite different with Biden angrily yelling at cars and the dark winter hanging about.  Biden is just too divisive calling Republicans chumps.

We're also going to get a lot of China in the next few months for obvious reasons.

Let's just make it clear up-front that no political party trusts China or refuses to challenge China. But both parties got us hugely indebted to China and our most avid Capitalists have been thrilled to work with the CCP when money is involved. And money is always involved.

Biden is all over the China issue.  He's picking up Chinese phrases and quoting Mao Zedong.

I know for a fact it's much worse than the flu for even people middle aged.  I personally know people who have had it and very well might have very long term affects from it.  This line of thinking is just simply total BS and the only reason you're going down this path is to try to make Donny look better.

Sorry to hear that.  I also know someone that's been on a ventilator for a long time.  She'll have long term effects too.  The biggest question currently is whether it's safe to open schools.

But...but...but....I'm told by Trump and his supporters that Covid is no worse than the flu.

Maybe it isn't.  I've heard that 30 people under the age of 18 have died and most of them had other health issues.  If you listen to the media opening schools is a death sentence.  CCP virus seems to be most lethal for 60+.  We have vaccines for flu and apparently the actual flu deaths aren't counted by actual cases, they are estimated from a model.  Only through extensive testing will a close to true CFR be determined.  There are a lot of asymptomatic cases that go untested so those will need to be estimated.

To be clear, I fully believe the CDC has been hamstrung in their efforts, namely by the president and other top government officials. We could and should have done a much better job. But, not all viruses are created equal.

Agree with the bolded.  How do you think the CDC was hamstrung?

  10. 2 minutes ago, knapplc said:

So, under Obama, who allowed the CDC to do what they were supposed to do, there were 12,469 deaths associated with H1N1 in 12 months.

How many deaths have there been from C19 in six months under Trump?

    Do you know?

You want me to tell you?

    Here's a hint - it's more than 12,000. It's more than ten times 12,000.

How long do you want to keep pretending?  Because I can do this all day.

Knapplc come on, you've got to be smart enough to know different viruses behave differently.  I could point out that 25% of the deaths occurred in ny where they were knowingly sending infected old people back to nursing homes while hospital beds Trump set up in Javits Center and hospital ship went unused.  I could be disingenuous and say Cuomo is a murderer but that doesn't help the situation.

H1N1 was contained and over with before it started (thanks, Obama!). But under Trump, C19 is raging unchecked.

Same CDC.  Different leaders.  Seeing a connection there?  Anyone?  Hello?

    Quote

From April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010, CDC estimated there were 60.8 million cases (range: 43.3-89.3 million), 274,304 hospitalizations (range: 195,086-402,719), and 12,469 deaths (range: 8868-18,306) in the United States due to the (H1N1)pdm09 virus.

    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/2009-h1n1-pandemic.html

    60 million doesn't scream containment.

    Quote

On August 10, 2010, WHO declared an end to the global 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic. However, (H1N1)pdm09 virus continues to circulate as a seasonal flu virus, and cause illness, hospitalization, and deaths worldwide every year.

Pandemics do what pandemics do.  They shouldn't be politicized.

No they weren't. They were doing fine. It's just that Trump doesn't like the numbers because they look bad for him (spoilers: they are bad for him, and it's his fault).

But even pretending the CDC was doing a bad job, who in the White House is going to be better at disseminating that data, and how are they more qualified than the CDC?

It's funny how nobody complained about the CDC before Trump. Now the nutters think the CDC is a problem and Trump's people are the solution. Why? Because Trump told them so.  :LOLtartar

Are you forgetting the test kits?  It was deja vu for me because I remember it took an uncomfortably long time for a previous outbreak, H1N1 or something.  I remember thinking if they just got the testing going they could probably contain it but it seemed to drag on before they started testing.  This year they apparently didnt follow their own manufacturing procedures and contaminated part of the kits.  I don't think it mattered much because China sent 100,000's people out into the world so the chance of containment was nil.

But he also uses his platform and ideological beliefs to mold Donald Trump into something he's not. Never was. Never will be. Hey, Trump supporters, how do you explain this?  @Notre Dame Joe @4skers89

I like how CNBC states the Trump administration "quietly" shifted collection to HHS.  Conspiracy much CNBC?  This move was well known.  CDC was badly botching data collection so maybe they decided to take down the old data figuring no data was better than incorrect data or spite.  Hopefully HHS can sort this out.  There are reports that people tested twice are being counted as two cases and no reporting of negative cases.  I believe CDC should be catching these things but weren't.  Redfield needs to whip the CDC into shape soon because they seem to have bungled this pandemic from the start.

I think it's good Trump is getting back into his 2016 stride, when the message was get the polls up or step aside.  The previous guy Pascale seemed to know a lot about computer data but was not ready for such a great task.

Pascale slid over to take over the digital media.  I hope the polls don't shift too much.  A 2016 redux would cause heads to explode.

Epoch TImes is the best source of news out of China.  They have a lot of contacts in China and are the go to media organization when someone wants to leak a document.  Most importantly ET has no financial ties to the CCP which is not true with most US media.  I see no inaccuracies in their US reporting.  They are committed to bringing back journalism which is a nice contrast to the media activists that openly admit orange man is so bad that it's imperative to slam him at every opportunity.  Methinks thou doth protest too much, where are you from?

I believe there was a credible report back in 2017 that there was an office in the Kremlin where Putin employed a couple dozen Russian millennials whose full time job was to disrupt American social media by generating millions of politically divisive memes. In a sick way, that would have been a fun job.

    Fun fact: they haven't stopped.

Small potatoes compared to China's 50 cent army.  I mess with them by telling them that I got their Shen yun tickets when they visit the US and be careful because if their boss found out they'll get their organs harvested.

Allow me to "red pill" you as you've said.

Trump looks at things from the perspective of a sh#tty businessman who got his fortune from daddy and failed upward all the way to the White House. He had to have daddy cover his casino losses and still managed to bankrupt them. He generated the vast amount of his wealth licensing his family name to whoever would pay him for it, refusing to pay bills, stiffing working joes and convincing a bunch of rubes that his reality TV persona was legitimately who he was.

Of all his policies, his foreign policy is particularly impotent and ineffective. Pompeo is not taken seriously on a world stage because, well, he's SOS for Trump, who most of the world views as a laughingstock and a childish nuisance. There's absolutely no way Trump has gained us any respect during his term. Our closest allies clearly don't respect him, as they have recently been busy blowing off G7 summits and trade agreement ceremonies, probably because he was doing dumb s#!t like inviting Putin here for a pow-wow when he was putting bounties on our troops' heads. We're banned from going to lots of other countries right now because he's f#&%ed up the COVID situation so badly.  See these embarrassing figures:

    PG_2020.01.08_US-Image_0-02.png?resize=6

    PG_2020.01.08_US-Image_1-01.png?resize=3\\

    PG_2020.01.08_US-Image_1-02.png?resize=6

We weren't a doormat before; Obama merely welcomed the use of diplomacy and soft power rather than eschewing it and thinking projecting a faux tough guy image at all times was a legitimate foreign policy. Trump, in spite of himself, does at times understand how to diagnose a problem correctly and can have decent instincts in identifying some populist positions, but he has no idea how to get from point A to point B to solve problems. Just none whatsoever. It's all empty rhetoric and bluster.

For all his empty words and 2+ years of a trade war with China, what concrete results has he gotten? He's crippled our farmers access to their markets and kept them on the government teat. American manufacturing has been going through a recession and is only now starting to improve, likely owing to secondary effects following our COVID lockdowns. Both are direct effects of his trade war.

At some point it's just lunacy to not admit Trump just isn't very good at his current job and certainly not delivering on his promises.

I was watching DW news the other day and they were talking about polls.  The media activist, formerly known as a reporter, said Trump's racist platform doesn't seem to be working.    Trump bashing is a world wide sport.

VDH explains it best how we got to this point, what the deep state is, how this whole thing is coming undone.  As he said the onion is being peeled.  Tonight Lindsay Graham said there are some real criminal things that occurred so hopefully these bad deep state actors can be held accountable.  VDH also explains what progressives are and how they are using identity politics, definitely worth watching.  If you like the constitution you probably shouldn't be a progressive.

Seriously? Stone was negotiating with Russia as an unauthorized citizen. Any of us could be under investigation for that and subsequently lie to the feds about it? I think not.

It was Flynn that was being investigated for that.  Recently released notes from one of these FBI weasels show it was Biden that came up with going after Flynn on the Logan Act.   Even after Flynn was interviewed the FBI thought Flynn did nothing wrong.  Stone was convicted on answers to some innocuous gotcha questions when he testified.
