  1. Lol, fair. In my defense, I did immediately add a post on what my positives for the year were. I think its ok to acknowledge that there were some really good things that we can build on but also some really bad things that need to be fixed asap. Perhaps our november collapse will be a good thing in the long run; while the upperclassmen have grown to be accustomed to the season ending in november, i hope the younger players use this feeling as motivation to not repeat this experience. Every goal this team had in front of them was attainable, and largely due to our own doing, we didnt meet said goals. If we clean up a few unforced mistakes and become more efficient, this 5-7 record quickly turns into a 8-4/9-3...
  2. To be fair, I don’t think there’s many teams we played this year that would voluntarily switch “talent” with us and prefer to have our roster on gameday. Offensively, this was one of the least talented, if not the least, I’ve witnessed for Nebraska in my life. 09 Zac lee would’ve looked like a savior compared to this year
  3. Imagine if we can land a semi competent QB.... There were quite a few instances Lloyd and malachi couldve had even more but were never seen. You look back at a lot of the tape and you'll see wide open routes frequently missed.
  4. The scary part is there’s a solid chance we would’ve fared even worse had we remained in the big12
  5. They said I got point for being too negative… lol, I even had an additional post giving my thoughts on positives
  6. Wow, somehow my post above warranted a point from the mods of this board. Lol, what kind of place is this now zero personal attack, simply stating facts. And I get issued a warning point
  7. To answer the question- 1. d Line, sounds like everyone is back next year. Could be a force if cam and Princewill progress 2. our secondary should be solid again 3. we have some young guys at wideout and EJ that got great experience. Hopefully it springboards next year with added talent 4. the season is over and hopefully I’ll never have to witness another husker squad this inept at the qb position in my life. Most critical position on the field and it was an abject failure
  8. lol, what? The team didn’t implode? man- we were sitting at 5-3 and here’s how we showed up: - come out flat and lifeless with no urgency against one of the worst teams in the big10 in MSU with a disaster of a coaching situation and lose - 5 turnovers from our QBs against a Maryland squad that was literally imploding after a 5-0 start and we lose, at home, largely due to zero offense and a late turnover - we go up 14-0 against wiscy. We want to be a smash mouth team who wins with defense and clock control. We couldn’t run for s#!t- basically get shut out the remaining 51 mins of the game and lose to the weakest wiscy team in 20 years- a team who has an identity crisis, up until playing us -we lose to Iowa. Which in and of itself is fine. But for it to happen when we finally get a critical INT with 30 seconds left… and we somehow still find a way in those 30 seconds to not only give the ball right back but to then get gashed on a simple run up the middle and lose on a FG I honestly can’t think of a better word than implosion.
  9. Surgery or no surgery we are 100% bringing another QB in. Purdy doesn’t deserve to be crowned starter. He’s now thrown 2 ghastly pics in late game scenarios that cost his team W’s. Sure, he might be the best option out of the qb room as it stands today but that’s more of a byproduct of how crappy his peers are If we somehow get a bowl invite, which we won’t, you take it for the betterment of the team. Zero consideration should be paid as to how it’ll impact your 2nd string qb next year
  10. It’s not the football gods. It’s just a game of pick your poison between 3 quarterbacks that are in over their heads in the big ten.
  11. It’s pretty embarrassing. i hate using the word cursed because it insinuates this isn’t our fault. At the end of the day, it’s a systemic issue- we don’t have any difference makers on any side of the ball. Just below average to unready players forced in big time situations- typically when players r outmatched they rush and press and you get things like horrendous penalties and ridiculous turnovers. aka Nebraska football for 10 years now
  12. Cheers to you for being able to hold out that long for a cold beer. I had to reach for one when we fumbled the punt return lol
  13. I think you’re being a bit dramatic. Your description of the players body language sounds like 2017 Mike Riley team- were not that disappointing end to the season for sure. We’ll look back and question y we came out so flat against msu and wondering if chubba in Maryland earlier might have changed things we saw little drop off on the o line with younger guys playing. Hopefully they progress next year- coupled with a healthy RB room and a half way competent qb and we’re a 7-5;8-4 squad easily. Can’t underscore enough how a simply upgrade at qb would change so many things for this team
  14. Don’t disagree. Rhule didn’t seem to pleased about it himself when it occurred
  15. Pretty hard to manage a game with confidence when the QB room has a collective IQ of 22
  16. Bingo- this progrum isn’t doing anything soon until the leaders and captains actually show up on the field when it matters.
  17. Our starting QB next year isn’t on the roster our o line doesn’t move anything and still finds ways to get penalties in bad situations posters last week complaining about clock management from Rhule… just stop it- chubba’s pick is a prime example of the lose lose decision these coaches have every week. Greatest coaching in the world isn’t gonna stop stupidity from showing itself
  18. well, the starting qb next year isn’t on the roster. Injuries and all, I can’t recall a team letdown by an entire QB room like this
  19. U crazy man, 2016 Nebraska Huskers sitting at 9-2 far worse
  20. I think a bowl game would be an immense boost to this progrum. Massive boost to fan morale and optimism to finally have a game to look forward to again around the holidays Great boost to the young guys who get an added 3 weeks of reps/practice A bowl game would mean beating a #20 ranked Iowa for the 2nd year in a row. Ending our winless streak against ranked teams would be a massive springboard heading into next year Quite the hot take by me, i know, lol. But making a bowl vs finishing 5-7 is such a massive swing in perception of this year and momentum heading into next
  21. 1000% need to win this game. There are def clear signs of progress but I don't know how you refute the MSU/Maryland disasters that put us in this position. I've seen clear progress in the intensity and fundamental play of this team. It's also come against a schedule that is the easiest we've seen in some time and probably won't see a schedule this favorable in a very long time, if ever.
  22. Great post. I haven't had a chance to listen to Rhule's presser today, hopefully will during a walk later. Regardless of how Friday plays out, its refreshing to finally have an adult at the helm of the progrum who can both be a positive ambassador while also connecting with today's youth. We haven't had this combo since Solich.
  23. I was being sarcastic. Given he's the most tenured position coach working with arguably the most tenured players on the team in terms of college playing experience and games played at nebraska- im not thrilled at all about what I've seen this year. Spell out how my argument doesnt work? As pitiful as our offense is, it looks even worse when you take out the outliners, aka the massive qb runs we've had on broken plays by all 3 of our qbs. I get our RB room is injured- but we havent moved the line against any one with a pulse and its gotten worse as the season has progressed. Sure, the line play has cleaned up a bit- but by no means has our o line imposed its will on any big10 team with a pulse defensively. Our lack of passing attack makes it tougher, for sure, but I've seen us get stuffed 1 too many times on 3rd and 4th and short. And as I said in a previous post, we dont move anything in the redzone.
  24. So true on the lack of complimentary football. Let's also not forget that we had so many games under frost where we're down by more than 1 possession in the 4th and we put some late scores up. Yardage was never an issue for frost- penalities, 3 and outs, and a miserable redzone % was that offenses' downfall.
