A sad fact that I’ve been noticing lately: Most people don’t really have a passion that they pursue. They aren’t dedicated to anything. Especially younger people.

I don't think this is new at all. I think "most" people have always gone to work, came home and dealt with family stuff, went to bed, woke up the next day and did it again. Rinse, lather, repeat. Outside of a few hobbies, I would guess this is the way it works for a huge chunk of the world.
People are very lucky if they can afford the time and/or cash needed to pursue other passions outside of their employment. That's why I think it is pretty damn important to find a place to work that you love, or at least won't drive you nuts!
