I agree and the 14 point favorite makes me nervous to bet on NU. CUs defense isn’t a world beater and NIU is salty. IMO Frost doesn’t have the tools this year to make his O go. Can he adapt to what he has? Get to a bowl should be the goal this year, but I don’t see it. Hard to flip a losing culture.

The trends are the same and it’s why I have no faith in NU. The graduation losses made this team weaker.

I took Colorado (+4.) hopefully NU looks like the ‘95 team and destroys the Puffs. What concerns me? The kicking game. Pickering or the guy who shanked it? Can they snap the ball correctly? Can they get a push? The whole shotgun on the goaline(sigh). Can the Blackshirts get pressure with 4? Too many “if all goes well” NU wins.

This team has issues on both sides of the lines. Linebackers and safeties are questionable. They are not athletic as a team and will show in conference play. The record will bear that out. It will take a few years to clean up the mess Frost inherited. Remember this was a cupcake and they pushed NU.

What I “learned”: People leaving the stadium looked like NU lost. It was silent. Like a funeral. NU is not athletic. Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! As quirky as it was, I enjoyed seeing him do it. Maybe it was just good to win. The person who would have benefitted the most with Frost was Parella. He’s a good coach that was surrounded by complete ineptitude.

I would have ran it until the other team stopped it. I believe NU wanted to be “multiple” and seemingly went to something that didn’t work.

8-4. I’m not sold on the DC or the talent. I want to see a pass rush and less converted 3rd and forevers. Better tackling and attitude from this D. Show it in the games.
