  1. yeah i don't think you can really count a school in tennessee as anything resembling a cold weather team, which you did at least 3 times.
  2. By THAT Michael Johnson do you mean the WR coach at Oregon? His dad isn't the sprinter according to everything I've seen, although I was really hoping he was.
  3. manuel allen's ranking fell off a cliff in some places after he decommitted from usc as well. it doesn't fit the narrative as to where all the good players go. obviously good players wouldn't want to play at nebraska, so clearly their rankings for them were far too high. if bookie was really as good as they had him ranked originally he obviously would have picked alabama, usc, ohio state, etc.
  4. anybody else watching the SEC network and laughing? i think this has the beginnings of an excellent drinking game. i might have to record finebaum so i can play when i finish making up the rules. drink every time you laugh, every time they make an excuse, etc.
  5. gordon and the wisconsin offensive line are pretty good. we need to make some major adjustments on defense before the minny game, although we did create some turnovers. we really need to learn how to tackle better. we still can't throw. it wouldn't have mattered, but beck still likes to go away from the run on early downs while we're ahead for no apparent reason. at least we stopped clapping. our best player today might have been our punter.
  6. i would like to think he means that it is karma for ole miss and their questionable recruiting tactics, which some of the more widely known specifically involve treadwell. either way, classless or at the very least thoughtless comment on his part. i hate seeing anyone seriously hurt, and would like to think everyone else does as well.
  7. and cheer as the winners go by
  8. i know aTm and ucla aren't very far removed from bad seasons, which we haven't had since clownahan left. not sure how far back this is doing averages for, but that could have something to do with it.
  9. i heard some of the talking heads on espnu today give gurley the leg up because of his pass catching ability... he has 9 catches for 29 yards this year.
  10. definitely a big game, probably the biggest regular season game in years. voting for anything other than bacon though... don't be silly.
  11. we wouldn't make it in with a loss, but a 1 loss MSU would have a chance based on the preseason presumptions about the teams. a #2 sec would beat us out even if fsu or oregon falls off. i would like to think the committee wouldn't look at it this way, but i can't bring myself to do it. if we want to make the playoffs this year, it's going to require 13-0. with that being said, it's way too early to look at 13-0. let's worry about 6-0 first, and go from there.
  12. THC (marijuana) stays in your system longer because your body doesn't consider it to be a bad thing. alcohol and the other illegal drugs are out of your system in a few days because your body views it as poison, and as such tries to purge it as quickly as possible. it tries to hold on to THC, which should tell you all that you need to know about how bad they are for you. if we're going on a strictly "how bad is it for you" scale, alcohol is much worse. the only real danger from marijuana is damage to your lungs, and there are ways to ingest THC that no longer require you to smoke it. you shouldn't smoke it and drive around, but you shouldn't after drinking either, which we all know is a common enough occurrence.
  13. Because when I see a partially filled stadium,my first thought is, "damn, that's a rowdy fanbase!" as much as i love the sellout streak, i would rather see memorial stadium with 70k people like me in it a lot more than 92k of the people who are there now telling me to sit down. if i can drive 16 hours to see the huskers play, while usually having to ridiculously overpay to buy tickets secondhand (see the cost on your ticket? i've had to pay up to 1000% of that, and i consider it worth every penny), then you can damn well stand up for 3 hours and make some noise. If that is what you're paying for a ticket, then the joke is on you. You can buy entire season tickets for $392 or you can get them outside the stadium for like $25 per game. Don't act like you're a super fan because you decide to pay $90,000 for a Honda Civic when every other dealer is selling the same car for $15,000. never been able to get season tickets, although i would love to, and i'm not traveling 1k miles without already having a ticket in hand and hoping for the best with scalpers. i doubt you would either. that basically left stubhub (or similar) as my options. it also doesn't help that i only make the trip for big games. ohio st, wisky, ucla, etc. that drives the price up considerably. never claimed to be a super fan, just using an analogy to say that it isn't too much of a burden to stand up and make noise as opposed to telling the people that do to sit down. apologies if it came across as smug. yet another reason not to drink and type.
