Funny what happens when a lower tier SEC school comes knocking. Imagine what would happen to him if Bama or LSU offer.

I also would like to point out that because this player is not a signed commit, we are only getting his side because the coaches are not allowed to talk about recruits. We do not know the other side of the conversation. So before we jump the gun, let's just have fatih that the coaches know what they are doing.

I would think it has to help us as it probably rules out UF as a destination tor him. Im surprised they are taking 4 let alone 5 unless one or two of them are moving to D. It's possible some move to D. I just saw that they had 5 on their list on Scout. I didn't dig too deep. As i mentioned on other threads, UCLA has something like 8 OL commits so who knows what coaches and recruits are thinking.

For Martinez, I think you need to look at how many games he cost us the last 3 years. Some of the losses fall squarely on the defense not stopping anyone and asking him to do things out of the norm of the offense to keep us in it. Then look at the games we have won because of him being able to keep us in it. I think this category far outshines the other. I believe he is top 5 regardless of hardware.

I am a big fan of Martinez, but he cannot surpass Crouch without some hardware. A conference championship at least... Kind of hard to put allof that on him when the Defense gives up 70, don't you think?

I don't think he has any BETTER chance of playing time here than LSU. Les Miles will put the best players he has on the field regardless of class. If Priest comes in that good, he will see a lot of time no matter which school he attends.

I would agree that they may be a team on the rise but he hasn't proven he can win any games against top tier opponents. Until he does that with Vandy, he is still in charge of a bottom SEC school

Figures we'd be up against 3 $EC schools. The bottom SEC schools. I wouldn't put Vandy in the bottom any more. I would. In the teams they beat, the record was 36-71. Of their wins, only Ole Miss at 6-6 and NC State at 7-5 had non losing records. I understand James Franklin is some hot commodity but he hasn't won anything yet.
