When we moved to a small town in central Nebraska from a more populated area, our friends asked...."But, what are you going to do in a small town?" Well......our lives actually got busier. For the record, just in our own small town, we have HS sports, a pumpkin patch, Movie theater for "shows", lakes for great fishing and water sports, hunting, hockey games 45 minutes away (probably less drive time than many in Chicago for sporting events) three bars, Hospital Benefit Ball this Saturday....bla bla bla bla....... On any given Saturday, I could EASILY find something else to do for fun. And....like someone said.....in LA, there are more people to go to all those things. So.....the excuse is idiotic and tiresome.

Oh.....so.....now the Republicans are OK with changing the constitution with an executive order. Hmmmmm......wonder how they would like that with the 2nd amendment.

I think Zac Taylor is awesome and obviously a respected coach. However.....from QB coach to Head Coach???? This seems like a move that would be set up for failure.

Of course this isn’t spelled out immediately. We we must make it seem like the President is sending tanks and carpet bombs to the border to save America so he gets more votes next week.

This will be interesting to see progress.

Hey...I enjoy comparing recruiting classes and think it's useful as a part of the equation. Another thing that will help the program out as far as recruiting goes. I think Frost is instilling a culture where players won't be able to come in as a highly recruited player and stuff off for 3-4 years and never contribute. Hopefully, the program and players will hold them accountable from day one. Either do what it takes to help the team....or you're more than welcome to move on. No more players like Barnett come in and eat the training table empty and never contribute.

It's a baseball thing...mostly. There are some players who start the season clean cut and don't shave till their season is over. Baseball players are well known for being very superstitious.

There's a big difference between what's happening now in Lincoln and other classes on that list. I think we could match or top the number of 4* players in the '11 class. HOWEVER.....I hope, pray and expect this staff to get more out of them than previous staffs. We've talked about it a lot on this board. Way too often the higher rated players in those classes, didn't amount you much or didn't make it to campus at all.

Actually, this is one of the few weekends I wouldn't be too sad to see an 11:00 game. Get up early, go deer hunting till about 10:00. Head back home, watch the game, eat lunch.....head back out for an evening hunt.

I'm really liking what I see us having when the early signing day comes in December. There's a chance we sign as many as 24-25 players with maybe 8+ being 4 star players. We are at 19 players with 6 4 stars right now. Add Wandale Robinson and Bell for two more. We could get another few commits before then. That lines up nicely for the staff to be able to focus the last couple months of recruiting on a few key players.

Class balance isn't a complete non-issue. But, I don't think it's a crisis if you have a really big lass and at some point then you have a small class. The problem is if that really big class doesn't perform. It's also more of an issue when you start nailing it down to specific position groups. You want a decent balance within your linemen or your RBs or QBs...etc. But, even that can be remedied in the future if one class is heavy in one group. Looking at this year, let's say we are going to take 30 players. I honestly, wouldn't mind seeing that made up of something like 25 HS recruits and 5 good JUCO players that can contribute right away.
