  1. That stinks when this weekend will be the best atmosphere. Of course....if the unthinkable happens and we get blown out (No, I don't think that will happen) we will be glad they are coming for a different game.
  2. lol His speeches where he says we are going to "take the oil" or when he says he has a plan for ISIS "but I am not going to tell" You can continue to discount the changes he has made in his campaign the past 6 weeks, but the reality is that he has been focusing on offering policy solutions while Hillary has been AWOL (well before her collapse) and solely focused on making this a race about racism. Here's the deal Bril. I don't give a flying rip if he becomes a perfect little angel over the next 50+ days. We know what the idiot is like because we have seen him the last 12-18 months. Pardon me if I don't accept it when people can become sweet and nice for a short period of time to pump the public with BS. It's no different than if Clinton all of a sudden didn't tell another lie during that time. Are you all of a sudden going to ignore everything she has said the last 12-18 months? NOT.......
  3. It sure feels like a monumental game to me. Maybe the national guys don't feel that way. But, I'm not concerned about that. Win this game and they start taking notice. This would even feel like a bigger game if I didn't have a friggen family wedding starting at 2:30 on Saturday. PS.....the Oregonian guy sure doesn't like their team. Wow....
  4. Maybe I'm misreading posts. But, I'm not seeing people complaining about Oregon not being good enough to be on our schedule. If so....that's pretty presumptuous when we haven't won against a ranked OOC opponent since 2001. Let's beat one before we start saying they aren't good enough for our schedule.
  5. Bryant will have his time in the bright lights. I'm enjoying the work of Newby and Ozigbo. I think both are really good backs that Nebraska can be successful with.
  6. lol His speeches where he says we are going to "take the oil" or when he says he has a plan for ISIS "but I am not going to tell" Well, he went through the primaries saying almost nothing other than "I'm going to build a wall" and "I'm awesome....Everybody loves me". I guess now we know he has a plan somewhere in his head...oh....wait.....he's going to demand his generals put together a plan in the first 30 days. Wait.......doesn't he know more than the generals?
  7. Ahhh....got it. Thanks..... PS....Will you please give me $10,000 so I can donate it to the local Hospital? I need to do something to look good.
  8. Yes, that is how the Red Cross and similar organizations work. That is not how standard "rich people" charities work. Most of the time those "rich people" actually donate to their charities. What article are you pulling this from? Pardon me if I'm missing the link in your post.
  9. I don't remember any other candidate for President EVER joking about violence against protesters or promoting it.
  10. THIS is my opinion on environmentalism. We have major problems around the world that need to be solved with the environment. Solving those would probably also solve global warming if we are the cause. Arguing about these things is a meaningless exercise.
  11. Of course they have. But, I question deeply their ability to measure down to the exact degree that long ago.I wouldn't. Science understood far more back then than what most people realize. All they had to do was establish the freezing and boiling point of a solution and create and calibrate the scale how they saw fit. Fahrenheit invinted his own degree, it's not something that existed. It's also easily reproducible since thermal expantion for a given solution/element will always follow the same curve. Hey...I completely understand that if a scientist in Omaha in 1884 wanted to know the exact degree it is outside they could. I have a hard time believing they knew the exact degree of the entire earth back then, or the temperatures of the oceans at various depths. It's no different than me sitting here on September 14th with cold weather in Nebraska and claiming global warming must be turning into global cooling. I can't say that because I don't have the precise data from around the world.
  12. Ummmmmmm.....a 69 year old woman with a oxygen tank. Shall we bring up the guy inside the rally who got choked and assaulted and trump made a joke about it? Scum bag.
  13. Of course they have. But, I question deeply their ability to measure down to the exact degree that long ago.
  14. Here's a frustration I have with this entire discussion. Scientists act like they know precisely down to the exact degree what the temperature was long before modern technology existed. So....is this graph claiming it know precisely what the temperature was (to the exact degree) in April of 1882???
  15. Its a wide swatch of folks from young to old, and frankly, it doesn't really matter as it was a dumb thing to say. With that said, it was not "name-calling" and was backed by actual data. I'm still waiting for someone to show me data that 25 to 30 million Trump voters are racists, sexists, etc.. I really don't give a flying rats butt about numbers. I have no clue what the numbers are. If you want to fixate on the word "half"....go ahead. Hey...I'll even say the word "half" is wrong. OK????? But, if you actually believe his campaign isn't built on fear mongering, hate, promotion of violence against people they don't like....well......you either choose to ignore the reality or are totally buffaloed by this guy. While I agree Trump spent too much of his primary campaign tearing others down, and then had the Khan controversy post convention, if you look at most of the general election (which I call the period after both conventions and until election day), he has been the one giving major policy speeches on many topics, including terrorism, inner city plight, economic struggles, immigration, and today rolled out a child welfare program to help out young families. Hillary and her team are not out offering new ideas...instead, they are trying to demonize Trump and his supporters time and again. A day or two before the deplorables comment, Bill Clinton was out making a claim that "Make America Great Again" was racist, despite the fact he used those same words many times when running in 1992, and repeated them in 2008 when Hillary was running. Since Trump hired Kellyanne Conway, his campaign has been focused and on message, and is offering a much greater balance of positive policy offerings along with the criticisms of Hillary. All we hear from Team Hillary are attacks on Trump. Both of us don't like Hillary. Discussion of her being less than desirable as a candidate is just talking for the sake of talking. Now...back to Trump. So...you admit he built his following based on hatred of other groups and promotion of violence towards people who disagree with him....thanks.
  16. LINK And....we agree that the 47% statement was quite possibly the dumbest thing he could have ever said. Problem is, still many Republicans repeat it and get all worked up about it.

  18. So, basically we have two people that are full of sh#t. With my vast experience in the matter, when you are full of sh#t.....that can be a bad problem.
  19. No it doesn't. Not necessarily, at least. 40% of our country identifies as independent, 31% democrat, and 29% republican. Doesn't really say much towards whether 50+% of our country is conservative. I'm not saying Independent, Democrat or Republican. I'm saying Liberal or Conservative. There is a difference.
  20. Here is why I think Clinton/Trump is having at least some affect on it. He's at 60%. That means there has to be some conservatives who are giving him a positive approval rating. I think the fact that so many are frustrated and upset that Trump is the Candidate, they are willing to view Obama in less of a negative light. I very well might be wrong. However, I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express once.
  21. Well....I wouldn't go as far as that article takes it. Obama ushered in a program (ACA) that is falling apart and is going to cost one hell of a lot of money before its said and done and he spent his first term basically blaming Bush for everything. Yes, he has gotten through without scandal and he's acted Presidential. Whoopteedoo. That's the bottom floor any President should aspire to. I've been interested in these approval numbers and I honestly think it's because of the two pathetic candidates we have coming up behind him. America looks at these two and says...."Damn.....as bad as he is.....he's better than them." He probably will go down better in history than whoever is there in the next 4-8 years.
  22. I just wanna point something out. Wyoming game wasnt pass heavy. i think this is a bit misconceived cuz the run game was very incosistent and mostly unsuccessful and the pass game was extremely successful and mostly explosive. We ran the ball 43 times and passed 35. Thats 55/45 Maybe I'm in the minority. But, when someone says "pass heavy", I take that as either meaning, we passed the ball a majority of the time or we had the majority of our success passing the ball. It's not necessarily one or the other.
  23. We have a much better chance of being able to run well against Oregon now that we had a very good passing day last week. That forced Oregon to have to plan and account for the passing game. Now, we will see how well both do. I'm thinking Langs will find something that works and make adjustments to that throughout the game.
  24. That's a trend I'd like to see continue. Yes...I'd like to see a lot of points early. But....If we can go against the better competition and wear them down so we rack up a lot of points in the 4th....it'll be a good sign. I remember a time when the scoring was just the opposite and that was bad.
