  1. I wore a tie, every single day for the first 30 days of the school year.  Then I stopped, no one really said a thing when I wore one.

Today, I wore one and my god, the students are in shock, like they have never seen a tie before.

    Unreal.

For this to be interesting, you would have had to actually show up to work the first 30 days of the school year.

  2. Guise….Today is the first day since April that I’ve worn pants.

      I'm jealous.

That is one thing I'm really looking forward to when I retire.  Not having to wear pants.

  3. .Between Bear Bryant and Nick Saban Alabama hired and fired 8 coaches. Their tenure was 3,2,6,3,2,0,3 and 1 year. It was pretty much a revolving door till Nicky came along.

  4. Forum question... when you quote to  two different people do you do it in the same post or post the first quote and reply then post the second quote and reply? (I posted the first and while I was responding a person posted and I posted a second..) Is that double posting and bad etiquette?

@GSG  I'm not sure what you're talking about with the multiquote function.  I do it quite often.  I go to a long post I want to make multiple comments about.  I highlight the first part I want to quote and hit "Quote".  Then comment....then before posting, go back to the same post and highlight the next part you want to comment on and click on "quote".  Then comment on that.  Then post it.

It seems to be working for me.

  5. So when I called offense (which I hated), I just had my plays listed on a sheet.  Ha.

  6. I was talking to a certain Omaha Metro coach this weekend and he stated he hoped Nebraska could begin getting old. I didn't understand his statement and asked him to clarify. He pointed out in today's NIL, he thinks successful programs will target 3 star and project lineman (both sides of scrimmage) to avoid transferring and lower the NIL required costs. Thoughts? Never heard "getting old" on the lines before.

Why wouldn't you target 4-5 star players and hope that you get old on the line?

  7. For anyone looking for Husker gear, Homefield Apparel is dropping Nebraska stuff tomorrow.  Their stuff is incredibly comfortable and well made.  They have a tendency to drop some really cool items so I'm sure it'll be a big hit.

@GSG You posted in the BS thread?  I don't see anything there.

I've seen some media people pumping this up.  I go to the link and all it does is ask me for my email....which I have no desire to give them.  Is this really that big of a deal that the media is all excited about it?

@admo Yep, did it again two nights ago.  It's so dry I only have to mow once per week right now.  I need to up the watering.  Getting some pretty dry areas.

  10. How much should tree trimming cost?

    1. BigRedBuster

      BigRedBuster

Pretty hard to judge if that's appropriate because we don't know the extent of the work that needs done.  I got an estimate to take three trees down last year and it was over $9,000.  One ended up blowing down and I cut it up myself.  The other two are impossible for me to do.  Still trying to figure out what I'm going to do.

  15. So, UNL graduation today. There’s a clear bag policy. My daughter forgets and brings a small clutch purse. At the gate, they take her purse, put it in a gallon zip lock bag and give it back to her to carry in. Please explain the purpose.

@funhusker No, the lady was as serious as can be.  My daughter literally, walked around the corner, took her purse out of the zip lock bag and threw it away.  I am still absolutely dumbfounded by the thought process here.

  16. Union Omaha the local pro soccer squad, essentially at a single A minor league baseball level, just knocked off MLS Chicago Fire at Soldier Field.

    1. BigRedBuster

      BigRedBuster

Maybe they need to move up to MLS?  Mostly joking.  What would be interesting is that this would be the only "major league" professional sports franchise in the state of Nebraska.....and it's soccer.

It would be interesting to see how many fans in the state would get behind it.
