    I think it's pretty clear now that the greater football world doesn't get Nebraska. We would rather go 0-10 if it meant the alternative option was not playing at all.

    YES!!!!  I have a new hero.  This has been a major problem in our society for a long time and it's time to stop it.

      @ZRod I'm guessing it all depends on the part of Mexico they come from.  I live in an area with a lot of Mexican immigrants and a lot of authentic Mexican Restaurants.  It's interesting that you can tell where the family is from running the restaurant by the type of food they serve.  Some have burritos and some don't.  And...they are quite different than the American burritos I grew up with.  The ones that serve burritos more are more central to southern but not on the coast.  Like around the Guadalajara area.

      Kinkaider had a smoked alt a couple years ago that I must have been the only one that liked it because they stopped making it.  But.....I really like Alt beer and the light smoky flavor was awesome.

    Anyone sear chicken hindquarter in a pan or on the grill before smoking them?  I hate smoked chicken skin, it is so rubbery.

      There are ways to make the skin good like Knapp linked.


      But, if you don't mind, get rid of the skin, coat it with mayonnaise and then season it with your dry rub.  The mayo ends up being like the fat you would find in the skin and it helps the seasoning stick.  I've seen where people have said to use mayo on ribs before you season too.  I don't.  I use mustard.

    I will start.  I think...for me the first time I remember the price, they were .69 cents.

    Seeing articles about packed beaches over the 4th.  My question:  why on Earth do people enjoy this?  Pandemic or not...

    This is like trying to manage getting in and out of North Stadium without the enjoyment of attending an actual football game...

      I'm sure, when I was a kid, McDonalds was somewhere around 30-40 cents.  

       

      I remember there was a place in Lincoln that sold 10 burgers for $1.  I had a friend who would buy $10 worth, fill his freezer and eat out of it all week (or more).  


      The best deal in Lincoln at the time was one day a week the biker bar at 27th and Holdrege would have 25 cent tacos.  They were damn good too.  We would go and get 12 tacos for $3 and we were in heaven.  

       

      @JJ Husker, I had friends who lived behind the Burger King at 48th and Hodrege.  They would dumpster dive at least once a week at the burger king right there.  Then, they were caught by the manager and threatened to call the police on them.

    The media seems to be really pushing athletes to attend HBCU’s especially after a 5 Star basketball prospect picks Howard over UCLA. Seems like a one year wonder kind of deal once this blows over but this will be interesting.

      I've made the one I linked (and then realized it's mentioned in the video above) and it's easy.  I use my beer fridge in the garage.  My wife is well used to me doing strange recipes in that fridge.  She stopped complaining when she tastes it.
