  1. To be fair to the PAC12, that conference is absolutely loaded at QB.
  2. I agree with your assessment on culture. However I didn’t have a problem with OT play calling. Heck if the D had held 1 more play we could’ve won with a FG.
  3. Satterfield isn’t the HC? My biggest grievance with this game was clock management at the end and that’s on Rhule.
  4. And guess where the change needs to come from? The guy that’s turning the ball over.
  5. Satterfield isn’t turning the ball over. People act like we’re a good running team. We’re an average run team that can’t pass. That’s why we haven’t been scoring points. We aren’t Michigan where we can just lean on the o-line. The only teams that pass less than us are the military academies and people act like we’re giving up on the run.
  6. Messi, Lewa, Neymar all wouldn’t be considered cream of the crop athletes by an American standard. Sure, elite athleticism can push a player over the top as in like Alphonso Davies or Mbappe, but you still need that technical ability. 2026 the US will be a great team assuming we have a good coach. The depth is growing.
  7. The problem in the Netherlands game wasn’t that we were less athletic. All 3 goals came because we weren’t tracking runners. Those fall on Adams/Dest/Robinson. All 3 are great athletes. A lack of awareness/laziness did us in. We had plenty of great chances difference is the Dutch fished theirs and we didn’t. Need more depth. Our guys were running a marathon in these games and by the end they were cooked. Our biggest needs right now are defensive midfielders and wingers that can stretch the field. The drop off after Adams is huge. Our only true wingers are Weah and Pulisic. BTW it’s been rumored Berhalter is leaving. His contract is up at the end of the year. Be interesting to see who gets brought in. Bright future for this team. This is not a golden generation.
  8. Some good and bad overall. Loved the call ups. The US is having somewhat of a golden generation and with possible olympics, nations league, and WCQ coming up we need to see where some of them stand, and playing international soccer is great exposure for some of these guys. Musah in particular being a possible steal. 17 years old and playing regular time for Valencia in La Liga. Born in NYC, moved to Italy and then England. Could play for all 3 plus Ghana. The good- -The midfield was spectacular. Kept possession and were all over the field being physical, pressing, and disrupting Wales. All 3 starters were outstanding. -Brooks is healthy and looked great distributing the ball from the back. -Dest was probably could’ve had a couple assists if not for some weird lineup decisions(more on that later). The bad- -No Pulisic (injury) or Sargent (travel restrictions) -Starting Lletget as a false 9? Huh? He only makes the squad after Sargent can’t leave Germany and then you start him way out of position? Reyna’s game translates better to a false 9 and you have 2 more strikers on the bench. -Midfield was at times TOO crowded. Not having a true striker and one of your wingers being more comfortable centrally at time made the spacing and structure bad. -KDLF doesn’t look ready for this level. Overall happy with the game minus the weird lineup. Lots of new faces and limited training together means the chemistry isn’t there yet.
  9. USMNT drew Wales today 0-0 in friendly. For reference here was the starting XI- KDLF*———Lletget———Reyna* Musah*——Adams——McKennie Robinson—Brooks—Miazga—Dest ———————Steffen——————— Subs- Llanez, Weah*, Gioachinni*, Cardoso*, Otasowie*, Cannon * denotes first senior USMNT cap
  10. Sergino Dest transferring to Barcelona. Also sounds like 19yo Brenden Aaronson of the Philadelphia Union will be joining American Jesse Marsch at RB Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga.
  11. Current best squad for 2020 IMO changes to a 4-2-3-1. Both fullbacks are attacking threats so you use 2 defensive mids to help cover with McKennie being allowed to roam up the pitch a bit more in the attack. Sargent Pulisic————-Reyna————-Weah McKennie———Adams Robinson—Brooks—(?)———Dest Steffen
  12. Can’t get twitter posts to work but LB Antonee Robinson transferred to Fulham in the EPL and Weston McKennie transferred to Juventes in Serie A.
  13. Anybody else having these Joe Biden audio clips play on the YouTube homepage? I'm not clicking on any videos so I have no idea where the audio is coming from.

It's not just Joe Biden clips; I had a couple car ads play too.

No wonder you can't tell where the audio is coming from. That's no ad, man. Joe Biden has taken up hiding in YOUR basement now.

  14. I’m not. What’s the point in including China when they obviously aren’t being honest about their numbers? If Trump got his way and we stopped testing/reporting cases I wouldn’t want those numbers used to push a narrative either. Take China out of that and it doesn’t change the intent of the tweet. The US has done an incredibly poor job dealing with the virus compared to other developed countries. edit- Or Florida to be more specific but most states are seeing increased numbers.
  15. I don’t know why anybody would believe China’s numbers.
  16. Mutually beneficial in that Doyle gets paid and Iowa doesn’t have to deal with a long legal process that would keep this story relevant.
  17. While I remember being taught about stuff like Jim Crow and and the Trail of Tears as a kid I wonder if stuff like that should be taught again in HS. On another note I grew up like an hour drive from 2 different reservations. Would’ve been really cool and a great learning experience to take a field trip there and watch a pow wow or something. Maybe kids can’t really appreciate the culture behind it but I thought NA culture (specifically pacific NW) was really cool when I was younger. As far as Columbus goes its weird how much misinformation is spread about him. Things like that he was sailing to India which is why the indigenous people got the name ‘indians’. He was actually sailing to Japan. He was arrested and jailed for his mistreatment of Spanish colonists and the native Taino people he became governor of in the encomiendo system. The Spanish crown sent an investigator over and the report of his savage tyranny was found in 2006. Bartolome de Las Casas was a priest who transcribed Columbus’ diary which is where most of our information on him comes from. Las Casas ended up forfeiting his own encomienda and advocated for the rights of the native people. He documented most accounts of the atrocities that took place as the Spanish colonized the Americas. Although, in his fight for rights for the natives he proposed they bring in African slaves. It’s debated whether he had any affect on the creation of the trans Atlantic slave trade or not. Sorry I went so off topic.
  18. Catching up on this thread so sorry if it’s been answered already. Imagine Vick’s Vapor Rub but as a gas. It’s more dense than air so it can freak out a little bit as if you’re choking or struggling to breathe but if you stay calm you won’t have that problem. Stings your eyes really bad but it does an amazing job of clearing out your sinuses.
  19. Reyna gets the winning assist to put BVB over PSG. Also the third youngest player worldwide to appear in a UCL knockout game.
  20. Reyna is having one hell of a game.
