  1. Out of curiosity how popular was Burnie when he first announced he was running in 2016? To me YANG GANG’s internet popularity has a similar feel to the whole ‘Feel the Burn’ thing.
  2. Thanks for the reply. One of the reasons I brought this up is the current internet popularity of Yang similar to that of Trump or Sanders. I occasionally listen to Joe Rogan’s podcast and he has Yang on. Didn’t pay much attention to who he was until I was on the internet and/or playing games and random people are shouting/typing ‘YANG GANG’. I think to a certain extent the whole ‘internet crowd’ is a huge boon to someone’s campaign. I kind of see that crowd as the type that doesn’t delve deep into the details and rather watches a short clip on YouTube. They probably don’t largely care how experienced someone is as long as the message resonates with them. I could be wrong here but for those reasons I see Yang as a big player in the upcoming elections. To me, it’ll be interesting to see who encapsulates that crowd. Be it Yang, Sanders, or someone new.
  3. Gonna start this off by saying I’m a younger guy who doesn’t follow politics closely, and I’m no wordsmith like knapplc so if this post seems sorta amatuerish, it is. I’m sure non politicians running for the highest government office in a country isn’t a new thing, but with the advent of the internet and social media these people that were once probably largely pushed aside for more experienced candidates are able to generate an equal or even greater following compared to their peers. My question is do you more politically educated people see this as more of a fad? A somewhat anti establishment growth that is prone to wane at times? Or more of a trend that is shaping future global politics? Any other thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Hawkeye fans - Nebraska fans are always living in the past Also Hawkeye fans - cries about Nebraska’s ‘future’ ranking because of past results ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  5. Brett Froendt was my dads best man. Huge Husker fan and alum FWIW.
  6. So like being from a naturally strong family?
  7. And the fact that it’s an athlete that was being charged in the same state hence the same laws. It’s not inconceivable that Mo takes a plea deal to get the child pornography charges dropped given the context. I don’t know exactly what will happen in Mo’s case and I’m sure neither do you but any info that can give some sort of insight into what MAY happen is always appreciated and shouldn’t be met with being called a ‘terrible terrible post.’
  8. How is that post terrible? A large segment of this thread has been about what sort of punishment Washington could face and he posts a recent article about a similar situation in the same state that uses the same laws.
  9. If it’s unavoidable it shouldn’t be a penalty.
  10. It isn’t really. It’s just covering HS aged kids. Probably makes more sense for smaller schools like the one I graduated from where we only had like 20 girls total in HS.
  11. A name I saw get thrown out on another message board was Jerry Montgomery, the Packers current D-line coach. Before joining the Packers he coached d-line at Wyoming, Michigan and Oklahoma. Played with Chin at Iowa and coached d-line at Northern Iowa while Chin and Frost were there. Edit- I’m dumb and didn’t realize Montgomery was already mentioned in this thread my apologies.
  12. It’s hard to say what sort of relationship they have. It’s reasonable that beings they’re both alumni that they have met. I’m sure they played against each other a couple times in the NFL and beings he was on the previous staff you’d imagine Parrella probably tried to keep his job. I’m not saying Parrella should get the job, just that I think ‘hire the best guy available’ is not going to be what Frost does unless that guy also has some connections to Frost. Personally I like Parrella. Think if given time to build connections he could be a great recruiter. Either way I’ll support whoever Frost hires.
  13. That’s not true at all. Frost’s staff here isn’t his staff because they were the best guys Frost could get. It’s because they’re guys Frost had a relationship with and could trust. I don’t know the extent of their relationship but beings they’re both former players and he was on the previous staff I’d at least assume they have some form of relationship. Dante was considered one of the best recruiters in the nation and a rising coaching star but got the boot because Frost had a relationship with Fisher. We just had the best recruiting class avg ranking wise and the only notable recruiter we have IMO is Held.
  14. Lets get some more context before we make blind accusations.
  15. I’m willing to bet Frost will hire someone he has some form of relationship with. I think Parrella would be a good fit for this staff. Like Mav touched on its hard to judge his coaching ability but I would say he was the 3rd best recruiter on the staff after the Williams’. Which I thought was pretty surprising given his probable lack of connections.
  16. I would’ve liked if EA fixed issues with the game instead of them being carried through to the next 5 games. I would’ve liked a better player career. The NBA 2K games had way better player careers. A lot of the mechanics in the passing game were bad. The momentum system needed an update and switching players on defense after a completed pass was similar to gambling. I didn’t play 2014 so it’s entirely possible a lot of those things were fixed but the issue is that they should’ve already been fixed. Also the GTA comparison works because my arguement stems around whether the new game is worth its asking price. There were some that had major improvements and were, and others that barely added anything and weren’t. Edit- Also losing the FCS schools and getting them replaced with Directional State blew.
  17. But I’m not arguing whether it’s enjoyable. I said I had fun playing the game.
  18. You’re telling me if GTA VI came out this year but it was just GTA V with slightly better graphics and and a couple new missions and things to do and was being sold for $60 it would be a great game because GTA V was a great game? No. You’re giving it a pass because it’s a sports game that you enjoyed.
  19. Which is exactly my point. Like I had fun playing the game too because of that. Back in HS/MS I realized how bad the game really was and stopped buying it every year and started buying it every 2 or 3 years unless there was a major update to it.
  20. So $60 yearly for a game made by a company that yearly gets voted the worst company that had rather lackluster additions to the game, half of which had been on Madden for a year or two, is a good game to you? EA knew what was going to happen to the franchise and cut spending on it. People whine and complain about FIFA/Madden/NBA Live but act like the NCAA franchise was any different. If it was still around today it would just be ultimate team and loot crates. I’m not saying you couldn’t have fun playing it, but without a doubt it was a bad game.
