  1. Alabama 39-1 (10-3 in 2010) with 3 titles. NU 38-0 (11-2 in 1996).
  2. The 94, 94, & 97 Huskers were all undefeated! End of discussion.
  3. I noticed a great deal of late, out-of-bounds hits by Oregon that weren't called during the game. In the past few bowls games on TV, especially the in the FSU--Louisville game, there were tons of helmet-to-helmet hits that weren't called. Many of these by FSU were obvious leading with the crown of your helmet. It seems that we were called for many questionable late/helmet-to-helmet hits toward the end of the year. I'm not saying that's why our defense s*cked, but I wish the refs could be consistent.
  4. Two dropped first down passes, a blocked kick, a fumble that should've ben a first down, and four massive plays give up by horrible defensive plays, two INTs, too many false start penalties to count. I feel back for Rex. He played like the stud he is. You can try and blame our offense (423 yards today), but we lose ANOTHER game when we scored over thirty points. Our defense is just so bad it's indescribable! Our offensive line played well for 2 & 1/2 quarters, and then it was back to the usual shooting itself in its foot. Just think of how well we would've done this year with an even decent--not good, just decent defense. 75, 87 & 50+ yard TD passes given up.
  5. nice, obvious blitz call with the safties nowhere to be found!!!
  6. Rodriguez is crap. A false start, then a holding call. Sit him!!! What a way to lose the game when we had been moving the ball so well.
  7. The db should just grab him and take the 15 yard penalty, rather than give up the TD!
  8. So I not only have to point out the problems, I have to have all the answers?! I thought that was the job of the head coach. How about a new defensive coach, and someone who can coach special teams.
  9. I stand corrected. The Husker defense gave up an average of 56.3 points in the 3 losses. It wasn't 58 points, or 23.3 points!
  10. A conference title once every 7 years would be nice. And not getting beat by by an average of 58 points in your 3 loses would be a great start.
  11. "Bye, bye, bye." He better hire someone who can coach the defense, and one for special teams. The offense, even with all the TO's, was clearly not the problem. The Huskers scored enough points to win 12 games this season. Out of 13 games, the offense scored less than 23 points, once! The defense and special teams were horrible! In our loses, teams ran through the blackshirts like they were starting an all Snickers candy bar team on defense. Our kicking game: punting, FGs, kick coverage, and return game miscues were very unHusker-like. We played most games by giving the opponent the edge on defense, and special teams. And you wonder why TM played like he did. He knew that he had to do it all for us to have any chance to win. If we had an average defense/special teams we would easily be 12-1.
  12. Kellogg would've had a better chance to have more reps in the game if the damn WR/TD had caught the balls that hit them in their hands. Two were for 1st downs! And another of his passes was behind the player but may have been catchable. If I was him, I'd be a little pissed.
  13. While there were numerous mistakes made in this game, I am proud of how the team battled 'til the very last second! Things to work on: The O-line couldv'e played much better. Many times TM was rushed to make a throw when he shouldn't have been. The worst time occurred when we were in the red zone and the receiver was open but Long whiffed on his block. TM had to rush his throw that should've been an easy TD. Or Rodriguez getting multiple false starts to kill a drive. The DBs need to stop hooking with their off hand. Each time it happened they had great coverage, but panicked. If they would just try to make it the most difficult catch for the WR, instead of an incomplete than they wouldn't have gotten those PI calls. P.J. Smith and others need to start playing the ball more. That long TD over the middle would've been an INT if he would play the ball. I feel that the pick that TM threw on the goal line was more a fault of Tim Beck. It's a really dangerous pass to have your QB throw in that situation. The pass to AA in the flat for a TD was a great call by Tim Beck. What has happened to our kicking game?! Do we have a backup kicker? Maher punts the worst when we need him to really hit a long one. His first punt yesterday was so bad it was like us fumbling on 3rd down. And now we have to start going for it on 4th down because he can't reliably make a 30 yard field goal?
  14. Kirkwood is the best bar in Chicago to watch the Huskers. It has tons of giant, flat screens, and all kinds of places to watch it from. I usually go by myself and find a good space against the wall. The DJ plays the Husker fight song after each score. It gets pretty packed, making it a really fun place to be. There is an affordable hotel near Belmont and Sheffield. It's right near the Belmont red line "el" stop that you can take to Howard, and then switch to the Yellow line to Evanston. Evanston is where Northwestern University is located. Kirkwood 2934 N. Sheffield Chicago, IL 773-770-0700 Official Chicagoans 4 NE Watch Site
