Congrats Danny!!  Our son did the same last year.  He enjoys his work as a PT - doing 'in home' PT which he says allows him more time wt the patient.   Enjoy your new career.  Oh, by the way .. my knee is hurting.. 

(I did have knee surgery a few years back and the PT really helped get me back to normal)

MEM - I'll have to ck Townes Van Zandte  -- and yes Dylan has to be on everyone's list of story telling singers. 

ladyhawke  I purchased America's Horse wt No Name (hard to beat that song - it is a summer song) when it & the alblum came out in 1972 - I never get tired of it and - it or their Greatest Hits is always one of our 'trip CDs'.   Neil Young is my favorite individual artist - his songs Heart of Gold and Old Man - probably rank as my 2 all time favorite songs wt Horse wt No Name and Southern Cross close behind.  Each one of the CSNY members were good to listen to.  Then there is Gordon Lightfoot - the best ballad/story teller singer of all time IMHO.  I could go on and on - Doobie Brothers, CCR, Eagles.   For more intense rock - my favorite go to was The Who.

Dilly - start showing him the benefits of being active and exploring.   Try to push the positive side -- he may be just tired of a dead end job.  If you live in a metro area there are a lot of volunteer things he could do.  If he likes cars, there are organizations or churches that sponsor free car care clinics for people who need the help - the list is endless.   Give him a few weeks - he'll get bored - then provide some solutions to that boredom.  

Someone else said  - You don't retire, you REFIRE! I'm still a few years from taking the golden watch (most likely will be a crack jack box watch) but I do want to volunteer and EXPLORE.  

It couldn't happen to a better team.  I hope he has the same influence on them as he had on NU.
