  1. Even if we get taken to the shower Jerry Sandusky style like last season against Wisky and tOSU? That shows me that we are not improving. It also shows systematic issues in the program. No one wants us to get abused like we have in some of our defeats but those two drubbings last season were Callahan style
  2. The cow is the best by a mile....the one thing that can even compete is the pig. Only because of bacon
  3. There are plenty of ignorant comments made by Headley in this thread. I don't have an issue with ignorance, it's only natural, but when you ignorance is spreading lies and the majority of your "knowledge" is based on propaganda then I have an issue with it. He did have some valid points, but he was also talking out of his bung hole as well. Yeah....pretty much lost all cred when he claimed Milk cows are horribly abused. Nothing is natural about factory milk production....over the last 5 years animal consumption has dropped 12.2% in America.
  4. I've heard geese called that before, but doves? naaah, that's insane. Stuffed with cream cheese and jalapenos, and wrapped in bacon, then grilled. . . one of the top 5 best foods known to man. You guys should start a meat eaters thread
  5. I am not 100% how you can say that? I am not calling you a liar... But unless you have insight to the program, i just dont think they will bring a wing to fill Vucetic or Parker leaving. If you said someone else, maybe, but i dont think we have much need for a wing... Obviously that depends on how the nex guys fit in. What super athletic wing that plays the 3 and 4 position do we have on our roster? Shields is a solid 3 in my eyes. We played Rivers in that role but he isn't a natural 4 at all. Pitchford is a natural 4 that will play some 5. Pettaway is a 3-4 guy. Biggs and Webster will man the PG position most likely Parker will move to 3rd string or transfer out SG you will have Gallegos, Fuller and Hawkins Fuller will obviously play some SF as well with his height. SF Shields and Rivers Pettaway is a 3-4 guy in my eyes, PF Pitchford, Sai would play 3 and 4 C Atewe and Pitchford and Vucetic if he is around
  6. That was pretty funny stuff...when going out to eat which is a rarity because of the lack of options available in the Midwest I always do my research ahead of time with sites such as happycow or vegguide. Both do a great job of helping veg heads find a few places to eat and sharing their menu options and also ways to customize dishes to make them veg friendly. Red Robin is a great place to go when grabbing a burger. PF Changs is awesome for non meat eaters as well as On The Border. I am sure most people don't care but the one or two of you that do I hope this helps.
  7. More people should buy those. Lets start a revolution!
  8. A persons taste profile can change after only a few weeks of "new" foods. I used to be all about steak, chicken, pork etc. Now I base my diet around veggies including soy and also some fruit. On a side note I am going to head towards being a vegetarian instead of vegan most likely. After calling and emailing multiple egg companies and farms etc i finally found a local Iowa farm only a short drive away that truly has free range chickens that have not been de-beaked nor are only given 67 sq inches of space as other free range companies have. The worst part was how one of the companies "egg lands best" bragged about how much space their free range chickens have. I then after many attempts got the rep to tell me a number which was a whopping 67 sq inches....considering a chickens wingspan that is absolute torture. just buy a freakin' chicken. that is what i would do. I plan on doing this one day you totally should. i think the more self-sufficient a person can be, the better. there is a farm down the hwy from where i live that always has a sign up selling eggs, my household should start purchasing our eggs from them. You really should. Not only would you support a local farm but you would most likely be eating an egg from a chicken that actually gets to be a chicken and spread its wings.

  11. Thanks Hedley Lamarr for the info! I now see why they were such a "huge get" for the B1G. We will end up with 20 teams. We are collapsing the ACC. Next move is Virginia and UNC
  12. Not true at all, this IMHO has more to do with either Parker or Vucetic going elsewhere. I would put it at 95% Vucetic 5% Parker. This transfer is a 3 for 3 guy which would put him in the same class as Vucetic basically. I am looking for us to finish with Atewe and a JUCO at this point. I really like this kids film. Super athletic guy who can play the 3-4. You then snag Atewe for the 4-5 and we may have a tourney team in two years I dont know where else Vucetic will go? I think he is someone who is going to be slowly brought up in out program-- I would not be surprised to see Parker leave, but it wont be till after this year. I think our need for a wing is small right now-- he probably plays an athletic 4-- i think this is 100% a move in regards to Atewe... Atewe probably hasnt made a decision so we are keeping Sai and Leslee close... but it does bring cause for concern. This has zero to do with Atewe and everything to do with a transfer. Leslee is the Atewe back up not Sai
  13. A walk on at Michigan. A pretty damn good preferred walk on judging by his film

  15. Maryland is getting a stipend in the 20+ million dollar range to aid in travel cost. The reason for this is because Marylands AD is practically bankrupt and cutting sports to even try to stay afloat. The stipend will come out of their cut from being in the B1G. Basically we are making them a loan so they can participate in sports.
  16. Abdullah will probably be the #1 if healthy starting the season. But I'm hoping to see more sharing carries with him and Cross next fall. Seems to Ron Brown has a habit of keeping riding on his top guy til he wears him out. We rode Rex too hard in '11, and Ameer too much last year, and both were beat down by the end of those years. Spreading the wear and tear on more bodies throughout the year would make good sense. This is what bugs me....we obviously have the talent at the RB position so use it! We could have 4-5 backs this year that can tote the rock. Abdullah, Cross, Frazier, Taylor, Newby. No reason for us to ride Abdullah like we did last season. If they would have kept Abdullah a bit more fresh last season it most likely would have resulted in more carries for Heard and him still here.
  17. Bodybuilders do not lose a sizeable amount of muscle at all when cutting. They cut fat and water weight by adjusting diet and cardio. Carbs are the key when cutting.
  18. April 6th, 2011 That was the day we found out 2013 was the year to make a run. The coaches have had 2 years to figure it out. There's simply no more good excuses. Yep. Pelini's players. Pelini's coaches. Get it done or move on. get what done? Is it time to move on if we lose close competitive games to UCLA, Michigan, possibily Ohio St in a CCG, and another SEC team in a bowl, making 4 losses again? Even if theyre all very close? Is it still time to pull the plug. Maybe I overread stuff too much, but I really wish it would be specified what it is that is supposed to get done to be acceptable. We're not gonna win the National Championship in 2013 (god, I hope I'm wrong as hell though) and I'd be willin to bet money we wont play for it either. I just dont know where we draw the line that says Pelini isnt the guy and we start all over again. There's just too many variables in how it plays out for it to be cut and dried good or bad. If we are competive and lose those games by less than 10 pts it would show improvement. If we get our bottoms smacked by 3+ scores again then Bo can go.
  19. I'm gonna go with Moore....all are solid though
  20. I believe the men's basketball team turns a profit in the 6 figure range. Obviously it is nothing compared to football
  21. All of us want NU to take the next step back to being an elite level program. Some feel Bo will get this done others do not. In the end all of us root for the same team and we all want those trophies for our team. We all want to believe that this could be the year etc etc. When looking at our schedule this could very easily be the best crack we have had at running the table. I don't see any excuses this season for Bo and staff. If he comes out and lays some eggs and we finish 9-4ish it will have been a failure. In the end lets just do whatever it takes to get the W's no matter who is leading the big red.
