I'm looking to buy a tablet/iPad. I've never bought one before and I basically just want it to surf the web, and stream movies/shows during flights. Is it worth buying an iPad, or would a cheaper tablet suffice?

I can't comment on the options others have mentioned but I got an iPad Pro 9.7 a year or two ago and I love love love that thing. It wasn't the least costly possibility by any means but I have had zero problems with it and use the crap out of it for about everything; surfing, movies, Netflix, Amazon Prime video, television, music, Kindle and audio books, Square credit card processing and the camera/video on it is excellent. It is a perfectly fine substitute for a laptop for travelling and business trips. The only thing I've found it won't do that I'd like to is AutoCAD drawings (and if I looked into it harder I may discover there is a way to do that). You could probably get by for less money but you sure wouldn't be sorry if you went this way.

I bought an iPad about 6 years ago and it is still going strong. I love it because I could download all of the educational apps on it and because I was on the Cloud I didn’t use much memory. It’s great for streaming movies and I can acccess Play Station Vue, Netflix, Prime and various sports appsvI’vd downloaded on it.
All of my devices are Mac do it works great. It just depends on what you want to use it for.
I also love my Kindle Fire. I use it to read books, although I could do that with my iPad as you can download the Kindle app on it too. Bigger screen for my iPad vs Kindle Fire.

Was in CO this weekend. On Monday morning I was leaving Denver and was listening to their “Altitude Sports” radio station featuring Brett Kane (formerly of 93.7 The Ticket). Him and two other goofballs were absolutely trashing Michigan St and talking about how Mel was committed to CU. Funny how things work out.

I stopped by my grandpa’s today, and he’s been going thru a bunch of stuff lately. He and grandma were big Husker fans. He had some hanky towel thing out, that said
“GO HUSKERS! Down with the candy police THUGS!”It looked pretty vintage. He had no recollection as to who or what the “Candy Police Thugs” were. Anyone know?

@MLB 51 Hadn’t considered that. My money would be on Kansas St. A buddy and I speculated on it being something along the lines of what @NUance suggested. Like maybe some kids were trying to sell candy outside of the stadium to raise money for a Girl/Boy scouts, and the U booted em off for not having a permit or some ticky tack thing.

For the music buffs out there. Is the jam that begins at 5:57 based off a certain song? That riff just sounds super familiar and for the life of me I can't place it.

Any recommendations for reputable auto mechanics in Lincoln?

I've used these guys a ton in the past when I worked in Lincoln and they've always done awesome work. If you have something European, particularly German they're tough to beat.

I’m usually pretty “over” a loss the day after the game, if not an hour or two after. It doesn’t ruin my day/weekend/week like it did when I was 10 years old. But I gotta admit, for the life of me, I cannot get this one out of my head.

@NUance I was at that game, and yes that sucked bad. But I had that same lingering thought of “Well we’ll still get 8-9 wins and go to a bowl” seemed to ease the pain a bit.
Additionally, 2017 sucked but we got Scott and that felt like a huge win. We had regained hope. 2018 sucked but we ended pretty strong and there was this sense of “It’s starting to happen.”
Nothing has felt good about 2019, nor does it seem to indicate 2020 or 2021 will be any different.

The ads at the bottom of the screen are killing the mobile experience.

Bud Crawford wins. Chiefs win. Nebrasketball wins. Omar and Keyshawn commit. John Frusciante returns to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. What a weekend.
