Quayshon Alexander ends speculation, signs with Huskers But his loyalty to the Huskers won out, and they held on to him. He'll also celebrate his decision at a ceremony at his high school on Wednesday. NU worked hard to ensure Alexander stayed in the class. The coaches went in-home with him every week after the dead period lifted, including Mike Riley, who made Alexander one of his first stops in January.

Four Falcons Recognized as NJCAA All Americans Dec 16, 2015 The NJCAA has announced its All Americans for the recently completed 2015 football season. Four Lackawanna players were amongst those receiving that honor. Named to the defensive First Team was linebacker Kapri Doucet. A resident of Williamsburg, Virginia, and graduate of Bruton High School. During the 2015 campaign he was credited with 40 unassisted and 19 assisted tackles. He accumulated 17.5 tackles for losses of 80 yards. Doucet also grabbed 1 interception which he returned 84 yards for a touchdown. He was the master of the big play as he recorded a Northeast Football Conference best 7 sacks costing the opponents 44 yards and forced 1 fumble while recovering 2. At the conclusion of its regular season, the Northeast Football Conference selected Doucet to its First Team All-Conference and was named the conference Defensive Player of the Year. Coach, Mark Duda was extremely pleased with the selection of Doucet as an All American. Duda said "Kapri is one of the best linebackers I have seen .His speed and ability to change direction is amazing and he has the big play ability that makes him special." Duda added, "It is no wonder that he is so highly recruited and will no doubt be an upper level D1 player". Presently, Doucet is undecided where he will continue his college football career next autumn.

Was thinking this current offseason. Right now really.....what leader needs to emerge or continue to stay in the team's spotlight for the Huskers to see max results for the upcoming season?

Good article, we appreciate you posting them here. It's now the offseason (ugh) great time to discuss what could be (even if those players aren't here).

Who are your top three players you feel need to be mentioned as a lifter of the year? There is only one chosen, but give your top three players that must show up each and every day as either an example, simply need to get stronger, or any combination of reasons you can think of. Sometimes it's really important for a senior to be (Josh Banderas for example) or a very important contributor regardless of class (Joshua Kalu) to step up and lead. Championships are won in the offseason. What are your thoughts? 1. Vincent Valentine - I'll almost always go with a valuable veteran contributor who is or could be an all-league player to help lead the team. The combination has led great teams. 2. DPE - Has huge energy, loves the game and Huskers. Plus he's coming off an injury. His commitment and extra work can motivate many. 3. Gates-Young OLineman that might have been our best on the line needs to become a leader. It's most likely our thinnest position. With so many skilled players back, the line is where it's at. Note - please don't turn this thread into a piss and moaning competition or how bad someone is or why we'll never be great again. Thank you!!

McKewon: Huskers close to finishing 2016 recruiting class “Naturally, there’s going to be some attrition from guys who are looking for more opportunity to play possibly at other places,” (Husker Coach Mike) Riley said. “And I’ve had private discussions with guys already who are interested in doing that. They’ve got a couple weeks to make that decision.”
