  1. I'm watching it on BTN2Go. The stream delay is killing me!
  2. I wasn't going to read 25 pages of this thread so some or all of this might have been said but here is my take: -Starting Jurgeons was dumb. He was not ready. I saw a stat that around 60% of his snaps were bad snaps. While watching the game live it seemed like 100% were bad. That completely derailed our offensive rhythm. Our offense is all about timing and the timing was off for all of those 60% of snaps. That doesn't equate to good things for the offense. -our Oline is a big concern. -Martinez wasn't going through his reads. On the interception he tried to force to washington with 3 defensive guys on him, mike williams was WIDE open on the sideline about 5 yards or so downfield. He just seemed off and it was like he decided where he was going to go before the play on every single play. Probably just nerves from all the hype from husker nation about the season. He will flip that script. -Anyone who thinks the sky is falling or that martinez should get pulled because of game 1 of the year needs to lay off the hard stuff. We are 1-0 and if we take care of business at CU, NOBODY will be thinking about this game. -It seemed like SF only used like 5% of his playbook. It seemed like we didn't show/run anything. Normally I would think that it should have been no problem doing that and still get a W but it did not go as planned. Not sure if that was just to not put anything on tape from this year before CU or what but im sure that is going to change next week. -Our defense looked like a much more attacking defense than I have seen in a long time. I know our defense is going to give up yards/points, but seeing guys making some plays and attacking was good to see. They will get better and that bodes well. Our defense saved us on Saturday for sure. -Wandale and Cam Taylor were the bright spots of the game for me. I know wandale didn't get a ton of work but excited from what I saw. Looking forward to both of those dudes making some incredible plays this year. -Also, Garrett Nelson. Dude is an animal. Mad man in a good way. i can't wait to see him play in a year or two. -I am done. Here is to making progress next week. GBR!!!
  3. LOL def a pornstar. NSFW but go search Brazzers and you will find this guy
  4. 15. Osborne coached 47 first-team All-Americans from 16 different states. The state of Nebraska produced 15. Texas was second with 9. That's freaking cool. Who says there isn't talent in Nebraska??!! I'm excited to start seeing some of these All-American Nebraska boys come back into the picture now that Frost is making it a priority to keep Nebraska kids in Nebraska.
  5. Really like this Will Honas kids tape. Kid can tackle and looks like a ball hawk. I hope we can get him.
  6. As much as it pains me to lose to Illinois, I dont think that was one of the worst loses in nebraska history by any stretch. Yeah maybe Illinois isnt that good, but we beat ourselves, coaches and players alike. I think thats fixable for being game 5 of a new era in Nebraska football.
  7. With this kid being as highly ranked of a recruit as he was and if this kid is as good as he is being made out to be, he is not likely to stay past the 3 years anyways. So instead of sitting him this year, might as well get him on the field for half this year and the next 2 years before he bounces to the pros. Doesnt seem like the redshirt does any good for us with a kid like this.
  8. the status below his name says "im the drunk guy at the party no one wants to be around." thats hilarious
  9. This is perfect, well said. I don't mind a few hires like this, but so far the entire staff is mostly old OSU guys without a great track record, particularly on defense. Resources can only do so much. This guy from Cincinnati hasn't been hired, but he exemplifies the type of coaches we're looking at... unimpressive. He's been at Cincinnati 1 year. He was the D-line Coach at Memphis in 2000 when they had the #1 run defense in the country. He was also the DC at UCONN from 2006 to 2012. They finished in the top 10 of Total Defense 3 times, top 10 in rush defense all but one season. His 2012 defense was 7th in rush defense, 9th in total defense, and 19th in scoring defense. This. Looking at his coaching resume and what he did at UCONN looks a hell of a lot more like what I want to see coaching our defense than what we have been seeing around here recently. I agree, I am pretty excited about this hire. Co-DC and DL coach makes a lot of sense. I am assuming Baker will call plays if this guy has the DL. I would think the same. It seems like mike is doing exactly what he said he was going to do. Bring in guys he trusts and also guys who have experience and who are experts in specific areas and can teach. So far all I've seen is guys that he believes fit this mold. Seems like this is a very cohesive staff he is putting together.

  11. I just have to say, I am liking Riley more and more. I'm starting to think the ginger might be a genius for getting this guy. Everything that he has done since being announced as the head coach has been about as spot on as possible. From recruiting, to social media, to how he has handled announcing "assistants", he is working flawlessly right now. I couldn't be more excited about the huskers moving forward. And I will say this, I didn't really want bo to be fired, but I would not be NEARLY as excited about whats happening with the huskers if bo was still the coach right now.
  12. damn this kid looks good. catches everything
  13. This. It seems like after the initial kick in the balls type reaction most Husker fans felt after it was announced that Mike Riley was our new head coach, that most have taken the "wait and see" type of stance. My take would be that I'm going to try to be optimistic about the future of Nebraska football until proven otherwise. I think Coach Riley is going to be a great fit for Nebraska based on research I've done and what I've heard about him since he was announced as head coach. Now a "good fit" doesn't mean championships, but that's where the wait and see comes into play. I cant remember who it was or what thread it was in but I go back to the person who said "At this point I'm WAY more excited about Coach Riley's 1st year than I would have been about Bo's 8th year."
  14. That very well could be the case. Just saying that either way we just don't know and won't know until some games have been played.
  15. I rarely post on here, I'm usually just reading. But I thought I would post because there are a lot of posters on here that are sounding very disappointed with riley already after 2 days of him being head coach. As much as I would like to see new blood on the staff and I would like to see some big name hires for coordinators and position coaches (just like I was hoping for in the head coach hiring before they announced riley which i was also shocked about but have warmed up to after researching him), I will give riley the benefit of the doubt to bring/keep whoever he thinks can get the job done until proven otherwise. First of all, having riley and anyone he brings in from his current staff IS new blood because they weren't coaching at nebraska previously. Also nobody knows what these coaches will do with our players and then the players they are now able to recruit at nebraska so to immediately say they will fail or that these are horrible decisions is misguiding thinking I believe. I also would put some weight towards the comment jason peter made that somebody posted on one of these threads saying that one of the best defensive coaches around told him we would be very happy to have banker. Not really saying that I want him to bring banker or that it is even official that he is bringing him, but if thats the decision he makes, im fine with it until the time comes that its not working. People can post stats until you are blue in the face that his win-loss record is worse or that the defensive rankings were worse, etc but there is no way possible to compare what these coaches did at oregon st to what they will do at nebraksa. Its just not possible to be able to equally compare them. I think some people on here need to give riley and whoever he brings/keeps a chance to coach our team to championship football and wait to make such harsh, negative judgements until there is actually a reason to based on games that have been played.
  16. Yay, always bleed husker red! i think this staff is going to change all the minds of everybody whose crying and being negative on this board (fingers crossed). As much as this is a shock to see, i think this is the best thing that could have happened for husker nation!
  17. i was on the tressel/frost bandwagon as much as anybody so I about threw my work computer out of a second story window and would have been immediately fired when I heard about this mike riley guy being hired. But now that ive cooled down and after researching and figuring out who the f**k this guy is, I feel like this will work out just fine. The guy didnt do sh*t at oregon state, just like nobody else in the world will, but with nebraska's resources i think we will be just fine. GBR!!!
