  1. What happenes when ESPN pans the camera past Kevin Warren sitting in the Mississippi St. stands watching his son play a game he deemed to dangerous for the Big Ten to play?
  2. From the guy who broke the story on the last vote.
  3. So the answer to this thread turns out to be YES, there is college football this season. We just chose not to participate.
  4. Here’s to a successful season for the kids!
  5. Michigan football was COVID free in August. 822 tests. Harbaugh tweet: "Stay Positive! Test Negative! Play Football!" Gattis tweet: "Tremendous Job by our players and Staff! All while doing Football! Sports is the answer not the problem!”
  6. They will push on. What is Bama enrollment? 40k? 2.5% plus the kids that already got it earlier this year. Plus the kids that don’t know it. I bet 10% Have been infected. Another month and they will Have 3 months of herd immunity to get them through the season.
  7. Did Europe have enough to export, or was it eveyone for themselves?
  8. Well 5 months ago we just got started. Does Europe already have this?
  9. This is why it should not happen. Especially if the other three P5 conferences succeed. The big 3 will be having Spring ball with the recruits the Big Ten loses to them before singing day. I will be watching the NCAA tourney. The kids will have no reason to play. Makes no sense unless everyone does it, and we know the SEC, ACC and Big 12 will not be doing it. They will be pushing through a fall season and see how far they get.
  10. 50 million a month. Isn’t that 1/6 of our population? I have no plans on getting tested unless I feel sick, or some one around me was and even then I might just stay away from others for a couple weeks. This capacity seems like more than we need. I think I would rather know how many people have antibodies.
  11. Big Ten is already looking like a joke. They may as well own it and start the season.
  12. I think he just acknowledges that he a prick.
  13. The Big Ten presidents and chancellors think they are the Ivy League with better sports. I mentioned this in another thread, but Delany once threatened that if college kids get paid like professionals for sports the Big Ten might go to an olympic sport and Div3 football model. I think someone mentioned that it was an idol threat from Delany, but I think he knew what he was dealing with in the academic world of the Big Ten. The Big Ten receives enough research money and CIC money they could continue to operate academically just like the ivy league. The Big Ten was in the lead on conference expansion, BTN, stipends, guaranteed tuition/medical and other items with Delany in charge and the other conferences hated it. The Big Ten was even in the lead on how to deal with COVID until they cancelled. Now the ACC/SEC and Big12 see an opening to stick a nail in the Big Ten coffin if they pull this off. ESPN will even turn on the Big Ten since they got in bed with FOX/BTN. And Notre Dame, a midwest school that doesn't have much love for the Big Ten either has joined in. So what will be the outcome? NFL ready players will leave (Michigan has lost their left tackle and best corner already) and not play in the Spring or Dome football if that even happens. Younger studs will start to think transfer for next fall instead of playing in the Spring. Recruits that came to play Football and not 'play school' will rethink commitments before the Feb deadline. The Big Ten will take a talent hit, and ND and the Big12 will be the beneficiaries along with some northeastern ACC schools. OSU is really the only team keeping the Big Ten relevant in the playoff era, anyway. If it is sustained, Harbaugh will go back to the NFL, Day will leave for greener recruiting pastures, and coaches like Fleck will use the Big Ten as a stepping stone like he did the MAC. Fretz and Fitz will stay. Nebraska will admit that they are a football school and leave for the Big12, especially given Michigan and Wiscy were the two Big Ten votes that got them kicked out of the AAU. Maryland and PSU will head for the ACC. Rutgers will get kicked out because they are Rutgers..... OK I am sort of just kidding here, but it was nice to vent.
  14. I am hoping success this fall. I am hoping no one gets seriously ill either. It would be good news.
  15. I have already seen Tennessee High school football highlights from a MIchigan recruit's first game of the season. If the high schoolers do not feel COVID they won't even know its around. No mandatory testing like the colleges. They will play though until someone gets really ill.
  16. This is awesome. How can they tell who won? I am not sure who is who.
  17. When do the real games start? ACC,Big12 and SEC?
  18. I don’t know...wishful thinking....wanted to rub salt in the wound.
  19. They will drop if the other teams play a week.
  20. Tate Reeves Mississippi governor @tatereeves Replying to @tatereeves I know this will not be popular, but there will be no game day social gatherings around stadiums: rallies, parties, tailgates. It’s no fun, but it’s what allows the athletes to play. I’d still rather be in the SEC with no tailgates, than the PAC-12 or Big 10 with no football. 2:49 PM · Aug 20, 2020
  21. Well this is another kick in nuts for the conference. I honestly hope the real power 3 conferences play and are successful.
