  1. A little different than a bad testimony. Apparently Dr. Swain was someone that Dr. Gay allegedly plagiarized.
  2. I wonder how Stanford and California feel. Maybe they stay with the PAC4 to help consume all the money WSU and OSU will get to keep, and let some things flush out for a year or 2.
  3. Why hasn't the Justice department accused and prosecuted him for it? That would fix it.
  4. Sorry I missed this. He has lots of messed up actions and comments for sure, but this is a bad way to handle it. Their job is to convict him, not suppress the vote. They are now guilty of doing things that Trump is a threat to do. This is going to backfire on them. I believe Colorado has write in locations for candidates in the general election....not sure about the primary. I thought I read that if Trump is not on the primary ballot, he cannot be on the ballot in CO for the general election. Does that mean no republican candidate will be on the ballot in the general election if Trump is the nominee? Doesn't that sound just a bit like voter suppression if states can just leave one party or the other off of the national ballot? That sounds like something they would do in Venezuela or Cuba.
  5. From 4 hours ago. "Emergency" board meeting at FSU. https://theathletic.com/5154574/2023/12/21/florida-state-acc-board-meeting-realignment/

  7. This CO Supreme Court judge, on the other hand I will vote retain. https://www.newsweek.com/colorado-supreme-court-justice-warns-chaos-after-trump-ruling-1853965 The justice said Tuesday's ruling sanctions "makeshift proceedings" by the lower court, which he argues did not allow for the former president to have a fair trial. "Because most other states don't have the Election Code provisions we do ... will inevitably lead to the disqualification of President Trump from the presidential primary ballot in less than all fifty states, thereby risking chaos in our country," Samour wrote. "This can't possibly be the outcome the framers intended."
  8. They reasoned this was due to insurrection. Trump is charged with lots of things. Insurrection is not one of them to my knowledge. Do you really want courts deciding who can be on the ballot outside of the rule of law? What the Texas Supreme Court decides to remove Biden from the ballot because of ALLEGED shady business deals? I would vote not to retain those judges ad well. I will be writing down the names of the 4 judges that ruled in favor. And I will vote to not retain them whenever possible. I would do the same in the Texas hypothetical above if given the opportunity. If a candidate screws up getting on the ballot because of procedure, so be it. This is just activism and a very bad precedent for voters. The same folks that pushed this are crying about how Trump will destroy democracy. Well, welcome to the party. I want the opportunity to vote against Trump, not have some court decide for me.
  9. This is messed up. In CO, we can vote on whether or not to retain judges. I might have to remember this. These judges gotta go. https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/colorado-trump-14th-amendment-12-19-23/index.html In a stunning decision, the Colorado Supreme Court removed former President Donald Trump from the state’s 2024 ballot, ruling that he isn’t an eligible presidential candidate because of the 14th Amendment’s “insurrectionist ban.”

  11. Maybe it was the only building left standing....along with schools. Israel arrests dozens of Hamas terrorists sheltering in hospital: IDF Israeli forces arrested dozens of Hamas terrorists they say were sheltering inside a hospital in Gaza on Thursday. IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari shared photos and footage of the militants being paraded out of the Kamal Adwan Hospital with their hands raised. Hagari said the over 70 militants surrendered their weapons to Israeli forces and were transfered for field interrogation.
  12. Word is that Howard's kid, Jace, who is injured got into it with the SC coach and the SC coach came back with a comment about it being an example of what is wrong with the hoops culture. Howard took exception to the comment. https://www.maizenbrew.com/2023/12/13/24000140/report-juwan-howard-jon-sanderson-hr-claim-jace-dispute-michigan-wolverines-college-basketball
  13. I agree I thought you were wondering why they stopped her. I guess I didn't read the other posts. Sorry. Edit: I do not understand where this crap is coming from. No way my kids pull this crap...or believe in it for that matter. Of course they are off to college now so who knows how that will change.
  14. I think I read she had used the bathroom before this footage was taken and was going back in to take pictures when they stopped her. My guess is she probably complained to the staff about what was written in the bathroom and got blown off, so she was going back in to take pictures and send to management. If they just let her go in and say nothing they probably keep their jobs and it would have been on the owners to make a statement....which they had to do anyway.
  15. The boards are all saying it's being investigated. I think Howard has shown a very short fuse on several occasions and is on a zero tolerance policy after the Wiscy coach head slap. This could very well mean he is done, which at this point would be OK with half the fanbase. When you have two NBA lottery picks and cannot make the tourney....
  16. I know we have messed up Gen Z in lots of ways…but these are not Harvard or UPenn kids. Where is this stuff coming from? The kids lost their jobs BTW. https://www.kron4.com/news/bay-area/farleys-east-parts-ways-with-employees-accused-of-anti-semitism/
  17. The title of the thread is about rumors. FSU to the Big Ten. I guess The CFP snub got them rattled. Yahoo article USA Today article Another article Edit: looks like this tweet started it. https://www.tallahassee.com/story/sports/college/fsu/2023/12/09/fsu-big-10-rumors-what-we-know-florida-state-leaving-acc/71862783007/
  18. Honestly I am over people calling for other people's jobs based on something they said or didn't say. Its getting old. I also doubt you can find a politician with a morale high ground. My post is about the antisemitism being exposed in our 'elite' universities. I shouldn't be surprised, but I am.
  19. Agree they need to do the work or autograph signings or whatever, but is the amount paid for such things regulated? are QBs really putting in 1.6M of work?
  20. This is an interesting statement from Disney in their 10-K. The 10-K stated, "We face risks relating to misalignment with public and consumer tastes and preferences for entertainment, travel and consumer products, which impact demand for our entertainment offerings and products and the profitability of any of our businesses." "Further, consumers’ perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands," Disney wrote. Disney honchos added that "the success of our businesses depends on our ability to consistently create compelling content" and "our revenues and profitability are adversely impacted when our entertainment offerings and products, as well as our methods to make our offerings and products available to consumers, do not achieve sufficient consumer acceptance."
  21. Does 10 over or hitting 85 matter with NIL? Just pay them enough to cover tuition along with their NIL money.
  22. https://www.cnn.com/2023/12/10/politics/cnn-tv-antony-blinken-hamas-sexual-violence/index.html “I don’t know why countries, leaders, international organizations were so slow to focus on this, to bring it to people’s attention. I’m glad it is finally happening,” Blinken told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.” “The atrocities that we saw on October 7 are almost beyond human description or beyond our capacity to digest. And we’ve talked about them before, but the sexual violence that we saw on October 7 is beyond anything that I’ve seen either.” Asked by Tapper why the United Nations and the international community have been so slow to respond to the allegations, Blinken said, “I think it is a question that these organizations, these countries need to ask themselves.”
  23. Various Ivy League presidents testified about the antisemitism on their campuses. It didn't end well. The UPenn president might lose her job. UPenn also lost a 100M donation. The Harvard President came back with an apology. This Tweet had a word not allowed on the board. The ChatGPT founder, who is Jewish, said that "for a long time" he believed that antisemitism was "not as bad" as people said. "For a long time I said that antisemitism, particularly on the American left, was not as bad as people claimed," Altman said. "I'd like to just state that I was totally wrong." https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/08/us/claudine-gay-harvard-president-apology-crimson.html
  24. I heard he got some momentum from the Newsome debate, but I didn't watch it. I guess he lost all that political capital quickly. Trump was certainly concerned when DeSantis entered the race. I guess he can focus on Haley now. I am not sure if she can pull it off though. I suspect DeSantis stays in through SC.
