    Rutgers

I'll be there! As will about 500-700 Husker fans from the tristate area. The entire end zone opposite the student section is Husker fans
  2. When they go, they will go together; so this means nothing. Nick Bahe is claiming getting rid of Riley would be too difficult and they are basically stuck like this for awhile. I totally disagree. If the board is as split as rumored right now, you can them both and start over with an entirely fresh slate. The majority of the board gets their guy as AD, that AD gets his coach, that coach gets his assistants. Getting rid of Eichorst and Riley is essentially nothing but a great decision and there is no better time to make it. And I liked the Riley hire!
  3. Who is? I wish any coach the best of luck with this sh#t show. I have no idea. They are going to lose to Rutgers, aren't they?
  4. Riley looks defeated in the sidelines. Gotta think retirement is something he must be thinking about. I like him, but he isn't cut out for this
  5. Fyfe has absolutely no zip on his throws. Every ball looks like a knuckleball. What's the harm in putting Bush in for the second half?
  6. The Pinstripe Bowl is the most likely and, in all honesty, pretty cool. I would try to head up from PA for it
  7. Golden single handedly laid the groundwork for the present day Temple program. He is a phenomenal recruiter and fantastic presence on campus. He could turn Rutgers around or even do great things at UCF. I don't blame him for the mess the is Miami.
  8. They were perfectly able to hire him last year, what makes anyone think they would now? This seriously won't ever stop, will it?
  9. I have not been a fan as long as most on this board, so I'm having a legitimately difficult time figuring out if some of these posts are serious. Are there actual human beings out there who believe that Chip Kelly is an even long shot candidate to coach Nebraska. Like this is a real conversation?
  10. It's all about the money. They need to pour every possible dime into the program then find a way to get more dimes. I also fully understand they pretty much already do that, but if Nike can get players to Eugene, you can get them to Lincoln with the same sort of plan. Make your program a feeder program to the NFL.
  11. They make me ill. They should know that Nebraska holds the license for out of date pump up songs and scarlet and cream. And winning. Especially winning
  12. The only way I see Reilly leaving is if SE tells him to let go of his top assistants. I can't see Reilly without those guys and wouldn't be shocked at all if he stepped away if asked to replace them.
  13. Is there honestly any realistic chance that Mike Reilly isn't here for at least 3 more seasons?
  14. No, but it's more than enough time to set precedents on how you expect the game to be played. Some mind blowing penalties have happened this year that even I (as anti Bo as anyone) wouldn't think would occur under a non-nice guy coach. The players are slow to get back to the line and already better at celebrations than they have ever been before. That mind set gets put in place day 1 on the job. Building a culture and program isn't something that just changes, though, even if you start implementing day one. Seven years of doing things a certain way leave it's imprint. Sometimes, a coach can come in and make magic happen right away. Other times, it doesn't work like that. Just as an example, Nick Saban took over a 6-7 Alabama team and they only went 7-6 in his first season. They had some decent wins, but, also lost to a 6-6 UL Monroe squad at home. In Tuscaloosa. Think of how Husker fans would've reacted to that... I defintely understand what you're saying, and I'm not saying Nebraska will go 12-2 next year under Riley (like 'Bama did with Saban in year two). I just take a very conservative approach to coaches building teams and culture, and I'm not drawing many conclusions (good or bad) from this season. It's not really fair in my opinion. I agree the the true MR system will not be clear until an entire recruiting cycle, so in about 3 years, but the penalties, focus, and overall demeanor of the team looks to have changed since his arrival. I also think that is a direct result of Reilly's personality. It's hard to believe that if we hired Bill O'Brien that the culture wouldn't have changed overnight.

  16. I was weary about Darlington's future, but he looked really good in the spring game and has carried himself with nothing but confidence. I'd love to see him get a shot.
  17. Sorry for the split posts, but how confident are they in Zach's health???
  18. I'm just watching the spring game now. Couple things: Can't wait to go to my first game this fall! Tommy Armstrong looks awful. System or no system, I hope the staff doesn't feel an allegiance to him. He doesn't look like a quarterback
  19. In a day and age of such technology, this is bound to happen, but this surely isn't the first time a coach has bad mouthed a school to his players upon his release. This was meant for his players in a private moment. Sure, Bo is likely a disturbed man, but he just lost what is probably the greatest job he will ever have. I don't doubt his intense care for his players. Curses are just words. I was in favor of his release, but I am personally cutting him shack l slack here
  20. Tennessee will be very good, very soon. Butch Jones is mixing some kind of Kool Aid in getting fantastic recruits. It's only a matter of time for them.
  21. I know Riley was up for big time jobs when Bama and SC weren't good, but does anyone know of any jobs in recent years at Power Five schools that he was considered or rumoured to be a candidate?
  22. Then the phrasing "sad and repulsive display of leadership" was a Josh Mitchell moment? That's great. Should totally be a thing now. But I still would have preferred a more emphatic statement vs what he said
