  1. I assume when you say "top rated recruiting classes" you mean top 10? Nebr has had one top rated class in the last several years. And yes... The B1G is a terrific conference, but the PAC 12 is equally tough most seasons and sometimes better. Little chance the B1G second team beats their first team. Any other conference?? Pretty good shot.
  2. More info on the Husker's latest commitment. VERY good get by NE. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/surprise-visit-nets-big-nu-volleyball-commit/article_bde39aec-bbb9-5bd9-bb84-6ed0e52779e9.html
  3. Being "spiritual" or even Christian doesn't automatically make one intolerant based on sexual orientation.
  4. Martinez will NEVER have anything close to the type of career Scott Frost had in the NFL. Frost was tough as nails. TM? Not so much. And even more unlikely is a scenario where he'll be ask to handle the ball. Have some if you forgotten how philanthropic he is with the football? I won't even talk about how much sturdier the locker room lockers are in the NFL, and TM didn't do too well last time he went up against a collegiate locker. Shoot, maybe he can be a kicker.
  5. I'll have what the OP is having. Wait! Changed my mind. I prefer going thru life with a clear head.
  6. Player: Audriana Fitzmorris Hometown: Lenexa, Kansas School: St. James Academy Club: Invasion Volleyball Club 16-1 Position: Middle Blocker Height: 6-5 High School Class: 2016 Offers: Nebraska, Kansas St. (That I know of for sure)\
  7. Uh..... When was the last time "everyone pick us to win the conference?" Using that line of reasoning (using that term very loosely) a Nebraska should have been "doing better" the last several years. And getting "fundamentally sound and playing complete football" is definitely that would help but that's not been a staple of Bo's Husker teams.
  8. This has little, if anything to do with KSU poaching our players. Sheridan had virtually zero chance for any meaningful playing time as a Husker, and just wants to play. She'll have a much better chance of getting on the floor there and given she's from the Lenexa KS area, KSU is a good fit. She's a great kid. I hope she does well down there. I have only one slight concern. Audriana Fitzmorris is a 6' 4" middle blocker for Sheridan's alma mater, St. James Academy. She will graduate in 2016 but is an absolute stud middle blocker who, from my understanding has narrowed her collegiate choices down to NEBR and K. State. You might see where that might possibly be a concern.
  9. Thanks for posting that. I had no idea about Albrecht until this article. I can't wait to see Larson next season too. I'm going to be able to see Annika, Maddie and Molly Haggerty Sports Performance 18 Elite team play when my daughters team plays in a Chicago tournament in May. Should be fun to see the upcoming Husker talent on the same court. That sounds really cool GM. You will have a first hand preview! It will be a trip having 3 Haggerty sisters playing for the Huskers too after Molly joins in 2016. There won't be three as Megan will be gone. At least not at the same time.
  10. My guess is she'll be with one of the twins.
  11. This is a BIG deal. Great for Omaha and for Nebraska.
  12. Yeah. It came down to Kelsey and Krista. Stats for the year were very similar. What hurt Kelsey was not getting to the Final 4. I don't like it, but it's not often NPOY is awarded to someone not in the F4.
  13. I'm absolutely shocked Kelley Sheffield didn't win NCOY. It instead went, again to Russ Rose. Easily the biggest travesty since I started following volleyball 20 yrs ago. Rose and PSU did very little more than what they did last year. Wisconsin on the other hand did a complete 180. Guess the good ole boy network prevailed.
  14. This a fabulous article. Definitely makes one proud to be a Husker VB fan. Having said that, I could see how fans close to other programs might misconstrue Coach Cook's comments as being maybe a touch arrogant. Yes, I know he only makes a direct comparison to situations outside Nebraska when talking about regional attendence and the inattentiveness at the USC-Wash match. I do think he could have mentioned there are other programs that are doing a decent job of promoting the sport. But as he said, there really is no place like Nebraska for women's volleyball. And again, for that I am very proud.
  15. Hard to argue with that ....... I'll give it a shot. Keep in mind, I think Coach Cook did a marvelous job this year for a number of reasons, especially what was noted by BigRedBuster. Having said that, I will be SHOCKED if Kelly Sheffield from Wisconsin doesn't get NCOY. First year coaching a team that went 17-16 last year, 5-15 in the B1G, finished tied for 9th in the league. Look where they're at now. Yes, they will likely get thrashed by Texas come Thursday but they had a terrific year even prior to the NCAAs beginning. Both coaches definitely exceeded preseason expectations for sure, but I think Sheffield had a bigger mountain to climb from the get-go. And who knows? Bigger upsets have occurred than if they were to somehow beat Texas. I'll sure be rooting for them.
  16. Really surprised that Hall and Haggerty weren't switched. Hall has had a better statistical year on almost all counts. Regardless, congratulations to all the honorees.
  17. Hunter broke her foot. She had surgery on Thursday and was at home in Omaha watching the games. She will be back this weekend on crutches.
  18. Oregon is a very dangerous team. While they were a little off in game two last night, they looked pretty good. They have one of the best setters in the country in Lauren Plum, and Liz Brenner is a do everything kinds player who does everything pretty darn well. NE can't sleepwalk through the march tonight or they'll be in trouble. If they play well though, it shouldn't be a problem for the Huskers.
  19. Already? Nebraska is one of two place that will EVER sell out a regional, the other being Hawaii and they're not hosting this year.
  20. That's BS. Too soft? Pelini is as soft as it gets. It's easy to loose control in the face of adversity. What's HARD is to maintain your composure when a reporter asks an stupid question. What's HARD is showing at least a minimal amount of class when the officials blow a call. Adversity doesn't build character, it reveals character, or in Bo's case a lack of character. Not only do I think he should been shown the door, I think they could fire him with cause. There are clauses in his contract about behavior and IMO, he has missed that mark in a big way.
  21. Not likely NE will get a number one seed even if they win out. Their RPI isn't high enough. Guess I don't see how it would be out of the question that they could move up from #6 RPI to #4...especially with a win over PSU. Guess it could also depend on how the others ahead of them finish too. You could be correct. Their RPI will improve also for beating PSU, maybe not enough to move into the top four. That would certainly be nice if they got a #1 seed.
  22. The last half dozen matches or so Kadie has arguably played better than Robo. Gonna be hard to replace Robo's leadership though. Someone will have to step up. I'm guessing that'll be Pollmiller. I bet if Larson gets moved, it'll be to the right side, not OH. And from what I hear, that's more likely than not. Lastly, as good as NE should be the next several years, PSU has what many feel is the best group of freshmen ever. Not just for them, for anyone. No sure thing, but they're gonna be loaded once again.
  23. Word of warning. If both teams win out, you'll have to shell out some decent $$$ to get tickets. Right now, SRO tickets are $100.00. They will go up a great deal more if NE wins their next three.
