I don't mean to over-generalize your statements, but I just saw strong conversations back and forth about the RB position. The OL has been my talking point this off-season regarding the running game. As for OSU, there are two overly simplified items that could be said for the game. The first being that we lost our 4 year starting QB. He was carted off the field and taken to the hospital by ambulance. Now, one could say you just play through that, but that's a lot for a team of college students to see happen to a teammate. The second is the defense. Regarding the first, even with Tommy in, he was throwing the deep ball and missing. He's usually good for 1 maybe 2 of those a game, but he hit zero of them. Tommy had issues reading the field, but he had bigger issues with just always throwing the deep ball no matter what. I contend that a QB who doesn't play that way is an upgrade. Is Tanner Lee that guy? I'm not sure, I haven't seen him play, but if he cuts down on half of the Yolo Bombs and into a few more completions that keep a drive alive. I like it. (FTR, I loved Tommy, he was tough). Regardless, this game you really started to see the issues of the OL. Add that to the fact that you're playing from behind, and losing starting QB. Throw in a cold QB who didn't practice the game plan as intensely as your starter against one of the best teams in the nation. I don't know if more needs to be said. They just didn't get it together. And then there's the defense. OSU had themselves a game, and well, we gave up a lot of big plays. I don't know how successful Bob Diaco and his system will be, but the "quarters" system wasn't that great of a fit for this team. Gerry was someone I think will look better in the pro's than his last year here. And that's saying A LOT, because he still looked good. But I think he will thrive outside of the quarters system in the NFL (of course, depending on where he goes). Generally speaking, a lot of teams look bad playing from behind. Every team in the nation, even the best of them, look desperate throwing the ball a lot when playing behind. The difference is how well your QB throws in those situations. Tommy missed on targets, and so did Ryker. Add all that up and you get a lot of 3 and outs. Then just making your defense go out there again and again. But almost every team gets in that funk at some point. Ours was against a playoff team. OSU did the same thing in their playoff game. Rushing only 23 times (11 were from JT Barrett, 3 of those were sacks), and Barrett throwing 2 INTs. Washington also did it in their game against Bama. As for Bradley (that's his name!), I saw him squeeze through holes and get some tough yards. He also has more TD's in Memorial Stadium than the rest of the returning RB's... Of course, this is against HS athletes, so that should be taken into account. Still, after seeing him play in person, I like the kid. But I have been wrong about prospects before.

I'd like to come in and add some points about what happened to the running game this season. The main thing was that Langsdorf did not trust the line to pull. I want to use this play from Illinois to illustrate the point (image from Husker Chalk Talk, which should be a must visit, https://huskerchalktalk.com/2016/10/05/illinois-tricking-the-beast-with-four-heads/ ): This is a QB Dart play, a play that utilized by a lot of teams. Here there's a pulling T. The pulling T is not the issue here, it's the T on the otherside, who just plainly whiffs his block. This makes the pulling T block the guy Knevel was supposed to block. This blows the play up and the OLB who was supposed to be blocked by pulling T makes the play. Additionally, they are/were young. Getting comfortable to "pull" has come along for the T's. The line in 2017 will be more talented and of course more experienced than this last year (not to mention healthy). Issues like this consistently happened. So much so that we only saw 1 pulling play vs Wisconsin (short TD run by Ozigbo), 1 puller vs. Minny, 5(!) vs Maryland, and 5(!) vs Iowa. (The other games after Wisconsin were zero, unless I missed something, which is incredibly possible, I'm not adding Tenn because I haven't watched it again, but I did see at least a couple). So why the big deal on pullers? As the article above from Sipple states, it opens up a lot of things. Sipple was asking about FB runs, which work incredibly well as a trap. Which, we all know from experience. A trap doesn't work without consistent execution from pullers and the rest of the line. But we didn't have that from our OL this year. Heck, we didn't run a true RB counter until Iowa. So we practically ran inside zone, outside zone, and jet sweep after Wisconsin, and that's it. The reason for the poor running game late in the season was NOT because of RB. It was because we were limited with the abilities of the OL. I am sure the RB's could have done better in some instances (I know I have my complaints) but I don't know if you could complain too much about RB's and RB's only. With that being said, I look forward to watching Tre Bryant. I think he has what we are looking for if the OL can get it together. And honestly, I really like the kid from Bell West. His name escapes me, but having seen him play, I was incredibly impressed. I'm sure there will be plenty more argument regarding RB's, but I just wanted to add that you can't blame everything on RB's.

So they are all most likely really nice. As stated above, the Holiday Inn was bought by another entity and is being renovated and rebranded into a Graduate Hotel. It does not look like they are taking any advanced booking though, despite renovation only taking a few months. http://graduatehotels.com/ You're closer to activities if you stay at any of the ones in the Haymarket. There is plenty of stuff to do in the Haymarket. All are easily within walking distance of the stadium. The Embassy Suites is close to the stadium (although, downtown Lincoln is practically walkable), they have their own tailgate there, but you're closer to restaurants and such if you stay in the Haymarket. Then again, it's only like a 2-4 block walk from the Embassy Suites to the Haymarket.

Yes. Look at the Dallas Cowboys last year. The 2011 Indianapolis Colts without Manning. Those are 2 teams that were supposed to compete. Their good QB goes down, and it makes 2 pretty good teams bad...

The fact that they don't coach DPE to count players prior to snap is beyond me. Or the fact that no one is counting themselves? I mean, I am not an official, but I'm counting from the stands... Also, going back a few weeks to OSU game when Bryant returned a ball close to the boundary. The fact that he wasn't coached that if he were to catch that out of bounds, that's a penalty against the kicking team. I know that sort of thing rarely happens, but there aren't too many rules for returners to need to know right? That to me seems like one to mention. Bryant looked like it was never mentioned. I don't know. It's the 11th game of the season, and we had 10 guys on the field twice on special teams. 12 guys the week before on the 10th game of the season. The fact that I have to mention these things as a fan in preparation of the last week of the regular season is troublesome. We are incredibly lucky that these things haven't cost us a game (yet).

Loved these. My favorite part was the Red football "N" on the pants. I didn't like them on last year's alternates, but they looked great in a white backdrop. Also, I love the Yeezy's. Brandon Reilly wore his personal pair during the game.

IDK... Every season is a meaningful season to me. I mean, we only get 12 (+) games a year. Also, people give Kirk WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY too much credibility. He's just a dude who gets paid to be on TV and do what we're doing now. Talking about football. Although, I will say he's one of the best in game analyst in college football. He's just a salty a-hole on twitter. At the same time, people gotta stop feeding him, then he becomes a troll.

The numbers seem out of whack on these last three. I mean, 77 lot attendants and 100 suite hosts? And only 89 people to clean the whole mess up afterwards? And 50 public agencies involved? I didn't know that many agencies even existed. : There are about 25 lots. Last year there was only one attendant in my lot but there are two this year for a pretty small lot. There have to be 6-8 for the parking garage northeast of the stadium. And last I knew there was one host for each suite, maybe a few extras here and there (not sure how many suites there are now). Seems like there should be more clean-up people but there isn't any time constraints on that. That would be about one person per section. I was curious about the public agencies as well. No idea who the 50 would be. Actually, the ROTC students clean up after the games. My step-daughter's roommate is in the Air Force ROTC, and they cleaned up after the first game. She didn't get home until 4:00 AM. I usually do my best to clean up after myself, but I have been guilty of leaving a pizza box behind or something. But after hearing that, I definitely make it a point to leave nothing from me behind. I previously assumed they had a paid third party come in and clean after the games. But learning that they were unpaid ROTC students made me think about cleaning up after myself. I don't want to tell you guys what to do, but I'd definitely suggest picking up an item or two to give those poor kids a break.

Watched the Iowa - Purdue game. Iowa has a very questionable secondary. Purdue lost their starting QB due to injury. So Appleby comes in and found holes all over Iowas very soft zone almost throughout the game. Iowa also got almost zero pressure on the guy. I don't remember seeing a sack all game from Iowa. They rarely blitzed, and well, obviously never got home on the blitz. Honestly, everyone on here wants to see us run it all over Iowa. But Iowas weakness is their lack of pressure and a questionable secondary. It would be nice to see us run it down their throats, but that's not Iowa's weakness on D.

I think Tommy knew the second guy covering Westy was coming and took his chance. Maybe I am just giving Tommy the benefit of the doubt, in which case I'm wrong. Maybe I'm too optimistic and biased about our players. I wouldn't doubt that at all. Regardless, I still don't like the play call. As I stated before (*cough* end of Illinois *cough*), if you want to run the ball, don't give your QB an option to run. Overall, the way the game was going, I like I-formation there. Or better yet, that split pro set that Tommy scored on the second to last TD (only because it looks cool), especially with Carter and Jano having a great day blocking.

To be fair to Langsdorf, that first down play was a packaged play. Tommy didn't like the numbers and saw a blitzing LB and threw the bubble (8-man box with blitzing LB). Honestly, just a great play by the DB on that, if he misses that tackle, TD. All WR's were in man coverage with zero help. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but why are we complaining about the playoffs? I love the Playoff. January 1st was one of the best days to watch college football I ever had in my life (Generally speaking, would take gameday here in Lincoln over it, of course). And, while we bitch and moan about rankings now, seems like they got it right when it mattered last year. They could have left OSU out and put Baylor in. OSU ends up winning it all as a 4 seed. Baylor lost to MSU. Let the season play out. I have a feeling ND will lose, and so will all these other teams (Iowa... to you know who), because it's college football. There's still tons of football to be played. Rankings this time last year: 1. Miss St. 2. FSU 3. Auburn 4. Oregon 5. Alabama

I park at the 17th and R parking garage on campus. I haven't had any bad experiences with getting out of the parking garage. $20. Traffic is relatively light, especially if you're heading east and/or south. I did it once. Would much rather park... It depends on how many people you're with and if you don't mind waiting for a bus. If you're early enough, you can find decent parking for $20+/-. Just my opinion, I'd never do it again, but that might because I am weird.

Agreed about our line. I think it was more of a 'raving over Imani' thing because of how much better he was reading his lanes and staying on his feet relative to numerous other personal performances. While I think Cross had a great game and fought for his yards. The same time, he has had an issue with following his blockers. There were a couple times that I saw him just go wide of his blockers and run into 4 defenders. He still gained 3 yards or so, but could've easily gotten another 5 if he followed his blockers. Could've broken a big play if he followed and found a hole.
