I promise Iowa that we will bring some serious aggression next year.

Thats pretty awesome. I'll admit, my faith has been run through the proverbial ringer after attending Iowa and MSU this year. But this shows his relationship with players is something to be proud of. I'll take him having a great relationship with the players rather than a great relationship with refs/media.

There isn't much difference between the two leagues when you look at record alone. The wins vs Top 25 are also biased since 3/4 the SEC is ranked at any given time.

Gotta say I'm a little surprised we landed this dude. Maybe he saw a big hole that needed plugged on our defense and felt that he was the missing cog to make that unit great. Really cool.

I think we agree alot about the league. The series though I just think would be better suited at the front of the year. It has a feel to it that would be a fun/tough opener for both teams. I just don't know that it has that end of the year Black Friday appeal. The problem for us is that we were used to the round robin of the Big 8 and the final game was ALWAYS the conference title game with OU. We never got that back even with Colorado. We hated the Buffs because there fans were pretty much sh#t to us. If Iowa is to take that role and offer that flavor we currently both lack, we both need to step up in a big way next year and both be competing for the division crown.

But what about injuries or relative inexperience at quarterback or opponents that actually show up to play football? Surely there are eventualities that will convince fans that another four loss year was actually an eight or nine win season, and that is just so darned good we'd look ridiculous firing a coach and sure couldn't get anybody to step into the brutal hot waters of eastern Nebraska media. If 11 or 12 wins is your minimum acceptable, let me prematurely welcome you to the darkside. You'll be one of us by this time next year. How do I know? I was where you are less than a year ago. The Dark Side its benefits right lol? I just don't see any way around it. 6 years is a long time for coaches this day and age. A 7th consecutive 4 loss season at a traditional power would be pretty hard pressed to support by the administration. Yeah were winning but nobody gives a sh#t. Thats a problem. Bo can do alot of things to win people back and reaffirm my loyalty during the offseason. That includes a bowl ring, a strong recruiting finish and a promising staff reshuffle. If none of those things happen, oh boy......

I expect no less than 11 regular season wins and at least 12 wins total. That is the bar set in place with the talent we have. If Bo's staff can't produce that then shake it the hell up. Time to get over the hump. My loyalty is wearing thin. Absolutely no reason we cant pull this off next year.

The SEC Bias is rather apparent. Even though they cannibalized themselves they still get the "strength of conference" because of the fact they are the SEC. The proof will be undeniable if/when they vote a non undefeated SEC team over Ohio State at 13-0.

You gotta hand it to them for their gameplan and execution. We looked sluggish and disorganized on most of our drives. It was painful to watch our offense. Our defense did what it could and that is commendable. Did they destroy us? No, the final was the result of a gassed Blackshirt unit and our ineptitude to finish the game out with a couple of scores to keep it closer. They can have their "blowout" because the trophy comes back to Lincoln in a year.

I'm not whining. But what old school fans are perplexed by the Iowa name brand? It's not a traditional power, not trying to talk smack, its true. Yes Iowa is a more recent BCS contender, well was before the hard times of the last few years hit. Nebraska needs to get back to relevance thats true to. But in alot of peoples minds Iowa doesn't have the appeal. Could they? Sure, but not at the moment. I know that is a hard pill to swallow and I'm not in any way trying to offend Hawkeyes by this, it's just an opinion. Like I said, it's going to be a good series but really I'd rather it be played to open league play rather than close it.

I am all for Iowa becoming a rival of ours. Hope it happens, really do. But I still want a different team on Black Friday. Lets be honest, the reason we aren't embracing Iowa isn't just because the series was forced on us. It's also because were a bit selfish as Husker fans and rightfully so. The other reason is because when people that aren't Huskers or Hawkeyes see Nebraska vs Iowa on the guide, they look for the next game on the slate. Nebraska still holds that interest but I don't know that Iowa has that Must See TV factor. Not an insult to Iowa by any means, it's just the way I imagine the game is perceived. You put Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Penn State or Miami vs Nebraska on Black Friday and regardless of records people will tune in. That's what we want, the sex appeal. Nebraska isn't the household name it once was but it still holds a grand interest. We need a rival that brings that same factor to the table.

Bo needs to be just as passionate as he's always been on the field. Scream, yell, cuss out Papuchis, and look like a scary man. To the media he needs to be more Tim Miles.

Im good with that. Hope it pans out. But only if Eichorst forces Bos hand a bit when selecting his replacement.

Honestly if we could get half our injured players back I wouldnt be worried about who we play. Hopefully Taylor can at least play a few series and get himself a ring.

A more experienced team. Thats about it really. The offseason will be telling but I feel good about next year. Put this season behind us and prepare for the next.

With Pelini as our coach I have no confidence in this at all. Its ok. Ill be confident for both of us.

Were not super upset about the game because of the other 3 losses. Were accustomed to a rough game this point in the year. Sucks but we know next years game will be different. Good luck in your bowl though.
