RB/WR Kyren Williams [Notre Dame - Signed LOI]
fwhuskerfan replied to Mavric's topic in 2019 Profiles
Looking at his 247 profile, I wonder if Kyren could be the Miles Jones hybrid type athlete for this class? Had 102 carries and 51 catches last year. It will be fun to see how all the pieces fit in the scheme going forward. -

Jeff Monken from Army as well, if you're going the service academy route. -

From Bill Connelly's twitter this morning, sounds like the waiver was denied for the QB. -
Any thoughts to the MRI kneeling combined with regent feedback being used as a negative against Nebraska? The coaches and admin seemed to have a good response, but there was a lot of negative publicity there, it seems.

Advanced stats people were not too enthused with the hire, Dave Bartoo (who is from up in the area) and associates on Twitter seem to think he coaches below talent a bit, and doesn't recruit particularly well. Slow starter as well, which may bode well for next year's game. Look up @CFBMatrix on twitter and check the Tweets with replies for more detail.

Clicking on go to new post downloads page in Chrome
fwhuskerfan replied to fwhuskerfan's topic in Board Feedback
Hm. May be something with my system, but I'm getting weirdness in firefox now as well. I think its the same behavior, but FF handles it differently in that it displays the page code versus downloading it, like happens in Chrome. In any event, here is what I get when I click on a red folder in FF: Refreshing the page applies the styles and everything displays normally. I will try and do some troubleshooting with web console in FF and let you know what I find. -
Using desktop Google Chrome Version 54.0.2840.99 m (64-bit) Every time I click on the folder icon to go to first unread post it downloads the page. If I click again, it will load the latest post. However, I have a bunch of index files that I need to delete from my downloads folder when I'm done at the site. Any thoughts?

AJ Bush Transfering - IWCC, then Virginia Tech, now Illinois
fwhuskerfan replied to hskerholic's topic in Husker Football
You probably are; it has more to do with POB and Tanner Lee. I thought Bush had moved to WR. But I'm pretty foggy on that. In which case he'd seen those signs awhile ago. Are you thinking about Darlington instead? -
They may sell out quick, but they show up late and are a bunch of jerks. Good on them selling out, however.

Ex - Husker Parrella to be named Husker D-line coach

A tidbit on recruiting from an older LJS story: http://journalstar.com/sports/local/football/leaving-football-never-an-option-for-parrella/article_be601aca-ce73-52c6-8e69-19d853a172e3.html -
I think he was moved off field as a coach, from the bio...

Elijah Robinson http://owlsports.com/staff.aspx?staff=532 Elijah Robinson begins his third season as defensive line coach for the Temple Owls. In 2016, he added the responsibility of Defensive Run Game Coordinator. Robinson’s impact on the defensive line has been apparent and immediate. During the 2015 season, the Owls recorded 33 sacks, including a season-high 10 in the win against Penn State. Robinson once again saw his players recognized, as DT Matt Ioannidis and DE Nate D. Smith were named first-team All-Conference. Smith led the team with 7.0 sacks for 47 yards, while Ioannidis ranked in the top three for TFLs with 10.5. In the first four games of the 2014 season, four touchdowns were scored by the defensive line. The team had nine sacks and 21 tackles for loss. By season’s end, Ioannidis and DE Praise Martin-Oguike were making every All-Conference list. Ioannidis notched 47 tackles and a team-leading 11.0 TFLs while Martin-Oguike’s 7.5 sacks were the most by an Owl since 2010. Robinson, a Camden, NJ, native, came home to Philadelphia after spending the previous ten seasons with Penn State. The former Nittany Lion defensive tackle transitioned into coaching when his playing career was cut short after suffering a neck injury during spring practice in 2007. Robinson graduated from Penn State in 2008 and joined the PSU staff as a graduate assistant coach one year later. His primary responsibilities were assisting Larry Johnson in coaching the defensive line and preparing the offensive scout team from 2009. In 2011 he was promoted to a full time coaching position. Then in 2012 when Bill O’Brien took over as head coach, Robinson became Penn State’s director of player development and NFL liaison. In that role he would organize scouting visits, orchestrate Pro Day, develop community service initiatives and serve as the football team’s liaison with admissions, compliance, housing, and academics. Robinson earned All-State and All-South Jersey honors at Woodrow Wilson High School, leading the team to a 15-0 record and a state championship in 2002. ### Also, for recruiting: http://247sports.com/Coach/Elijah-Robinson-2195

I think Collins will do well in the interviews and the workouts, and will creep up the board. D-line is a deep position in this draft, but the Broncos showed what a strong D-line can do to offenses, so I expect a lot of teams to focus on D-line in the draft. Given the depth of D-line this year, I'm going to predict right now that Valentine will regret leaving UNL early. I know, I know. His family needs $$ right now. But leaving school early without a degree, and little chance of making an NFL roster, just isn't the way to go. Sure wish he would have stuck around another year. Valentine got his degree in December. That's the main reason he left. Having his degree or Hughes as a coach the main reason?
