We can’t let anyone who shows up here enter the country and have legal status. We would be quickly overwhelmed and cannot effectively assimilate that many people. In addition, the liberal welfare state with its myriad of handouts, makes it far too expensive to support that many people. We must have borders. We must have immigration laws. We have to control the flow of people coming here and know who they are. You’re simply mistaken (or willfully ignorant) about the status quo. These immigrants are being coached to claim asylum. We don’t have the judges to process them in the short window of time the court allows us to hold them. So many are simply released with no processing and told to show up to court later. Many/most simply ignore those orders and remain here illegally.

I consider differing points of view all the time. My views generally are all over the place and I frequently criticize Trump. In fact, I may be the most independent-minded poster here.

Are they credible allegations? Is there anything to support or substantiate them? Are the accusers crazy or politically motivated? DEMOCLOWNS OWE JUSTICE KAVANAUGH AN APOLOGY

Lame response. They treated the allegations seriously and said they would not confirm him because of them. They raised holy hell when the Republicans voted for him anyway. They said they believed Kavanaugh’s accusers...what does that indicate they believe about Kavanaugh? And yet now we hear crickets. Their lies to destroy a good man failed. They never believed them at all.

So you guys have gone from being convinced that Trump is a unique and existential threat to the country who was only elected because he conspired with Putin to fix the election and would be gone anyday...to laughing at some bit player marginally related to the whole thing for having his fly down?

This sounds far more like the modern equivalent of a green card holder than someone who just wandered across the border illegally and popped out a kid.

So if the Democrats REALLY think that Kavanaugh is a gang rapist/sexual predator, how come they quit talking about it entirely? It’s ALMOST like they knew it was complete BS and were willing to go along with it and destroy a good man so long as it could possibly help them politically. Roughly 50% of the country loves Trump. I count two of us here, out of a few dozen posters, who are even willing to to even listen to him and haven’t decided he’s some combination of Satan and Hitler.
