  1. Hello, I hope that your two points are wrong, because - tx with young next year will easily be the front runner for the natl championship (yet, unlike leinhart I think he will skip his senior year, because of $ - he will be a 1st round pick or at worst 2nd - he will sit for 2 years & some nfl team will development his passing skill, to me he is less raw then aaron brooks was 1999 (va & n.o. saints), he is bigger can take a hit better, & like brooks a nfl team will develop him where a college team failed him - it is in his best interest to leave (tampa bay is still trying to iron out the errors in sims that 4 years of tx did to him). thomas' returning is fine, because UN does not have any depth at ot, the players coming in this year so far are not ready for D1 football (jones) & there are not any good prospects to plug in from JUCO this year (none) - recruits from last year are really-truly og's - except for pasteur. I think murtha moves to lt & thomas if granted another yr will move to rt (in place of seppo) or play a lot as a #2 - My point is depth is important, especially at ot, & cally needs as much as he can get from his players & their knowledge of the wco, since the homemoon will completely (& I stress completely) be over next year.
  2. (whipping horse did not want to appear, today) Hello, that whipping did not take place that was posted above, yet (to me) this year is simply practice any way, because no one has a chance at dethroning USC - I would hate for us to be terrific this year & not have a chance at a title, like VT & TX - who may never be this good again, & who will come away with nothing. Next year, more recruits from last years recruiting class will play greater roles, & recruits of this years class may stop in. Plus, UN will not lose a lot to graduation in #'s (ross, adams, smith & bullocks, & some other role players) - & thomas & muhammad may be granted an additional year of eligibility, & UN will return a lot in experience & knowledge of the WCO (especially from taylor) - so next year watch out. A # of UN's opponents for next year will lose their signal caller - USC's leinhart, MU's smith, UT's young, A&M's mcneil, & CU's - which is a ton of experience lost & most of the teams refinding themselves with their new qb's - & I believe UN will have a year similar to OU's 2000 (under josh heipel) next year - mark it down & have faith & remember that this year is practice for everyone.
  3. Hello, if dean, houston & poe do not come...I do not think it is a big loss. Dean wants the west coast & the west coast (ore) wants him, & poe knows of the log jam at lb, plus a few lb's are redshirting this year & will also be in the mix for the years to come, & houston he is only 6'0" with o.k. speed. Yet, the rest that are coming, oh wow...I have been waiting for butch lewis to visit (6'6", 280, 4.85)...at first, I thought it would might be easy to sweep him away from CU, but he is not even interested CU...he is interested in ND, & getting him away from the media darling is going to be quite daunting; if not slightly impossible - since he loved the trip to ND. the good news is that j. brown & t. turner (6'3", 180, 4.5) are coming with their families (brown likes blake, & I like our chances of getting turner - since UN is up against the meeker traditions of az, ia, gt, ks, & mn. the ou weekend will give the las vegas lads a chance to verbel - paulo & smith, & along with mill. north's young. t. pflueger 6'1", 175, 4.4 (similar in size & speed to defrand) (UN has shown him a lot of attention - I wonder if UN will offer him sometime after the weekend). hensel tore his acl, this year, & has verbel to Utah as of a week ago.
  4. Hello, from what I have read kenny wilson has been given a scholarship by the UN coaches (rivals),...& I know that everything that I read is not always absolute &, that scholarship offers can materialize into nothing (see hayo carpenter, fenuki tupou, etc...coaches & players interest may wane... Yet, I think that this scholarship is more than just for two parties to keep in contact...I think that he will visit (KSU or after sometime) & may verbel... Also, I think that cobb has been dragging his heels in regards to UN...he seems to want to stay in Texas & play for UT (if offered which he is hoping for), or play with his brother if KSU continues to hold schollies for both...& I think that UN is a 3rd & final choice...& if that is his choice then that is his choice, but it may be his least favorite choice of the three (for instances, reese (cobb's teammate & friend) at first cancelled a visit to a UN game (maine), so I feel that the pflugerville kids are not (or were not) amped up to come in the first place. My point is that I believe UN takes a rb, one with experience, one who can cut back & find a lane, or show patiences, which I feel residence within wilson... that is my feeling...you can do this if you wish...
  5. Hello, I am amazed...I have been searching for sometime on the internet, & have talked with some individuals who I thought might be in the know, & I have found nothing in regards to UM's visitors for their game with UN. To date, this is UM biggest game of the year - their stadium could-should be sold out, & their fans should be a loud & motley bunch, & in the end, they could beat UN, &... UM does not have a single recruit coming in for this game...if this is true pinkel is abnormally slow-witted... according to one source they have had 0 officials & a few unofficials...if this is true pinkel is truly asinine (out of their 8 verbels - 6 verbelled before their first game, & 2 are from columbia, mo, & 2 are ***)... As for (the visiting team) UN, they will have freeman (of course), clayborn & j. brown are supposed to be there, & possibly mcneill, & maybe williams... So, what does the scoreboard read for recruits: 2 verbels are coming to this game & are N, 1 high on UN, 1 high on Blake, & 1 watching UN a lot harder than he will be watching UM.
  6. Hello, so that is the reason why I & everyone else has not seen any stats on derrick russell, it is because of disciplinary reasons...& this kid is still going to be given a D1 scholarship...& let alone the fact that he only-truly has one year of starting or even playing high school football under his belt...& that merits a scholarship to KSU...his 40 time is 4.67, which is good-ok for D1 wr's...his routes & hands are so-so for D1 wr's... Yes, he and bullock have scholarship offers, but they have not been asked to visit one of KSU game as of yet... I guess, with discipline problems russell probable will not even be asked to walk-on at UN... As for bullock I like him, (saw him last year) he is aggressive, has good hands, & has become a go-to-guy, who has a lot of catches & yards this year...but, his 40 time is 4.69, which is so-so for D1 wr, and he is only 6'0", which doesn't fit the mold of the new UN wr...yet, I hope he walks on...his father played at UN...plus, I could see him as a pilkington-type wr, who can pick up big first downs in a few years...maybe. Also, as for tarpinian, downing has been at millard north, quite a bit (gossip I know but I heard three times in the last couple of weeks) to talk with young, & I wonder if he has talked to tarpinian? - I know that tarpinian has been solid on his verbal to Iowa, and that he camped at Iowa over the summer, so there has been an interest there for a while...yet if UN begins to take notice, who knows?
  7. Hello, one thing that troubles me is that possibly (or more so probably), in two years, KSU will start at: qb - allan evridge (papio-lavista), who might drop back to pass against the blackshirts, & look toward his receiving corp of: te - nate prater (omaha central), wr - derrick russell (lincoln north star), wr - tyler bullock (lincoln north star), while being protected by: rt - brad rooker (millard north), who's currently #2 at rt, lg - derek meyer (campbell), who's currently #2 at lg. (& KSU's defense will have mitch straub (waterloo), & mccardle (mill north) on it)
  8. Player: Kenny Wilson Hometown: Liberal, KS Position: RB Height: 6’0” Weight: 215 40 time: 4.4 Visit Date: 11/12/05 Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Florida Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: JUCO #5/ Bid Red Report:NR Assessing the talent: Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 50% Hello, the road to el dorado, the legendary road of S. Amer. that was supposed to lead to gold & opportunity, may lead another to memorial stadium: kenny wilson **** (6-0, 215, 4.4) of el dorado, butler county comm. college has been given a scholarship to play for UN in '06. His invitation to join UN will give UN an experienced, aggressive & quick back for its back field, which may mean a little less pressure on the young backfield, but a few less carries, also. There is a great chance that he lands with UN, since there is a comfort zone with former team mates - tomerlin, hardy, & taylor - and his coach has been a bug in his ear for him to follow the others. Also, if wilson comes than jackson will most likely stay at safety. (In '06, we should get two more players from butler co. comm. in franklin & hunter).
  9. Hello, they are all going to comment on their commitments, where their comments of their choice of university - being UN of course - will be processed via print, television, and internet, & read by all - yet more importantly the fine group who is associated here. Another thing I would like to comment on would be bowens, since I have read that he is so-so on even coming for a visit, which probably does not impress the UN coaches - therefore, hancock all the way. Also, I do not feel that culbert (some with ross) will sign with UN he is looking for playing time as a freshman, and that will not happen with all the cb coming back, plus jones coming in. Also, I forgot about davis if he commits before mouton UN will most likely lose mouton to Michigan, and if mouton commits before davis then davis is VT bound. that is my two cents, and sorry for the previous infraction - comment/commit - I will most likely hari-kari in the morning.
  10. Hello, here is my two cents: freeman ****, cobb ***, holt ***, bowens ***, purify ****, reese ***, mcneill ***, campbell ****, dorrestein ***, henry ***, jones ****, williams **, johnson ***, clayborn ****, deas ****, jensen ***, davis ****, smith ***, paulo **, allen ***, young **, jones *****, mouton ****, thenarse ****. cobb & reese will comment after their final high school game in 2-4 weeks. purify will comment soon, and bowens will comment during OU visit, which will cause UN to renign hancock's offer - therefore, their qb, rb, & wr positions will be filled (eloi *** walks on in jan., & bullock ** & irving ** may walk on as well)(I am hoping for a bullock gs) mcneill will be the lone te (herian will be back, & tomerlin healthy, & all of the rest of the te's that were used this year are back - mueller, phillips, & sievers) - mcneill will rs, & UN will takes 2 te's in 2006 (mohr ** from genoa will walk on). dorrestein comments during OU visit, williams comments on visit whenever he visits, campbell will comment late or after hs season, & jones & henry are N (adams will comment to UK)( bunner ** walks on or gs's). johnson & jensen & davis are N for the front line, followed by clayborn who will comment soon, & smith who comments during OU visit, & deas who will comment during KSU visit (martin ** from lin. sw might walk on, & will get a schollie within a yr). allen is N, & will play alot next year, & paulo will comment & will rs next yr (poe will comment to Louisville, which is closer, & has less of a log jam at lb)(makovicka ** will walk on at lb, - but ISU is after him, because of his 182 ypg rushing)(franck from seward may be asked to walk on & could be the next ickes). jones is N (he will be UN's only *****), & young will comment this week. mouton & thenarse will comment after their high school seasons is over. (henery ** from omaha burke will walk on at p, where he is averaging 41.7 ypp) walk-ons: UN walk-ons may be rated higher (with six ** & one ***)than most of their competition's classes.
  11. Hello, again. Do not get me wrong, because I am not writing to picking on Russell, because he may very well be a good college player, but to began the year on a scout recruiting page they gave Russell ***, and now he is a **, and if his #'s do not increase than he may end as a *, which is not bad since the great majority of high school football players are no *'s. Again, I am not picking on him, but I do not think that KSU will give him a scholarship in the end, and yes, I know that they have offered, but they can (& I believe will) renign. In the end, I believe he walks on at UN, because KSU (again, I believe) has to give their scholarships to immediate talent, and not on raw talent. Someone above said that UN missed out on Jon Davis, and that they would hate to see UN miss out on Bullock or Russell, but Davis at the time did not met the standard of UN WR's, because coming out of high school Davis was not strong enough or physical enough, and he seemed to lack the desire to block, therefore he did not met the standard of a UN receiver (at that time, of course). Yet, I do think that the present staff (in hindsight of course), would have given Davis a late scholarship, since in high school he ran good routes, had good hands, descent speed, 6'-5" height, and (presently) meets their wr needs. But, the difference between Davis & Russell is simply in technic, and the simple difference between Davis & Bullock is height.
  12. Hello, have two cents that I would wish to share regarding the subject of Russell & Bullock, who both play for Lincoln North Star: Bullock, as far as I can see has shown the ability to play well, and has the potential to be a very good receiver if given the proper coaching, which could or should happen in the package of the current receivers coach of UN, who has shown the abilitly to teach clean & proper routes to his receiving core. Bullock (6-1, 184, 4.6) has great hands, far better than Russell's, and runs better routes, and is more aggressive, and is without a doubt their go to player, who has shown the ability to break big runs and catch big passes with the game on the line. Russell in my mind has yet to show the ability to become anything special when it comes to receiving, and for him to be the one mentioned to receive a scholarship over Bullock is a shocker. Russell (6-4, 183, 4.6) simply has a long body - more of a receiver's built - but lacks on many other attributes of receiving. Russell is not football or mentally strong, and runs below average to ok routes. Lincoln North Star vs. North Platte: Bullock 7 catches for 174 yards (Lincoln North Star qb stats 11 out of 19 pass attempts for 242 yards). Russell not listed (Nathan Enderle for North Platte was 17 out of 29 pass attempts for 242 yards)
