It's completely asinine.

I am not buying or selling on a Governor speaking at a Public University press conference.  I would prefer politicians to stay out of sports all together, but unfortunately in this day and age everything becomes political. We saw this last week with some Husker fans blaming the Governor for Alberts leaving.  

I wish Dannen, Rhule and all Husker coaches and fans great success in the coming years!

I agree.  Trev still thinks he is a part of the Nebraska club.  Does he realize how much he is now hated by most Nebraska fans?  He is seriously tone deaf.

Agree. I am sure the coaches and players feel betrayed and abandoned.  It sounds like this is how Trev deals with conflict and challenges...he just quits.  The same happened at ESPN back in 2005.

Rhule is a competitive guy and likely feels betrayed by Alberts, especially if its true that Rhule is out of the country now. I look for Rhule to use this betrayal as personal ammo to fire up the football team.

I think this is a good option. I would also look to one of the 3 ACC schools that voted against conference expansion like Bubba Cunningham from UNC or Mike Alford at FSU.

Good on Rhule. Trev leaving has lessened my opinion of him dramatically. 

This is a major shock but I agree with the sentiment that there are internal issues. Losing Carter and Alberts in the same year is not a coincidence.

After Frost's fourth season I wanted him fired and for Nebraska to go after Deboer. Its crazy how quickly things have moved for him since leaving Fresno State.

Thanks Mavric for the info.  I agree ZRod we need more depth at RB.  Who is in the transfer portal that we could go after?

I am curious if we have any new RBs coming in next year.  I have not paid close attention to that position and did not see any 2024 commits at the RB positions.

If DR is as good as advertised, he will go pro after his sophomore year and then DK can take over as a sophomore after he redshirts.

Let me get this straight. Both Ohio State and Georgia are literally one play away from making the CFP, and because that did not happen, they are both leaving the schools they committed to and are considering Nebraska.  If Rhule can pull this off I will take away my late season criticisms of him...at least until we lose our next game.

I agree. As we saw this past season, if you do not pick the right portal QB it has a ripple effect on the full team. Rhule needs to get it right and find a strong backup in the process.
