  1. I guess face the facts, we just don't have a good part to this team we can depend on. NO offense, NO special teams, and our defense is holding us together for now.........for now!
  2. Worst punt of the year, at the worst possible time, imagine that!
  3. I am not impressed with Casey tonight either. We brought in Chubba now two games in a row near the goaline, but don't really give him a chance to do anything. I think with a mobile QB this game would have been over two possessions ago.
  4. Whipple has complicated this game from the start tonight. Keep running and throwing those short passes. Can't help himself from downfield passing.
  5. I agree. 4th and 1 run the ball either Yant or Grant. This game is going to cost Mickey any chance he might have had to be the man. Mickey knows better than to allow a pass on 4th and short............A head coach takes control in that situation.
  6. With the Wisky job coming open, this plays a bigger part in our coach search. Will they stick with Leanard or will they go get Aranda? How many more jobs are coming open soon? Texas A@M? n I think we have a narrower window with those supposed Power 5 level coaches when more P-5 jobs keep coming open. That Texas A@M gig would make most coaches salivate having the #1 recruiting class and others. I am not knocking Nebraska's job, but saying that I think Wisky is on even grounds, and I think that A@M is above. How many other jobs will come open that are even to us and that are above us is the question going forward.
  7. Don't want to rain on the parade, but wasn't Indiana missing like the best two weapons on offense last night? They don't have an explosive offense anyway, but missing two key receivers will make a huge difference in how this game was played. We won, kudos to Mickey for getting some things figured out that were pretty darn simple. Like lining up right......tackling......taking what the defense is giving us on O............ My biggest concern going forward is our O-line, followed by our D line. WE looked so much better last night, but Indiana is hardly a juggernaut on offense. They are fast paced, and average like 4 yards per play. With that being said, other than Ohio ST, I think the Big 10 is very weak and i think most games will be winable from here out.
  8. I really wish this team didnt play next Friday at Rutgers. This will be a short week, but a really good week for the program for a change.. If we win on Friday in Rutgers, we will have some momentum!
  9. In other news, Big Ten football this season is a mess. If not for Michigan, Ohio St and Penn ST, this conference would be a joke right now. Wisky is the next job opening...........
  10. All Whipple is doing is auditioning for another job next season some where else. That is all this is about.
  11. Whipple is not calling a very smart game. Now it appears the Casey is hurt because Whipple can not stop himself from chucking the ball all over the field. Terrible play calling. Run the damn ball at let your D rest for a few seconds at least!
  12. The offense lets down this team as much as the defense does.
  13. I will ask ths " If Frost would have made a bowl game (6-6) would he have been retained? I think the same question could be asked of Mickey, Maybe? I would like to assume that with a bowl game, Mickey would at least have serious consideration. But it also depends on how that looks. Is that 5 wins against Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, and Rutgers? Or is that wins against Wisky, Iowa, Minny and Michigan and one of the others? I can see a scenario where we keep getting better but don't win games against worse team early on, and beat the heavy hitters on our back end of the schedule. I guess if your a Mickey fan your wanting us to beat Iowa and Wisky for sure and winning against the weaker competition along the way. I don't know what teams are good and which are truly awful at this point........I thought Wisky was better than what they have shown, I thought Rutgers was better.....Now I think that the west will come down to Iowa and MInny
  14. Palmer has had some drops and a fumble this season, no one is perfect. Warner is nothing but the security blanket when everyone else is covered. KSU actaully uses him in the right manner. He is not a game changer, just a possession receiver, chain mover. Brody Belt before Brody Belt. Oh, the Tulane loss is not nearly as bad as getting beat at home by GA South allowing 45 points . If we want to keep pointing out that Amart lost to Tulane, then lets not forget we got beat by friggin GEORGIA SOUTHERN. Southern Ilinois, Miami of Ohio have all beaten NW. NW may not win another game all season, but there one win was against US! I am not on here to really pick on any one person. However, the abuse that Amart took from this fan base during his tenure here was sometimes brutal and then seeing tonight that we can't give this KID the credit he deserves for being a competitor, warrior, and a baller is really insightful. Remember that most of these players are still young adults and even teenagers still, they need leadership as well. It is so obvious after tonight that Frost had nothing to offer this program that was positive. Amart was a good player here, that had no help from his coaching staff. Was mostly set up to fail.
  15. Pretty much hit the nail on the head with this quote. I personally think that most of the team has thrown in the towel in this season. I don't know how we will ever make an honest judgment on how good of a coach Mickey is or could have been. I guess with having said that , if Mick can get this team to win 3 or 4 games this season that might speak even louder for him. Indiana is not good. Purdon't is not that good. Iowa has a good defense, but still limited on O. Rutgers I thought was better, but they might not be very whippy either. Illinois is not good, but has a solid D with some decent RB play. Wisky is not good either( how long before they move on from Chryst) Michigan will run all over us, and Minny might put up 70 on us. West division is pretty much awful. If we can't win 3 -4 games against that then no one deserves to stay here. Hate to say that, but I think that should be the way it is. I wonder how much talent is on this roster(developed talent)? I wonder how much you can improve players during the season? Sound like we wasted all of spring and summer practices doing nothing for developing these guys, seems hard to think we can improve them in 8 games.
  16. Klieman and or Leipold are really good coaches that the fan base would boycott if announced as our next HC. Some obvious facts about some of these guys. Matt Rhule rebuilt Baylor before Aranda came on board. Aranda is doing a fine job, but he didn't inherit a mess. Klieman inherited a pretty solid program from Snyder, but has beaten OU 3 out of the last 4 years...........3-1 against OU. Leipold inherited the worst P-5 program in the country and even if they don't win another game this season, he has done a really good job. 4-0 Again, if they don't win another game, he is still a great coach. I believe that either of these coaches would be great gets, but they are not sexy hires and might not win 9 games in there first season here, but they will rebuild our lost culture and start to develop our players once again. I am not against Aranda, but he didn't remake Baylor or rebuild Baylor. He actually inherited a pretty good program. If Texas keeps losing, whose there next HC? Aranda? Meyer? Something to keep an eye on going forward.............
  17. Again, where would we have been without him at all last season? I don't know if we beat NW or Buffalo or Furman without him last year........? We couldn't beat Georgia South and NW without him this season.............wasn't even competitive against OU with out him? I think we might find out we were way better with him than without him.........
  18. In some of those games where Adrian made mistakes, how many plays did he make to keep us in the game? If we are going to point out all of his failures, at least point out when he kept us in games for him to make a mistake and lose the game. I don't think he ever lost a game for us. Our teams lost alot of those games with him as our starting QB.
  19. It just surprising to see so many that can't give a KID some credit for having a great game. As Mickey has said, no one player, coach or insert here, is bigger than the program. Adrian wasn't bigger than this program, but sure gets his share of blame for what the program did. I hate to think what our record the last few years would have been without him. Again, if we had Adrian this season, I believe we are sitting here right now 3-1. That is no knock on Casey. Style of play is a big difference. Adrian just won't sit in the pocket and take a beating. Honestly, outside of maybe two throws all season, Casey hasn't made any plays that Adrian would not have also made. Stupid comments for me to make when you will never know for sure, just my observations so far this season. We are not a better team without Adrian and I don't think we are worse team with Casey as well. Casey is limited in running and personally won't run in fear of getting whacked.
  20. Stupid comments lead to even dumber ones. Where would have we been without Adrian against Michigan last season? yeah his one fumble cost us something, but I think without him we are not in the game even. He had turnover issues, but some of that was in play calling. Looking back on our seasons with Amart, we were pretty obvious in our plays. Most of us could call the next play that Frost would run......he was like an open book. Predictable. I am doing nothing but wishing him the best for this season. To even further that, this also digs in the claws a little bit more on Frost.
  21. I find this thread completely funny. Adrian never beat a Top 10 team on the road here. He never had the chance to do things like he did tonight. Football is greater than one dude, so last week wasn't only him that laid an egg...........just like he didn't lose 29 games for us by himself..........Smothers had how many turnovers and mistakes against Iowa last season..........yeah. Nebraska fans who are reared has the best fans in the world, I wonder sometimes if that is actually true......some act like worst ever. Realizing that Frost was a complete fool is much easier than blaming Amart for our losses, because clearly, when he is coached better, he plays alot better and his team wins!
