  1. I never said I didn't like coaches yelling. It's just he has this monster face he uses. As I said earlier, I find it embarrasing. Yelling to be heard, and raging are two different things. But hey, that's just my opinion. I understand the levels of noise and the urgency to get a point across. How about you stop deciding what is or isn't my sport and discuss the topic. He's not deciding what your sport is... He's stating the obvious... if you ever strapped on a chin strap, you would understand what he's saying.. you just don't like Bo's facial expressions.. it just how intense he looks when he does it that bothers you... it obviously doesn't bother the players.. This BS started with poking TM in the chest for breaking team rules during a game.... Bo addresses a problem when it comes to his attention, and he doens't care what you think. he's running the team his way, it's his job to keep or lose.. who are you to say you don't like his facial expressions.... I agree with him... you are just a band member that has never suited up.. you want to be handled with kid gloves and would walk off the practice field before you even had a chance to play because your feeling got hurt... Grow up.. it's the media that sheds the ugle light on Bo.. he hasn't (at least in my memory) used profanity laced rants during games, like Iowa's coach caught on video using more than one that I wouldn't want underage kids seeing.... grow some and get a life..... Instead of attacking me, (you don't even know who I am) and telling me to grow up, I'll point a finger at who needs to stop attacking the poster and discuss the topics in an adult fashion. You have no idea what I've done my whole life. Yet you've judged all that I've done based on a posting in a forum . So I'll ask again with a shorter sentence: What did they change to play so much better? (I understand Bo's face when he yells. I was making a wrong assumption of him raging. My mistake and I apologize profusely for my misunderstanding)
  2. Me too actually. I think they (coaching staff) are very close to a good combination of direction and choice of players. I'm basing all this on the disposition of the team. I hope like Hell they look this good when they start back up. I was yelling to encourage them instead of yelling at them in discouragement.

So the point of the thread is u don't like his face or their is a set amount of passion coaches are allowed to use to coach with. Nothing to see here. There was no set point to my discussion thread. I've enjoyed all the talk in here. I've seen some points of view that my stubborn ass didnt' want to see, but eventually did. I never said anything about limit of passion. Not sure where you even grabbed that from. But if that is your contribution to the chat, then I welcome it. If that's what the guy looks like when he yells, then I'm all about it. My world is one sided until someone grabs my head and points me to a different view. Yeah...that bull headed.
  4. I totally understand my perception of what I see. I'm basing my idea of what he says based on his history of what I've heard him say. I could be completely wrong. I'll admit that. I'm NOT SAYING to stop yelling at players...I'm not sure where I actually said that in the thread....A lot of assumptions are being made. I'm talking about his raging. Does he make that face to yell? If so, then fine. I interpret that as losing his temper. So..to discuss the preparation: When do they actually start practice for the season? Spring practice? That is almost 8 months without a game to be ready for a specific purpose. What did they change?

Not sure how to respond to the intelligence here... Was this what they did different to prep for the game? Or is this what he says to his players?..... Thanks for contributing to the topic discussion!
  6. Well, to be fair--it isn't really a debate on the sideline. If Bo wants to walk off after hollering at a player, he can. What he says is final. I met Bo last year in the locker room and he was walking around like a normal person, the countenance on his face was twisted and stern. He approached my brothers and I and chatted for a few seconds he was nice and smiling. Then we posed for a couple pictures and sure enough his face is just dead panned and glum in each one. It's just Bo's face, stern and kinda glum if he's not smiling. Don't judge a raging nose by its cover. You have ZERO idea what he's saying to his players out there and how he's saying it and why. That is a good point. I don't know him. I'm just making a dumb assumption based on what he does in public. But it's what I do. *falls over*

  8. Wouldn't that be reflection of your coaching skills?
  9. I honestly think he was worried for his job. His smile, to me (just my opinion) seemed much more than a win..it looked like a relief that he keeps his job. Just wait until he gets comfortable again, he'll be the raging nose as always.
  10. What we did different to prep for the bowl game? We should've looked that good ALL season. There was minimal gawking at the 3 monkeys on the sidelines...We looked confident and focused. We actually aggressively tackled. Two thoughts: (1) Was the pressure on the Raging Nose's position enough that he made sure they were ready? (2)Bo really needs to stop publicly raging in player's faces. I understand things don't go right and you have to get a player's attention, but he doesn't yell; he rages. it's embarrasing to watch: Stare down the player until he gets close, then his face contorts into his rage face, Step up into the player's grill, then he blasts away, turning when HE is done. Doesn't even give the player time to respond. I know if I were looking for a place to go play ball, I'd give second thoughts to a coach that has an uncontrolled temper. Grats to the players for an amazing ball game!
  11. The boosters are probably just happy that so many people are sitting at the games now and that makes for a more enjoyable experience for them. While this is currently true, if the trend of losing, playing bad, inconsistent performance continues and people stop showing up; what then? It's a business. It's all about revenue. I heard that the waiting time for season tickets is disappearing...Nothing to confirm this. I am a fan, but I'm not sure I want to go watch 3 monkeys throwing hand signals to confused players, a ranting coach, who takes shots at officials (bad calls or not) when I can stay home and flip to other games on cable. I'm sure I'm not the only one. A disappointed fan base = lost revenue. It starts hitting them in the checkbook, then I think they'll take a serious look at what needs to happen. Guess what? Stay home then! Somebody else will gladly buy you tickets. Hopefully somebody that will support coaches and players instead of hinder the program! No need to be angry. Not addressing you personally. Just throwing my opinions out there; that's what this forum says you can do. So let me ask you this: You don't think the Raging Nose and his band of hand signal monkeys aren't hindering our program? If they were playing better, with good, solid execution, loss or win, would we even be discussing this? My gf works has worked for the university for 34+ years. We are season ticket holders. I don't mind watching a loss or a win. I stay the whole game, but I'd be much happier if we just looked GOOD even if we lost. We don't.
  12. Not going to happen. They show little improvement with tackling, direction, and playing confidence. Now Bo has a contract, you think he's worried about making a huge difference? I don't. He's got cash in the pocket now. If they can't improve their last 4 or 5 games...please explain how they will improve next year. You can't. Take off your fanboi glasses and look at all the talent we have then watch them them go to the field and the WHOLE team stare at the sidelines watching the 3 monkies because they don't know what to do. No one is making a personal attack on you. Because they don't agree that next year we will be champs doesn't make them less of a fan. They see a problem that needs addressed.
