  1. My sentiments exactly. And while the following is kind of a political thing it speaks to the state of admin and governance that exists when such activity is allowed to fester unabated. If this is true then stick a fork in Husker football and we deserve to dwell in the bottom of the BIG10. "A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague." If this poster's OP statement is true, he's on the inside and why would he feel the need to come here and post THAT! This was and is a multiple year project when Frost came in the door and when we turn the corner it will be lightning in a bottle, could be this year. Lot more to said but I'll leave it there.
  2. Honestly not looking for an argument, don't have the time, but you keep believing that. The "Woke" droner class is asleep.....wait, make that a coma. Sleep on, dear people, sleep on. I am I is spot on.
  3. I find it noteworthy or at least interesting that you feel the need to explain yourself. (I just erased about 3 paragraphs of my comment, LOL) You're just going to have to do what you feel is ok to do. Just do you and be responsible as you can.. I don't believe you have to fight for your freedom or your rights......yet, nor do you need to explain yourself.
  4. What do you think, it's a subject worth discussing. Maybe half capacity, maybe less, maybe more. I know this, Covid19 will be waiting for you and I when we decide to come out and work or play. It's not going away. In fact the flattening of the curve has prolonged the inevitable and I'm not saying we shouldn't have done everything possible to flatten the curve. The odds are very high, in the near term, that many, if not most, people will contract this virus sooner or later and they will make it thru or they won't. The current data says most people will be ok and I am not downplaying those that didn't make it or won't make it. I would suggest people start, if they haven't already, to do anything and everything they can to build up their immune system and their personal health. That is the first and best line of defense.
  5. That's rather presumptive of you. I'm all for having a conversation with as much pros and cons on the subject as possible, combined with the relevant data, to be able to make an informed decision. Your following sentence makes the bolded, classic projection, as it is a "hand wave away" of a discussion because you don't agree with the comment....and you'd be welcome for the "laughs" if the situation was laughable.
  6. That's as solid of a perspective as I've read on this board of late and basically sums up my take on this current state of Husker football. When the break from the current state of losing happens it is going to be from one season to the next, here's to it being in 2020!
  7. Hey Branno, I've read some of the discussion on here and have wanted to comment but have resisted the urge to do so but I'm just curious and you may not want to answer my question but.....are you able to work from home and continue to draw a paycheck, make a living? Forget about the "Will we play football this season?" question. If you are waiting on a vaccine, a true, legitimate vaccine that has gone thru all the protocols, the levels of development, testing and studies, etc, you may never come out of your house or do anything, ie, work, shop, vacation, or play, etc, in a normal manner ever again cause it is quite possible they will not be able to come up with one. Have never had a successful HIV vaccine, it is treated with antivirals and such and some of these other viruses, ie, SARS, MERS, ZIKA, still do not have definite successful vaccines to combat them. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7115365/) Not sure how to post links here and not necessarily interested in finding out but that is a very interesting read. Suffice it to say this, the initial concern for our health and safety was legitimate and there is still a need to proceed cautiously but the numbers do not bear out bringing us to our collective knees economically or otherwise, they are just not there. Protect the vulnerable, ie, our elderly and those with underlying conditions and get on with living. Ignore the MSM Fear Porn and know that if we don't get going, and very quickly, we will emerge from this in a very different world and it will not be because of the CoVid19 virus........rather our reaction to it. Oh btw, I believe we will have a football season! If I'm wrong it will not be the first time
  8. This is my favorite GIF for moments like this. Welcome Greene!!!!! GooooBIGFnReeeeeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Were you in California when you met these "Nebraskans"? Maybe they left their Nebraskan manners behind and adopted California manners and personalities.
  10. Maybe I am misreading some of these posts by Huckleberry and others of similar opinions but I don't believe I am. They do not share the same feeling as you in not wanting anybody else to be their head coach next year (and they can't make the statements they've been making and say they do, even for next year, although they know he will be) and they are entitled to that feeling, thought or opinion. As for your comments concerning Scott Frosts record it is what it is, there is no changing that and it isn't pretty, it is forever set in stone. But that's not what we are talking about is it. We are talking about what people think and feel and what their opinions are concerning the results/facts and where we are at in this present moment and again everyone is entitled to theirs. When people began to make definitive statements that they "feel" and "think" that we will never improve beyond where we're at with said coach because he has no idea what he is doing, will not get it done in the BIG Ten because..., is too stubborn or arrogant to make changes needed, etc, etc, etc, etc.......and therefor we need to move on to the next coach, that wreaks of arrogance and ego to me and YES that is my opinion and has nothing to do with getting in front of the facts. It may be a minority on this board but it is here and that is what I am responding to and yes that is how I feel about it. Have you even been reading some of the s@!t on here. Have a nice night DaysGoneBy.
  11. I believe it was last year someone posted a video of a couple of Michigan guys who were breaking down Frost's schemes and, iirc, were pissed off that, according to them, they were going to have to deal with Frost's schemes more than Ohio St as we would be on their schedule more than we were on Ohio St's schedule from year to yea(seems the opposite at this point). Their conclusion was that Frost's scheme was going to be particularly hard to deal with. Now unlike some, or many, I believe we have the talent, not the best but we have good talent, some really good. The only thing is they haven't been in this scheme for 3 to 4 years, the main thing being the OL. The juniors, soph, rs fresh have only been in it 2 years, some playing as has been noted out of position, ie, Forniak, out of necessity. Some skill position players can come in and catch on right away, some can't. Give this 3 to 4 years and it will be hard for younger guys to come in and start because the juniors and seniors will be well versed in the scheme and I believe we will start seeing our expectations fulfilled. I am mostly speaking to the OL situation and that is where the game is won or lost. Expect to see sort of the same thing on the defensive side of the ball. When the offense gets rolling I suspect Chins will start dialing up a lot more pressure not that he shouldn't have been doing that already.
  12. Well good luck my friend. I just spent too long responding to your post (had some other things going on) to find out I had been logged out when I hit the submit button and it didn't save my post. Just real quick, I was old enough to know how significant it was to win our first back to back championships and experienced all of the disappointment between those and the 3 in 4. If we'd have had replay in '93 it would have been 4 in 5 and the first 3-peat in the modern era and most likely would have had one in '83 and as for '84 what can we say. It just seems to me you have decided rather quickly upon wether Frost can get it done or not, maybe you need to reread your post. Scott Frost has been a winner everywhere he's been and odds are he will do so again. Time will tell all things it would be a shame to short change it. The only one pinning anything on Frost is you, a medal of failure. What I read is "I feel", "I think" and, to be sure, we are all entitled to our opinion. To be candid your posts and others of similar opinion wreak of arrogance and ego but maybe time will show you to be right. As of now I highly doubt it. There, that's the short version.
  13. I said it once and i'll keep saying it "consistency, consistency thou art a jewel"; and I don't care what this millennial, X, Y, Z whatever generation thinks and that is "I want it all and I want it now"!; would love it to be so but it's not reality. In fact that is a recipe for perpetual football purgatory. Iowa will probably never be what we were and what we are striving to get back to but they are a decent football program and have had some good years because they knew their best opportunity for success was to stay the course once set and therefor their players are playing in the same system for 4 to 5 years and don't think they haven't had to make adjustments as experience dictated. Scott is a winner, has always been a winner, winners win and odds are he is exactly what we thought he was when we hired him, a winner. STAY THE COURSE!!!!
  14. Who else would he be talking about? He's been committed to us for quite awhile and getting ready to sign here in a few days. Hey Tamon most of us are with and for you. Come here and kick some freaking a$$!
