  1. If you're talking social/fun activities then not a damn thing, which was the point of the entire thread to begin with. I was unaware that Mississippi is such a hotbed of talent, but I stand corrected.
  2. It's actually ten wins a season just as much as it is 9. Are we still crying about how hard it is to be Nebraska if we win 11 or 12? Shut up. What you hussin 'bout? Nothing. Shut up wasn't directed toward you.....you're my homeboy. More directed to the boo hoo crowd who will continue to claim Nebraska is at some disadvantage or just isn't capable of competing with these other programs. Of course, til' we win 12 games and then they just kind of shut up and fade away. Win games, cures all. Nebraska is an elite program and theres no reason we shouldn't be in the conversation every year. We are getting closer I think. This staff is coming around. Of course, instead of just admitting that we hired a first time head coach and his inexperienced buddies, we'd rather come up with the vast amount of excuses that have poured out of this fan base the last seven years or more. We thought this thing was gonna turn around quick. We were wrong. When you think about it, why would it have righted quick? I see progress though. That's the first I've seen in awhile. We just gotta keep getting better and stop with the excuses for Gods sake. Thank you for saying what I've been trying to say.
  3. Who are you saying is content with 9 wins? That's the feeling I get from a lot of people on this board. They say that top recruits won't come to play here, and top coaches won't come to coach here. I was even ridiculed for telling coaches about a great player at my school when he was in 8th grade, trying to give the coaches a head start.
  4. I say that it DOES play a factor, based on available talent in the area. But to say kids won't come bc of weather or lack of activities is crap. Recruiting these days is a lot different than it was during Osborne's tenure.
  5. Garbage eh? That period of ten years that you're describing included three top 10 finishes, SEC championships and BCS bowls. You mean to tell me that our classes would? You're discrediting people for opinions and then making outlandish statements that are founded completely in conjecture without any actual evidence or support to your claims. Again. You create a thread blasting people for having the opinion that location matters a lot in college football recruiting, which, I might add, has been visually proven right before your very eyes, yet you continue to deny it, and then you make an even more absurd claim to opinion such as the above, without any supporting evidence at all. Everything I've said has gone right over your head. My point for this thread was to show that saying that kids don't come to Lincoln, simply because of the weather or the notion that there's nothing to do there, is false. Kids will go wherever there's a proven winning coach. That's my opinion and sticking with it. As far as talent goes, yes there's much more talent in the south, I agree. Still, I believe that with an established championship-winning HC, those players would come to Lincoln. This isn't the 70s or 80s or 90s anymore. And as far as Bama's program goes, it was in the gutter when Saban arrived. Shula, and even Franchione and DuBose, were not very successful there, at least not by Alabama standards. LSU was nothing but an average program before Saban came.
  6. You've been plainly shown multiple times why your comparison to Nebraska and the two Mississippi schools' programs is not an accurate one. The point you're making above is clear, but your original post didn't really make any sense. That's because my OP is based on what I've heard from OTHER Nebraska fans over the years. That isn't my own opinion.Well, they're wrong too. If they paid attention and listened to what recruits say about Nebraska, it would clarify things for them. But, I'd be shocked if any of them would understand anyhow. My entire point, exactly. However, I stand by my belief that kids will go to play for an established coach, no matter where the school is located.
  7. I just don't understand how people can deny it. If Bill Cowher came to Lincoln to coach, you mean to tell me that our recruiting classes wouldn't be any better? Come on.
  8. And there is a big reason why none of those coaches are at Nebraska. Urb has said that he would have ni interest in this job. I understand that. My point is that if one of those elite coaches DID come to Lincoln, the top recruits WOULD come.
  9. You've been plainly shown multiple times why your comparison to Nebraska and the two Mississippi schools' programs is not an accurate one. The point you're making above is clear, but your original post didn't really make any sense. That's because my OP is based on what I've heard from OTHER Nebraska fans over the years. That isn't my own opinion.
  10. I don't understand the butthurt here. People are just pointing out that you are wrong. Where a School is located matters. If that hasn't been proven to you in this thread, then either you're not paying attention or choose to close your eyes to reality. Not sure what "butthurt" you're referring to. Why this thread seemed to put sand in so many people's vaginas is beyond me.Well, you're wrong. So why don't you admit it and move on. This whole thread is totes stupid. So you mean to tell me that if Nick Saban came to coach at Nebraska that our recruiting classes wouldn't be Top 5 year in year out??
  11. They played football in Alabama before Nick Saban arrived. And they did it quite well too. Some guy with an animals name........ ummm Bear something coached there. Nicky boy didn't bring a football to Bama and teach those boys down south a new sport. Stop acting like what Nick Saban did for Alabama is the same thing Bill Snyder did at KSU. Come on now. From the mid 90s until Saban arrived, that program was garbage. Saban resurrected it, whether you care to admit it or not, just like he did at LSU.
  12. I stand by my theory that if someone like Meyer or Saban or Tressel or the like came to coach at Nebraska, the players would flock to Nebraska. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
  13. So take some ownership in your statements or leave it alone. Im not saying this to you im saying it for a friend.I take complete ownership. My belief is that geographical location does not matter, if you have a coach that kids want to play for. I'm entitled to my opinion. I may not agree with everyone else's opinions, but I respect them all. Others want to hurl insults and act like juveniles. In the end, we are all Husker fans who all have the same vision. Why some Husker fans want to argue with others is something I'll never comprehend.
