  1. We went to the Rose Bowl and crapped our pants...then we fired 3 coaches and made a conscious decision each time to send the program into the toilet. That is what hasn't been the same. We threw away the history and tradition of the program. Moved away from everything that led to our success and this is a different program today. Worse. We need to go back to what made us great. Best strength and conditioning program, top tier facilities, model walk-on program...all of it. That is who we are. Solid running game, and good enough passing game is what made us great.
  2. Isn't that where WE are??? With some breaks, we could make a bowl...honestly. Pelini took us to a bowl every year he was here. Granted he lost 4 and won 3, but WE WENT TO A BOWL. Went 1-1 under Riley. Sucks losing the lesser bowl games, have to be honest. The wins in those games aren't any better, but at least the kids get the experience. Frost has done squat. Zip. Nada. It's been awful. We ARE Indiana. I can't put Purdue in that sentence, because, frankly, they beat us and have some solid wins against great teams this season. Brohm has them moving up. While we plummet into new depths of mediocrity.
  3. Here's how I see it. Bo was firey. I guess some people felt he was too emotional on the sideline and call that "antics." Whatever, that is an opinion and those people are certainly entitled to it. But he was a helluva coach and we were competitive under him, every year. Now we have a total pu&&y on the sideline, but apparently, in some respects, that's a good thing, but in others it isn't. I am confused. I want a coach who shows up to face the music in a post-game press conference and takes the blame. Honestly admits that he sucked. that the team wasn't prepared. Own it. Then, move on. (preferably forward). I don't want my teams football coach to have to be a wuss. I want someone who is outspoken, but willing to take the blame when everything fails. Which, is does almost every Saturday. What I am saying, is we should have kept Bo. Maybe worked with him on some of his rough edges, but Bo is a football guy. I don't know what Frost is, but he isn't that.
  4. Tommy, Turner, Eric??? That's about as good as it gets for us.
  5. My bad. I was referencing our last conference championship game WIN. But sure, we have been beat on a CCG stage a handful of times in the past 20 years...once in the B1G. Once. Since 2012. Once. 70-31... frankly 14 of our points were against their managers and some fans, and maybe a hotdog vendor at Lucas Oil.
  6. I was trying to put a positive spin on it...nothing more.
  7. We have only beaten Wisconsin once since joining the conference and that was one of just 3 one score games. The other games we were boatraced, including one of the worst losses in the only Championship game we have played in what, 20+ years? We shouldn't even mention the CFP until we can start competing in the B1G West, and even then, we need to compete with the East before we should even think about making the playoffs. That is simply fantasy at this point.
  8. to be fair, Indiana has 0 conference wins and Northwestern and Rutgers also have 1. So, not dead last. But maybe we are playing for the first pick in the draft...or something.
  9. Well then. Never mind. I totally stand corrected. Owned really. Thank you for pointing that out.
  10. But if we are offered the Duke's Mayo Bowl for our moral victory total, would our players vote to go to a frat holiday party instead?
  11. Yup. This means everything. Two teams with new coaches going in the right direction. That is what this says (and for only one game, both have done other great things). What is missing is OUR TEAM finishing games, winning when we weren't expected to by anyone but us..."signs of improvement" are fine or whatever, but those are best left for practice and not when tOSU comes to play! We suck.
  12. Another year without a bowl. Meanwhile, a sh*t Wisconsin team clinched their 20th bowl game today. Illinois and Purdue kicked a$$...yet, we are here trying not to criticize, while being critical and (at least I am) being miserable. Out team can't win when it counts. Moral victories, close games, well, they might be more fun to watch and keep our interest, but the outcome is the same. It's been the same for two decades. I am frustrated. we need to win these close games once in a while. I cannot imagine a recruit wanting to come here. I just can't.
  13. But Frost thought his staff were National Champions* ... In my opinion, he might actually think the asterisk is part of winning one. Sorry, but it's true.
  14. So, what I see is Illinois finishes big games and we fold like a table when playing tough teams. WHat changes this? We played hard today, were in it almost to the end. But couldn't get over the hump. Sure, we hung with a mediocre tOSU team (this year, by their standards)...but we couldn't close the deal. We had nothing.
  15. Curious how everyone seems of know this?? Maybe, he thought after winning his "national championship*" at UCF...he had a championship staff and they were all overlooked geniuses...
  16. We were dominant at a time when our program did things differently. We invested in facilities, strength and conditioning, and developed a walk-on program tha twas the envy of the nation. The rest of the country caught up and we didn't evolve. I think it's just that simple. While we sit and talk about how good we used to be...Alabama , Ohio State and others are busy BEING good. We cannot compete in recruiting because we have little to offer. Not anymore. Back in the day...sure. but not anymore. Expectations are too high. It's a mess.
  17. Relevant to who? Us, definitely...the rest of the country has forgotten. That's just fact.
  18. So, we are now taking former Wisconsin Assistants as our savior???? No F-ing way. He's a helluva coach, I agree, but hiring him is admission that we are their b-tch and that is a bridge way to far for this husker fan! Sorry. I just can't
  19. The ball bounced our way on that punt, that's a sign the game turned around! (at least that is how I want to interpret it)
  20. I still don't think the defense quit. More like, they've been on the field far too long and have nothing left to give. Same result, different path to get there. It's sad.
  21. Huskers simply do not know how to win. There's no emotion, no heart. Just an empty void.
  22. What does inferior (on paper) mean? We lost to Illinois, they didn't. They beat (then #2, but overrated apparently) Iowa. Hard to argue with the rest of your point, but I just can't understand why we would be favored against anybody until we start beating somebody.
