There were a few others buried in there - I'm pretty sure the numbers he lists are from the pro day as well, and it's clear why they aren't getting drafted:

    Anthony Grant (#53 RB) - 4.71 40 with a 26" vert and an 8'11" broad - not exactly explosive.

    Josh Fleeks (#63 RB) - 4.63 40 at 205 lbs

    Billy Kemp - 4.78 40 at 180 lbs

    Nouredin Nouili (#45 G)

Casey Rogers (#30 DT, transferred to Oregon) got a priority free agent grade

Isaiah Stalbird (#40 LB, transferred to SDSU) tested well - 4.49 40 - but is small

Luke Reimer (#62 LB) - 4.7 40, only ~220 lbs, short arms and lots of injuries

Quinton Newsome - 4.57 is pretty slow, at least for 6' 185

Good calls on Grant, Fleeks and Nouili as I missed those guys.

  2. Was reading through Dane Brugler's awesome 'The Beast' draft preview he does every year and it's looking pretty slim for Nebraska players to get drafted. Here's what I saw:

The top listed guy for NU was Marco Ortiz as the #2 Long Snapper--UDFA grade

    Omar Brown #34 S--UDFA grade

SUMMARY: Omar Brown grew up in the Minneapolis area. He lettered in basketball and football at Minneapolis North High, helping the latterteamto the state title as a senior. A three-star recruit, he received just a few FCS scholarship offers and signed with Northern Iowa. He set the bar high with six interceptions as a true freshman corner, then entered the transfer portal after the 2021 season. He became Nebraska’s starting nickel in Tony White’s 3-3-5 scheme in 2023. Brown is a savvy cover man who plays on the balls of his feet and has the reactive athleticism to drive on throws. He tracks the ball well in the deep third of the field, but h e might not have ideal split-field range. He fills with a head of steam and looks to wrap-finish versus the run, but he needs to stay square at contact. Overall, Brown is smoother than he is explosive, but he has the eyes of a cornerback to quickly read and crowd receivers without drawing attent ion from officials.

Phalen Sanford in Best of The Rest--#68

Quentin Newsome in Best of The Rest CBs--#79

Luke Reimer in Best of The Rest LBs--#62

Billy Kemp in Best of The Rest WRs--#197

    Marcus Washington #184 WRs

  3. Looking like good weather down in Lawrence tonight. Should be a pretty night for a baseball game. Looks like Ty Horn getting the ball for Nebraska and KU is throwing a guy with 4 IP through 3 appearances so a little bit of an unknown there. KU's pitching got knocked around pretty good last weekend against WVU while getting swept at home but the bats were there. Would be terrific to get a midweek W over a decent opponent.

What else can you say about Sears?!! Complete game shut out. 10 k, 0 walks, 2 hits , 0 runs!! Another quality start which moves ahead of Waldron for the most consecutive QS. He got some great defense tonight too.

    Absolute gem!

I've had BTN+ for years, and I searched for the game last night and could not find it.  I believe Creighton, as the home team, had the Big East network supercede Plus.

The NU/CU game was on FloSports which appears to have the streaming rights to the Big East baseball games. With CU being the home team on Tuesday, I suppose that makes sense. Why they don't just broadcast the NU/CU games on NET is beyond me. I watch a ton of college baseball but between ESPN+ and BTN+ I don't have much left in the wallet for anything else. I'd love to watch more ACC games but for some reason, their ACCNX+ package isn't included with ESPN+.

  6. I want a night game for CU almost as badly as MattyIce wanted Darnay Holmes to commit to Nebraska. The atmosphere for that game will rival 2014 Nebraska/Miami which was about as hostile a home crowd as I've ever seen at Nebraska.

We hope.  Kendall said last week that UGA and NU were next in line but UGA also swept a better team in Alabama.  I'd like to think they both get in though.

Oklahoma for sure will drop out after getting swept and KState might as well after losing 2 of 3 at home. That should open up a spot for Nebraska one would think.

My friend that is a very wise decision.  Langford might hit 35-40 bombs as a rookie.

I mean, he's got a serious swing for launching bombs to all sides of the field. And the Rangers 3rd baseman Josh Jung hit 26 as a rookie last year and missed a month of the season. Soo....with Marcus Semien, Evan Carter and Corey Seager in the lineup and Adolis Garcia going for 50 homers..... Langford might do something like Pete Alonso did and just rake bombs on his way to ROY honors. This young man is determined and built for it.

I think he's going to be a very solid player. I started watching him a couple years ago when he was at Florida where he was obviously quite good. Once I read that Texas was going to let him join the club for Spring Training I figured it was worth a shot as there was a chance he might make the club out of ST given Texas's openness to playing young guys if they are ready regardless of service time.

Most likely, I see the Texas Rangers playing pretty well.  Starting pitching will be a concern as we lost Montgomery (couldn't afford him).  Fortunately, we get Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer back after All-Star break.  So I'm hoping we aren't too far out of 1st place by then.

I think we have the best offensive lineup in baseball.  Especially with Evan Carter and Wyatt Langford this year.

Keep an eye on Langford.  He's built like a young Mike Trout, and has incredible power.

I love our Manager Bruce Bochy.  Like I said, we should be pretty good.

I have a decent sized futures ticket on Langford to win ROY so I'll be rooting for him. The rest of your team however, I will not be rooting for haha.

This one surprises me a bit. But, he’s probably looking for a starting position.

    I wasn’t a fan early on. But he’s grown into a contributor.

CJ probably just felt it was time to move on. He got his degree and I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at St. Johns where his brother plays. It feels weird but he's a traditional grad transfer.

  11. I saw Keith Law projected the Mariners to lose to the Orioles in the ALCS. I would do unspeakable things...perhaps even buying a Shadeur Sanders jersey to guarantee that result right now.

Canceled not postponed.. that sucks.. but seriously, why risk injury. I think its a good decision. Going to be a long boring week without our midweek baseball fix.. Grrr!!!

Some good games today. Coastal Carolina/Clemson, FSU/Florida, Duke/Campbell plus a couple others so not a total waste.

  13. Not sure if anyone else is in tune with Barstool but they spent a good amount of time talking about Brock Hardy getting spladled. Eventually, they got Brock on and he was terrific. Fun little interview.

Brock comes on around the 1:41:00 minute mark

  14. I kind of think the opposite, the wind is supposed to die down around 5 or 6 so if anything, I wonder if they push back the start a bit to let it...'warm' up? If the game goes or is cancelled, I'm guessing we see something on Twitter here in a couple of hours.

That only makes sense if they drop to the back half of the 1st round.  When Shedeur gets taken in the 4th round that logic doesn't fly.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with him. I see some big holes in his game but the QB class next year doesn't seem that great and QBs are always overdrafted.

  16. This Sanders stuff is just so funny and I'm surprised (well not surprised that people are so worked up over it). To me, it's pretty obvious what's going on. If Sanders and Hunter get drafted high the story from Deion is, "I told you these boys was special and the NFL don't lie." If they drop, he spins it as, "We wanted to make sure the landed in the right place." I think putting this out a full year in advance is lunacy but hey, we need some clicks before spring ball gets going lol.

  17. Huge game tonight, would be really surprised if they play. It is godawful outside and I don't think the weather is going to be much better down in Manhattan. It looks like the wind might die down by game time but still, pretty terrible weather for baseball.

I should have clarified. I actually thought he wrestled tough against Orine. I expected more from him against Wells. The team race was tight for 2nd. My point was I thought those 3 left the most points on the table. Wells won against Latona. Van Dee had looked like he was getting better and better and then just dropped an absolute stinker.

Lovett not going down in the 3rd will never make sense to me. Nobody can sell me on it. Brooks,  Starocci, etc the best of the best aren’t that naive to pick top in a 0-0 match and it’s your choice. Beyond stupid

That's a fair point regarding leaving the most points on the table. The Lovett decision is...just a head scratcher although Manning did take responsibility later in the broadcast. Lovett is probably kicking himself for sure especially with Henson winning it all.

The only ones you could be truly disappointed in were Lovett, Van Dee, and Pinto. Robb could have won one more. 125 was tough! Hardy getting 3rd is great. Taylor placing at 165 is great! Allred ran into the only guy in the round of 12 he didn’t want to. Any of the other 3 draws in R12 he would have placed. The three I mentioned above cost Nebraska a Top 3 performance.

With you on Lovett and Pinto as disappointments. Hard for me to get there on Van Dee. He was pretty soundly beaten against Orine (Van Dee maybe should've been awarded an escape but it wasn't conclusive). In the consis, I agree that I thought he should've gotten past Wells but he wasn't aggressive enough. Even if he beats Wells though he would've had his hands full with Latona of VT.
